Term 20 Round I: Feu vs Cerisier Empty Term 20 Round I: Feu vs Cerisier

Post by Professor Bowen Thu Sep 10, 2015 7:47 pm

It was the first game of the season and the professor was excited to see how to new members and captain would do. Since Lucie had graduated last year, there was a new captain and a new player to take her spot. She just knew it would be a great first game, there were so many things to look forward to. She was excited to see how the new captain did under the pressure of the first game. Would Gregory crack or would he pull his team to victory?

She smiled up at the clear blue sky, the sun was shinning bright today. The perfect way to start a season, not a cloud in the sky. No clouds meant no rain and no rain meant a perfect day. As the teams walked onto the field, she turned her head to smile at both of them. "Shake hands, congrats on making captain," she said to the new captains. "Good luck to both teams," she called out. "May all of you do your best, don't let the perfect weather get in your way."

And with that, she released the balls and blew her whistle to signal the beginning of the game.

The announcers for this game will be Sophie Owens and Andrea Ritter.

Autumn knew that this would probably her last game, but she was excited for it. She had won a couple of games in her career as a captain and despite never winning the quidditch cup, she didn't feel like a failure. Autumn felt fulfilled and ready for the next step in her life. If she won, cool, if not, okay. It was still fun.

Autumn took off up into the sky after smiling at her teammates and winking at her boyfriend. She was off to start guarding her teammates herself. And almost immediately, she heard a ding. Cerisier already had scored.

Gregory was feeling really confident about this game. He had spent so much unnecessary time worrying about who would replace Lucie and if he could replicate her leadership skills properly. But here he was, smiling and ready to face the game.

He hugged his cousin and wished her luck before taking his spot in the sky. He felt mildly bad about Ursula missing the first goal, but it was fine. She'd done really well in practice and he had faith in her.

He knew he couldn't worry about her too much. He had his own job to do. And that was to protect his teammates.

Greg flew around and smacked a bludger away from his seeker. That could have been bad, he thought.

Term 20 Round I: Feu vs Cerisier Empty Re: Term 20 Round I: Feu vs Cerisier

Ursula couldn't handle her nerves. It was just way too much, this high, with all those people staring at her... She completely blanked as a Cerisier Chaser zoomed at her and scored. Was she really cut out for this? She slapped herself. No, now is not the time for that. Focus!

There they came again, the three Chasers preparing to strike. Not this time! Left, right, middle, right, middle, left... RIGHT! She flew to the right goal and caught the Quaffle. Alright! She threw it to a Feu chaser. He staggered a bit, but kept on flying. Did she really throw that hard? They were moving towards the other goal now. A bit of rest for the Keeper...

Term 20 Round I: Feu vs Cerisier Empty Re: Term 20 Round I: Feu vs Cerisier

Post by Andrea Ritter Sat Sep 12, 2015 6:24 am

Andrea hadn't thought she'd end up here in this position announcing not only the first match of the year but also the first match of Quidditch she'd ever seen. With panic setting in the moment she saw her name up on the roster she turned into her cousin and read up on everything she could on the subject she needed to know. And that very much to the suffering of homework for the oddest classes she'd ever had.

Was she mentally prepared? Well today's match would show. She shot a sideways glance at the older girl she would be announcing beside. A girl who looked to have experience on her side. Oh boy. Andrea did not feel so great. "I think I'm going to be sick," she muttered to herself.

And the game had been begun by Professor Bowen. It was far too late now to back out. "Hello," she called out tentatively. "This is a sunny day isn't it for a game. I'm sure everyone out there will do superbly well. And look how well everyone is flying. It looks so wonderful to see such wonderful flying." She heard the ding and smiled. "And Cerisier scores the first goal of the day. Very well done." It was going okay so far she felt. Especially with her own house already ahead. Another ding sounded. Well for a small while they were ahead. "Feu evens the scores up," she put in, "but with that snitch worth so much more than the quaffle well it's going to be a while before we can guess who's likely to win." That had to be the single most confusing thing about this game. It was like chess. The rules made no sense in her head.

Term 20 Round I: Feu vs Cerisier Empty Re: Term 20 Round I: Feu vs Cerisier

Sophie had mixed feelings about sharing the announcer's box with someone else. She glanced at her partner, a first year Cerisier girl. She was someone she could talk to, even if it wasn't much. Sophie would have liked to stretch out her well-manicured rainbow colored toes, though. She simply tossed her hair and let out her trademark giggle into the microphone.

She wasn't really rooting for either side even though her little brother was in Feu. Sophie watched the game with intense fascination, like one of her chess matches. A manipulate smirk grew on her face. "As a not-so-secret secret...oops... Captain Greg is very proud of his new first year Keeper, but will she live up to standards? And...it's 0-10 to Cerisier. Make of that what you will," Sophie giggled, squirming with anticipation. "Guess what else Captain Greg is proud of?" she joked suggestively. She got a warning glance from Professor Bowen at that one, but she left the blanks hanging in the air and everyone knew she was of course referring to his girlfriend, Kayla.

"Ursla-Ursula? How do you say her name? I'm sorry, I'm really bad at names! I'm trying folks! She's got them moves like Jagger! She blocks the Quaffle and throws it hard to the Feu Chaser-ouch," Sophie winced slightly. "Looks like she threw it a bit too hard," she giggled. "Feu catches up 10-10. Ooh, they score another goal. Maybe Captain Autumn should tell her Keeper to get their head out of the clouds. Just a suggestion," Sophie kept giggling. "Although it is a gorgeous day."

