Box of Candy Empty Box of Candy

Even though Mabel's personality wasn't sweet, she did enjoy sweet treats. She spent a lot of time with her cousin which made her enjoy sweet treats like him. So, this shop was at the top of her list of shops to visit. Once inside the sweet shop, Mabel smiled. It wasn't a wicked smile like her usual one, it was a sweet smile that only appeared when she was enjoying herself. She would never show anyone that smile, they would think she was nice and she wasn't. After looking for her cousin and not finding him, she finally just gave up and went into the shop.

Earlier she had poured her drink onto a boy, which was funny at the time. But now she was thinking that she might have overreacted. But she didn't really care and she pushed the thought from her mind. She grabbed a box of candy at the same time someone else was. Mabel turned to see the boy that she had spilled her drink on. "Crap,:" she muttered. It had only been about an hour since she last seen the boy and she wasn't ready to see him again.

Box of Candy Empty Re: Box of Candy

Stark was an eleven year old boy with parents who loved him so of course he loved him some candy. After stopping by the bank to get the money his mum had told him to get he decided to stop by the candy shop. He didn't feel very responsible making the choice to go their first but he found it easy to look past that guilty feeling after walking in the sweet shop. The boy was literally a kid in a candy shop, he had never got that saying much until walking into this particular candy shop. Wizarding candy was way better than muggle candy in his mind, so he skipped right over the shelf of muggle candies.

Then he saw it, a box of his favorite candy ever, exploding bon-bons. They were mostly chocolate flavored with a hint of coconut in them, but that wasn't the best part. Like the name implies when eaten the exploded. Not figuratively exploding with flavor but there was literally a small explosion of chocolate and coconut in her mouth. For some reason Stark loved them and could probably eat a whole box within the hour.

There was just one problem with this particular box. She had her hand on it. As he was reaching for the box the boy saw another hand reaching for it, when he looked up he saw the girl from earlier. Stark had had to button up his cardigan after their last meeting to hide the stain on his white t-shirt, and his hair still had a damp appearance despite his best efforts to dry it. The small boy put his hands up as if being arrest when he saw her. "All your's not worth it." He said before turning on his heels to any other shelf.

"You're not even gonna stand up for yourself? You're just gonna let me have this box of candy which you clearly want." If she was him, she'd just take the box and not care at all. "How lame." She left the box on the shelf and started looking at another candy.

Maybe that was her being nice, she wasn't entirely sure about that. But she kind of felt sorry for the boy, he wasn't standing up for himself at all. If someone had the nerve to pour a drink on her, she would have told them off. But this boy didn't. "Learn to stand up for yourself and maybe people wouldn't walk all over you." She took the box of candy off the shelf and tossed it to the boy. "Just this once," she warned. This was as nice as she was going to get and she hoped he knew that. This was the only time.

Stark didn't like fights and tried to avoid getting involved in them at all costs. He wasn't a complete push over though and would stand up for himself it was something he truly felt strongly about something. He would get in a fight if it was necessary but he didn't think that a small box of chocolates was not fight worthy. He disliked verbal fights more than any other and if he decided to press the topic of the candies a verbal fight was sure to ensue. For some reason he still ended up getting yelled at, only this time for not standing up for himself. how confusing was this girl, what did she want from him? No matter what he did this girl just didn't seem to be happy, in past experience he learned bullies prefer it when the other person just gave up. Maybe she wasn't all bad then.

He turned around just in time to catch the box that was now flying towards him. "I stand up for myself when it's important. Not that you'd care right?" He said simply readjusting the box right side up. "Thanks for this." He said holding it up.

"You're right, I don't care." What was the point of tormenting someone if they just gave up and took it? She liked it better when someone fought back, it was more entertaining that way. She usually told her victims to stand up for themselves so they would fight back. It was so boring if they didn't.

"That was a once in a lifetime thing, loser. Its never gonna happen again. So don't expect anything from me." She said this more to herself than the boy. She had to be mean, if she wasn't, then what would she be? Who would she be? Defiantly not Mabel Miller, the girl who made people cry. "You're lucky it wasn't something more important or I would have never gave it up."

Stark grinned a bit when the unnamed girl told him that she didn't care and continued to insist that he wasn't going to get anything more from her. It was starting to seem as if she was trying too hard to be mean to him now. Would it kill her to just admit that she was nice enough to give him the candy this one time? Why did she hate him so much, he had done absolutely nothing to her, so her hate was very much unprovoked. "Understood." He answered with a grin.

He had been about to leave when he saw a mini box of every flavored beans and decided to get those as well. "Got a favorite candy?" He asked the mean girl in attempt of some small talk that wasn't mean based.

Why was he grinning? She was being mean to him or at least she thought she was. "Wipe that grin off your face." She glared, hoping the boy would quit his stupid grinning. "Why are you grinning? You shouldn't be grinning. Don't grin." She huffed and crossed her arms like a toddler that wasn't getting their way would. "Don't grin." Her glare turned into a pout, she was upset that she wasn't intimidating this boy. "Don't grin, it looks stupid."

Was she going to tell him her favorite candy? Her mouth seemed to be working without her permission. She didn't want to be so nice to the boy, but her mouth wouldn't shut up and be mean like it was supposed to. "I like sour candy."

Being told to stop grinning only made Stark grin even more. It was kind of funny seeing the girl struggle to keep her victim under control as she was obviously very used to doing. He wasn’t going to be bullied though and he had spent plenty of time that way to learn how to counteract them. He had already gotten what he wanted, the bon-bons, so anything he did now was just fun. The girl seemed really frustrated and he was completely calm so this was kind of working in his favor.

He took the mini box of beans off the shelf and smiled to the girl. “Sour candy is fun. Ever tried these acids pops?” He asked picking one up off the shelf behind him and handing it out to her. “Of course if you don’t want the one because I touched it there are many more here.” He said moving out of the way of the shelf showing her the pops.

Mabel sighed, it was no use telling the boy to quit smiling. Why was she even still talking to him? She could just walk away and leave the shop. But she stayed where she was. For what reason she didn't know. "No," she whispered, stilling thinking about why she didn't just hit the box of candy out of his hand and just leave. "I haven't had those before."

She grabbed one from the shelf, no way was she going to take one from the boy. "What does it taste like?" She stared at the candy in her hand so she didn't have to look at the boy.

Stark knew that he sill had a lot of shopping to do and spending his entire time in the candy shop was not going to help him get that done. It was nice though that he got to get things settled a bit more with the girl who had previously ruined his hair and shirt wit her sticky drink. He had proven that she could be nice when she wanted, and that he hadn't made her hate him as much as he originally thought. Though he was fairly certain she wasn't going to stay this nice forever and he was probably pushing his luck right now, so he decided the best course of action was to leave now. "Acid pops are sour candy with different flavors so you'll have to find out what flavor it is by eating it." He said with a smile when she asked what the candy tastes like.

"Well I'm done here, see you around maybe." He said with a sweet smile before heading off to the cashier to pay for his candies. After buying the bon-bons and beans he left the colorful store with a smile.
