Post by Professor Bowen Sun Dec 08, 2013 2:33 pm

It was the winter season and the day called for snow, lots of it. After the outcome of the last game, this professor was excited to see the outcome of this game. The snow always seemed to make the games interesting and since it was supposed to snow a lot, the game was sure to be interesting. There was a little flurry happening before the game and it was only going to get worse. This game marked the second to last game of the two captains, next year the two teams would have different captains. Professor Bowen was looking forward to seeing who would have the privilege of leading the teams.

"Okay boys, shake hands and have a nice game. Make it interesting like always." She wished both teams luck and released the quaffle. "Play fair and make it interesting!" She blew her whistle to signal the start of the game.

Announcers for this game are Linette Puchard and Rene Pendlebrook

Linette had never had to wait until the second match to announce before. On the other hand, at least she knew she would get to announce her final Quidditch match. The seventh year had a lot of plans for that round. Plans to make the goodbyes of the Captains and herself extra special. She smiled at the thought as she rubbed her gloved hands together. "It's a bit on the cold side isn't it?" she said to Rene before turning on the microphone. Linette could have amplified her own voice but she much preferred to use the equipment she'd used ever since she first got this gig.

"Hello wizards and witches out in the stands. Welcome to our snowy second round of Beauxbatons Quidditch. As always, our two teams are Cerisier and Montagnard. Oddly enough the winner of the last round was unclear due to the final results. It could leave things a little bit indecisive as to whether or not there will be an overall winner next match.

"If Johnson can avoid being injured this time we may actually get to see if Henrau has the advantage due to her smaller size or if the catching of the snitch last time was only because she was the only seeker up in the air. Will Montagnard also dominate this game the way they did the last one with that chasing score. The poor Cerisier chasers must have had a bit of an off day. Montagnard don't get too comfortable. Cerisier still has the better chasers. Also go easy on your captain. He doesn't have long to live and may be poor soon." No-one else may understand that final reference but Linette was certain Osmund would understand perfectly what she was referring to.

The last match was a disaster in Marie-Laure's opinion. All those goals and they ended up a draw. Why on earth couldn't Johnson avoid the bludgers like any other skilled seeker? It was beyond ironic that the less skilled of the two seekers was the one who turned out to be able to dodge any iron ball headed her way. This time there should be no excuse.

She flexed her wrists and prepared herself to push off into the air. The Montagnard chasers would dominate this game too. She was determined they would and she was confident the other two chasers had the same determination. At the sound of the whistle Marie-Laure was up in the air and the first to catch the quaffle. She passed it off to one of the other chasers and then caught it again when she was near the hoops. First goal went to Montagnard and Marie-Laure threw a smirk toward Quentin D'Angelo. It felt good to be able to beat him to the first goal.

After last week's accident, Payton felt good as new after going to the infirmary. He was still upset that he had let his team down so he practiced extra hard for this game. He was determined to stay on his broom no matter what. He hoped his teammates weren't too mad at him, but he wasn't surprised if they were mad at him. He needed to stay on his game today and not let another bludger near him. It wasn't entirely his fault that the bludger had hit him, it was its job to knock into people.

Once in the air, Payton kept his eyes peeled for the snitch. There were no cheers or 'good lucks' today. He didn't want to be distracted and maybe he was still a little blue from the last game. If he would have caught the snitch, they would have won instead of the game ending with a tie.

Payton was glad that the first goal was scored by Montagnard, but he still didn't cheer over it. He'd only cheer if they won. He still cheet when they scored an additional ten points. It was unlike him, but he was so determined this game.

Stephie had caught the snitch once and thus she knew she could catch it again. This time though she may have to race for the snitch. The young Cerisier look at the opposing seeker nervously. What was he like as a seeker when he wasn't injured. Last year he'd done well. Very well and caught the snitch a lot for his team. Whilst, this year she'd only caught it in that first match because he wasn't there.

