Term 21 Transfiguration Exam Empty Term 21 Transfiguration Exam

Post by Professor Walker Sat Oct 24, 2015 9:36 pm

Professor Walker watched every single student who walked past him into the room with suspicion. Any one of these students was capable of cheating. He didn't trust any of them, not even the bright ones. Especially not the bright ones. They were the ones who cared about failure.

"Welcome to your Transguration exam. I hope you have studied hard and thus have no need to cheat. There is a very strong anti-cheating policy here at Beauxbatons. Anyone caught cheating in this exam will receive a failing grade." He paused to let the words of warning sink in. "You may now begin."

Ooc: This is a chance to win some house points. In this thread, you will roleplay how your character takes an exam. Do they cheat, or are they honest (maybe include who they cheated off of)? Did your student study? Are they guessing on every question? After you are finished with your post, a Minister will tell you you your grade (Oustanding, Satisfactory, Unsatisfactory) and whether or not they got caught cheating. The grades influence how many points your house gets. No points will be awarded for an Unsatisfactory. A Satisfactory will receive five points, and an Outstanding will receive ten points.

The posts must clearly say if your student cheated and whether or not they studied. Just because they cheat, doesn't mean they'll get caught. And your student could fail if they studied, or pass if they didn't study. Have fun!

Term 21 Transfiguration Exam Empty Re: Term 21 Transfiguration Exam

Post by Stephanie Vargas Wed Oct 28, 2015 11:33 am

Stephanie studied really hard for the Transfiguration exam. It took her two whole weekends. She didn't want to let Mr. Walker down. Since she was one of the his favorite students, he would become really disappointed if Stephanie didn't study for this particular exam. Besides, Transfiguration was one of the most interesting subjects in the Academy. Studying Transfiguration wasn't really a chore. She liked it. With a second thought, studying any kind of subject wasn't a chore for Stephanie. It was an important procedure she had to go through, in order to ensure a better future.

The Second year witch, entered inside the classroom, slightly worried. She just wanted to show Mr. Walker that she wasn't one of his favorites for no reason. He looked rather suspicious. Stephanie could understand why the rest of the students didn't like him. He didn't trust a lot of people and often became strict for no reason. However, the Italian girl, considered these attributes as good qualities of his personality. They were able to put an order in the classroom. And order was really important for Stephanie.

Stephanie sat next to Hassan. She sighed. She just hoped that the handsome young wizard's face wouldn't distract her from writing the exam. After getting the signal from her Professor, she began writing. Most of the questions were easy enough to be answered within a few minutes. She smiled slightly. It wasn't as hard as she thought it'd be. Probably because she spent two weekends studying...

Everything were going on smoothly. Piece of cake. Finally, it was the time for the last question. Stephanie blinked in surprise. "Is there a maximum limit of volume deviation? Must the item have a defined mass?" She remembered talking about that particular topic with Hassan, but the whole conversation was based on speculation. Was there really an answer to that? She tried to think, but only speculations came in her mind. In the end, the young witch answered with the exactly same way she did, when talking to Hassan. "There's not a defined mass. Based on how limited the rules of magic are, somebody could possible Switch an ant with a galaxy."

Stephanie gave her paper to Mr. Walker.  As she was leaving the class, she looked at Hassan and smiled. She wasn't sure if such an expression has ever appeared on her face, during her lifetime. However, she was finally sure about one thing: She has a crush on Hassan.

Term 21 Transfiguration Exam Empty Re: Term 21 Transfiguration Exam

Post by Aidan De Gaule Wed Oct 28, 2015 2:29 pm

This is what it all came down to. Aidan's future carrier was maybe on the line, he thought as he entered the room where he'd be taking his OWL exam in Transfiguration. Some of his OWLs were pretty much secured, like Charms, Divination, Herbology and maybe Potions. He wasn't sure what he'd pick up for NEWTS, though. In three days, he had Defense Against the Dark Arts, but he wasn't too worried. He heard the exam would be mostly testing how good your magical instincts were, and Aidan had those.

What he didn't have, however, was any understanding or insight in Transfiguration. He studied nearly a month in advance, but he still didn't get most of the things in his book. He just learned the incantations and effects by heart, he could even recite the index, but the magic behind the spells? Not a single thing. He'd asked literally everyone for help, from Stephanie and that other kid (Aidan just couldn't remember his name) to Isobel and even (in very desperate times) Apollo. He made over twenty practice exams, but he just failed all the questions regarding insight. As much as he was stressing out for the written part, the practical exam would be the literal hell. Pen trembling in his hand, Aidan couldn't cheat even if he wanted to. The OWL and NEWT students were all under strict supervision, making it impossible. He blanked at the first question. "Explain (in detail) how the Switching spell works." Well, this wasn't going to go well.

Three hours later, Aidan was called to the practical exam. He tried to force a smile towards the lady (who looked like she was a genuine nice lady), but he didn't think it got out that well. "Mr. De Gaule, right?" He nodded. "Could you please make this plate Vanish?" Aidan's hand trembled as he raised his wand. He took a deep breath. "Evanesco." The plate dissapeared, leaving behind only a slight trail of dust where it once stood. Maybe he could still pull this off...?

Term 21 Transfiguration Exam Empty Re: Term 21 Transfiguration Exam

Garnet Palmer
Fifth Year
Didn't Study
Didn't Cheat

Garnet wasn't a serious student in the slightest, but she wasn't a slacker either. Well, at least she thought she wasn't. She had noticed the date and realized she hadn't studied for any of her exams. She tried to be concerned, but she just wasn't. She had no idea how people lie Max could be so concerned about it.

So Garnet wandered from the Grand Hall into the Transfiguration classroom. She looked at the test booklet and sighed. Whatever she thought, opening to the first page.

Everything seemed pretty straight-forward. She filled in the answers and when she was done, she closed the booklet and yawned. It was pretty uneventful.
