Quidditch Friends

Apollo got accepted by the Nuage Quidditch team! Best news ever! Now he would be able to finally play this exciting sport. He didn't really know a lot about it, but from what he'd learned it was interesting, to say the least. He happily walked around the Quidditch pitch and imagined himself playing there...he looked in the air and visualized all sorts of things. He knew he was getting overwhelmed but he didn't really care.

As he was walking, he thought of his team. Kayla was his captain...she seemed like a pretty nice girl! They will probably have a lot of fun, while practicing. He talked to her during the sorting out dinner and some other brief occasions, but he never really got to know her. He knew only a little about her. He just hoped that playing in the same team with her, would help them to become closer friends.

One of the things that troubled Apollo, however, was the players of the other teams. He didn't knew about the kids who played for the opponent teams. Just their captains. Apollo didn't know what to expect during the game and that kinda scared him...but he was optimistic. He may have beginner's luck as well! Who knows? He may even be a natural...everything is possible!

His thoughts caused a burst of laughter...a rather loud one, actually. Apollo spotted a guy looking at him...probably Apollo laughed a bit too much. But that guy reminded him of somebody...somebody...OH GOSH! IT WAS THE CAPTAIN OF THE FEU TEAM! G-reg? Yeah that was his name! And he also was Kayla's new boyfriend...They were a rather popular couple. Apollo was indeed social but not really popular...what was he even thinking about? He had to meet Greg. He seemed to interesting!

So, he came closer to him and smiled broadly. He waved his hand and said:

"Hello there! I'm Apollo, chaser of the Nuage Quidditch team. You must be Greg, right?".

When Quidditch season rolled around, Greg's year began to pick up a bit more. He didn't quite know what to expect of this season (he definitely wasn't expecting to be voted captain), but he was ready to play and train with his new teammates.

Greg was actually about to talk to the Professor when he saw this guy, probably about his age, wandering around the quidditch pitch. Then, all of a sudden, Greg heard this random hyena laughter from the kid.

And suddenly Greg was being waved at and spoken to. "Oh yeah. That's me," he said quietly, feeling awkward. "Did you need something?"

Greg talked rather quietly...Apollo usually couldn't read the social atmosphere and understand easily other people's emotions (unless they've told him about what they feel). He wasn't obnoxious or anything...he cared more than several people to understand the problems of individuals and help them...It was just his nature. But for some reason he felt the awkwardness in the air, this time. Probably Apollo was too straightforward...Greg seemed kind of a shy guy so maybe he should have approached him differently. Well all these thoughts were useless anyway, at this point of time. He already had made his move. He tried to seem friendly:

"Nothing in particular. I'd just like to meet you. I've heard a lot about you and you seem like a pretty interesting guy...You're sixth year, right? So am I!" He said and laughed for a short amount of time. He may talked a bit too loudly...he tended to do that when wanting to be friendly and it usually annoyed people. He gulped and smiled warmly. A friendly smile was always better than 1,000 words...right?

Greg kicked at the grass beneath him. Of course the guy knew of him. Greg and Kayla had been dating for a couple of weeks now and the gossip hadn't died down. In fact, it had gotten worse with the legitimate start of the season. People had been on his case about possibly throwing games, but why would he? The schedule hadn't shown that Feu was playing Nuage at all.

Greg wondered if this was some sort of trick, but he had no evidence to think that it was or wasn't. "Yeah. I'm a sixth year. One of Feu's Prefects, too," he answered, not quite sure if he should say anything else. Was there anything else to say? Greg supposed he was done with everything he needed to do that day. Until he met up with Kayla later that evening.

Greg seemed to be thinking...Hmmm, maybe Apollo said something wrong? He couldn't understand what though. Greg seemed like a pretty mysterious person. He didn't show a lot his emotions and talked little. Apollo may was the complete opposite, but he didn't really care. Becoming friends with somebody is based on the chemistry between two people, not their similarities.

"Oh a Perfect too? That's awesome! So, how did you learn about Quidditch? You must have some experience to be that good at it!" He said, as he smiled. Greg seemed to think of things through a lot...even when asked about such a simple question. Apollo would answer in seconds, without thinking.
