Term 15 Herbology Exam Empty Term 15 Herbology Exam

Post by Professor Ellis Sun Oct 19, 2014 1:42 pm

Professor Ellis looked out into the crowded greenhouse, looking around to make sure everyone had their necessary supplies, as that was a part of their grade. "Hello everyone! Welcome to your Herbology Exam," Ellis greeted

"I know all of you have studied and are prepared for this exams. Just a reminder, which I trust none of you need, the other professors and I have zero tolerance cheating policies. If I see you cheating on my exam, you will receive a zero percentage grade, and most likely fail my class. Please don't cheat, because I do not want to see any of you fail. Don't be nervous. You'll all do great!" Professor Ellis encouraged, believing that his words were true.

Ooc: This is a chance to win some house points. In this thread, you will roleplay how your character takes an exam. Do they cheat, or are they honest (maybe include who they cheated off of)? Did your student study? Are they guessing on every question? After you are finished with your post, a Minister will tell you you your grade (Oustanding, Satisfactory, Unsatisfactory) and whether or not they got caught cheating. The grades influence how many points your house gets. No points will be awarded for an Unsatisfactory. A Satisfactory will receive five points, and an Outstanding will receive ten points.

The posts must be at least 100 words long (like all posts on this site) and they must clearly say if your student cheated and whether or not they studied. Just because they cheat, doesn't mean they'll get caught. And your student could fail if they studied, or pass if they didn't study. Have fun!

Autumn was surprised that she even survived Herbology. Every time she walked into the greenhouse, she immediately had an allergic reaction. It was a required class, and since her allergies weren't severe (coughing, sneezing, and itching), she couldn't avoid it.

Professor Ellis did have mercy on her, though. She was permitted to observe the class from a distance, when things were more hands-on. She always passed her tests, so there was never a problem in the professor's eyes.

So Autumn was confident when she received her test booklet. She was finished in about twenty minutes, despite having the urge to scratch her skin every few seconds.

Herbology was one of those subjects Lucie had a little more confidence in than some others. She knew the test was coming up but decided to focus more on those subjects more which were more of a struggle. There was no way she wanted to add guilt on top of guilt. Thus herbology was pushed aside in an effort to prepare for the intricate difficulties of spell casting. Then before she new it she was in the greenhouses for a test.

She felt unprepared but not incapable of passing. Lucie could remember what she'd learnt in class and she had done her homework and assignments. Thus she would ignore the churning stomach she always had before a test. It was normal to feel nervous. Then it was time for the test to begin and Lucie struggled only a little bit. Not much. She did know her stuff so when the test was over she was fairly certain she would pass.

Term 15 Herbology Exam Empty Re: Term 15 Herbology Exam

Kayla thought she had a good understanding of Herbology. She hadn't studied for it as much as some other subjects. Plant diagrams were set aside for wandwork theory and such, mainly Transfiguration and Defense Against the Dark Arts. The latter she was currently averaging an Outstanding in and was completing an extra credit project on top of the exam. Nevertheless, she hadn't entirely neglected Herbology. She read through the whole books, summing up what she knew. Whatever she was unsure of, she reviewed. It wasn't the most organized system but she was still confident.

She sat up tall in her seat, smiling at Professor Ellis. She rather liked him and didn't want to disappoint. Opening the test, her glance fell upon the first question. That was easy. It seemed to go chapter by chapter. Number 38, she wasn't sure. It was either A or D. What were the exact healing properties of motherwort again? The person right in front of her had their paper in clear view, not even hiding the answer, but she decided it wasn't worth it. She had a similar stumble with Question 40. She took up the whole class time, double and triple checking carefully. She was confident in her answers and especially proud of her essay question response.

Harley liked Herbology. Perhaps it was how, by itself, the plants had their own uses, but once you cooked it or mixed it with another substance, it could become something amazing. She hadn't studied as much for this test as her others; she understood herbology quite well and it was one of the only classes she didn't bother dozing off in. While waiting for students to file in the classroom, she lazily checked off plants and what they did mentally. Fluxweed is used in Polyjuice Potions, and Gurdyroot wards off Gulping Plimplies. Dittany is- Oh God. What did Dittany do? For the life of her, she couldn't remember. Hopefully, that one plant of the five hundred they'd studied wouldn't be on there.

The Professor began passing out the packets that would essentially decide their future. As soon as she received hers, she dipped her quill in ink and began answering questions. The first two pages were easy. All were plants she knew and had used before, but sure enough, come third page, the question was there. Dittany was... God, she had no clue. After five minutes of process of elimination and picking what was probably the best answer, she moved on. At least it was only one question she didn't know.

Herbology, something he particularly didn't have much interest in. Julie-Pierre still had tried to do the best he could, though, for this had become one of his worst classes under his schedule. The German had been slipping a lot, lately, and this class was no exception. With the lack of inspiration to truly delve into the subject and remember everything within it off the bat combined with his growing rebellious nature, he knew he probably wouldn't do too well on his test.

Still, Auburn had done her best to help him study. They had done as much together as they could since they both figured that they needed to get his grades up. Still, the boy wasn't as confident in himself anymore with his subjects, even with the ones he was the best he could be in. He only hoped their studies helped him.