She heard her co-announcer make a comment about being sick. Sophie pulled away from the mic to look at her. "Don't worry, this game will be loads of fun!" she beamed. She leaned back onto the mic. "Hey everyone, give your hands up for Announcer Andrea! She's just a first year but she's doing amazing!" Sophie giggled.

Term 20 Round I: Feu vs Cerisier Empty Re: Term 20 Round I: Feu vs Cerisier

Andrea threw the older girl a small thankful smile. Perhaps she would do okay.  This game was only the first one.  And she sat up straighter as Sophie announced her as the new announcer. It really must be an amazing thing for a first year to get this gig.  Especially a first year who hadn't heard of the game before she came to Beauxbatons.

The things which Sophie was saying went over Andrea's head. Every time she opened her mouth the young Swiss girl would throw a puzzled look her way before staring at the players flying above the pitch.  She knew she needed to say more but let Sophie take over.  Why do all the hard work if the person next to you was doing very well with it?

But of course if she was going to be amazing she was going to have to do amazing. Once more she straightened from the slumped position she'd fallen back into.  Amazing Andrea the Announcer. That was what she needed to be.  Rioting Ritter?  She smiled at the second title she considered giving herself. Rioting Something would be much better suited to someone who played in one of those beater positions.  Time to speak again.  "I think that perhaps they're slowing down after those goals scored by Feu.  Cerisier needs to keep up the work if they want to win.  Hey look is that the...oh sorry it's only the sun glinting of some player's watch."

Term 20 Round I: Feu vs Cerisier Empty Re: Term 20 Round I: Feu vs Cerisier

Post by Ursula Valdez Thu Sep 17, 2015 3:44 pm

It was going great! Ursula finally regained her confidence. Yeah, Cerisier had scored once more, but so did Feu, and she was on a roll today. She moved gracefully to the left, swiftly to the right and stood as a brick wall against the middle goal. Of course, unless brooms could break brick walls. Then she'd be something a broom couldn't break. Anyway, she was the thing that was most in the way of Cerisier's victory. She was really the backbone of this entire team, she thought as she blocked an attempted left shot. Yeah, she wasn't having a perfect record of shots, but this one was damn fine, and she intended to keep it that way.

She wasn't really focussing too much anymore. Both teams were intercepting each other around the middle, so she didn't really do much. A bludger was coming her way, which she swiftly dodged. She looked in the crowd. There's that guy she beat up, that guy she nearly stapped in the toe, that guy from class, that girl with the nice hair... She was really getting to know a lot of people. So nice, she thought as she blocked the middle shot. She threw the Quaffle halfway through the field, into the arms of a Chaser. He didn't even wobble once! A great throw, followed by a ding for Feu.

Gregory was very happy with the scores, however he was quite unhappy with his other Beater. There wasn't a reason why Ursula should have to be dodging bludgers. And there also wasn't a reason why Cerisier should be hitting bludgers at a Keeper. He wondered if his cousin felt the strangeness of that action.

Gregory hit a bludger across the field towards Cerisier's seeker, but it was intercepted. He wondered where his own seeker was and what he was thinking about. Normally, Julie-Pierre wasn't one to dawdle. It hadn't been a long game just yet, but he was definitely ready for some change. Especially since Cerisier was gaining on them, according to a ding near the goals.

Term 20 Round I: Feu vs Cerisier Empty Re: Term 20 Round I: Feu vs Cerisier

His first game of the ear. The boy was jumping up and down in anticipation. Like a little schoolgirl the anxiety and excitement of the game was already eating away at his skin, smile brightly plastered on his face as he did his best not to squeal.

His last year spent at this school had him facing his girlfriend. It was a little sad, thinking it that way, but the moment was still strangely beautiful in its own way. It was like a fight that was never truly an argument or sort couples normally face, but was still enough to bring conflict. Even after it, though, Julie-Pierre knew that he and Autumn would mend back together, "make up" for the game, and go on their way.

There was nothing weighing him down, now. He knew he couldn't ask her now, as much as she was right near him. It didn't seem romantic enough on its own, here, to pop the question. He only hoped that fate would be in his favour for what he thought to be the best scenario.

At the sidelines the Seeker waited, keeping eye of his teammates and having his own little commentary to ease whatever stress dared to sneak through his veins.

"Ach, komm schon (Oh, come on!)!" he exclaimed in irritation, seeing the quaffle intercepted. "We can do this, guys! We can do it, just keep it up!"

The most hyper, the boy was, in what seemed like years. He felt like a kid, and it was all strangely glorious. I couldn't help but love it, the extra energy running through him. It only made his determination and anticipation grow through the course of the game.

And then, Feu scored.

He stood up on his broom, cheering loudly with a fist in the air. "That's it, Alle!" he shouted cheerily. "We got this! Keep it up!"

Autumn couldn't say that she was surprised that Cerisier was losing this game. Their only hope was catching the snitch now, and Autumn knew that her seeker was easily discouraged. She briefly wondered if Greg felt the same way. She made a mental note to ask him later.

"Yay! Keep it up, everyone!" Autumn was surprised that Cerisier scored again. Feu's Keeper must have been distracted. She glanced up at the first year before flying to protect one of her Chasers. "Sorry!" she said. Autumn didn't normally let herself get so distracted.

Concentate she thought before flying off. She should at least make the most of it.
