Dorm #4: Birthday Planned By A Potato

Philip was excited to celebrate Charlie’s birthday with her. He wanted to spoil her for her birthday as well and he wanted it to be perfect. So, he was going to try his best to make it perfect. When he was home for winter break, Philip made sure to go pick up her gift for her then, since he couldn’t buy it in the wizarding world. Philip had even gotten someone in the kitchens to make her favorite cake.

He also got Harley to distract Charlie for a little bit and he used his spare key to get into her room to get the cake in there and her gifts. Philip knew what her favorite movies were and bought the ones he knew she didn’t own so they could watch them, those were also part of her birthday gift.

Philip went to get Charlie back from their other friend…it was more like he dragged her away from the other girl. Oops? Oh, well. They got to her dorm room and he pulled her into a tight hug. “Happy Birthday, Charlie.”

Charlie hadn't been expecting much for her birthday, maybe just for Philip to acknowledge it and hand out for a little bit. She never would have guessed the lengths Philip was going to go for her. She had gone out to Jaded Pages with Harley which was always fun.

When she got back Philip practically ripped her away from Harley to follow himself (not that she was one to complain when Philip showed an extra desire to be with her) back up to her room. When she walked in she flushed as the next thing she saw was Philip's chest. "Thank you, Philip." She hugged him back tightly. She had not quite been expecting the small party for just the two of them at all. Again, not that she was complaining either.

Philip grinned brightly at the expression on his best friend’s face. She hadn’t been expecting this at all, even though she should’ve. He was so lucky that someone as brilliant as her wanted to be friends with him, even more so stayed friends with him when his mother clearly despises the fact that Philip interacts with her. Sure, he would do little things from time to time, but it was her birthday and she deserved something special like this.

“You’re welcome, Charlie.” His arms lingered around her for an extra second, then he finally let her go. “I didn’t know what you wanted to do. Or if you had eaten yet or anything. But I have your favorite cake and movies. We can do whatever you want.” He grinned at her.