She flew up a little higher and shivered at the coldness of the air. This was the highest she'd ever been and Stephanie was half afraid she would overbalance and go plunging down to the ground. She blinked as flakes of snow drifted downwards. Playing Quidditch in the snow made her question her decision to try out. This wasn't nearly as much fun as some students tried to make out.

So the last game had been a tie, which was all just as well for Osmund. His team didn't win, but neither did Cerisier, so as long as they got their stuff together on that day and won the next two matches, he'd be perfectly fine. One thing they had going for their team was that their chasers had really stepped up their game last match. If Cerisier hadn't scored those few goals, Montagnard could've won easily without catching the snitch.

Osmund strode out onto the pitch with an air of confidence about him that was only hindered briefly by Linette's words. He had thought that their little misadventure with the fortune teller had been buried in her mind, like it had in his own, never to be dug up again. His face blushed at the recall of the predictions for him and mentally told himself that if he decided to end himself then, the fortune teller would be absolutely correct.

Once Osmund had pushed past the comments said, he focused on hitting bludgers. There was such a pleasure in whacking around the heavy metal balls, even when they failed to hit their target. He wondered if he should aim for Cerisier's seeker, like the Cerisier beaters had done last time to his team. It was just a fluke though that the new seeker caught the snitch, he was sure. If Payton hadn't been hit, he would've caught the snitch for sure, Osmund was positive. Nonetheless, he flung a bludger to Henrau's way for good measure.

Annaliese was ready to kick some metal, she knew that it was their captains last term and he definately wanted to win this years cup, and if she could help it she would make it happen. Not just for him...but for the whole team. Montagnard kicked off the inital game with 20 points ahead of Cerisier. This made her pretty happy considering she was able to keep the first few goals that Cerisier had made out of the goal post keeping Monatgnard in the lead. She sighed and knocked away another goal. Laughing she hit another blungder away from the goal,  she smiled cheered on Payton to catch the snitch.

Christian had been playing quidditch for quite some time now but he had never seen the game end in a tie, and his team being on the side that only just barely made it he was not happy with that result. He wasn't as upset as he would be if they had simply lost because Montagnard hadn't won but neither had they and that wasn't okay. This time it would be different for sure, they were going to win because there was simply no other choice, if they lost the cup was gone. He was going to bring that cup to Cerisier before leaving if it killed him.

After shaking hands with Oz and mounting his broom the teen waited for the whistle to sound. The minute it did he was in the air quick as possible but a purple and red clad player just barely beat him to it and freaking scored. Somehow they got it back and scored again but that was going to be their last one if Christian had any say in it. He immediately got a hold of the quaffle and passed it to his fellow chaser who took it down the field some before passing it back to him to make the throw and score. "Let's keep this up guys!" He yelled to his cousin and other chaser.

"First goal of the match goes to Montagnard. Maybe the last match wasn't such a fluke after all. Of course this is only the beginning. Unless one of the seekers miraculously catches the snitch before we all freeze to death. And another goal to Montagnard. Captain d'Angelo do you need a little encouragement? Come over here and I might give you the extra incentive you need." She smiled and nudged Rene. "Anything you have to add or has the snow frozen your mouth?"

She smacked her hands at the first goal for Cerisier. "I guess Cerisier's fearless captain doesn't need my extra incentive after all. Finally they have ten points on the board. Don't forget Christian if you score more I might have a lovely reward for you." Now if she could only come up with some sort of reward for the seeker. The second year, as far as Linette could tell, had none of the talent of Louise. Still, it didn't mean she couldn't catch the snitch if Johnson froze to his broom.

Post by Quentin D'Angelo Fri Dec 13, 2013 4:36 pm

After tying with Montagnard last time, Quentin knew it was fine time to step up the game. He, himself, had failed doing his best performance, only managing a measly goal, whereas the Cerisier seeker was the only one who kept them from failing entirely. This being Christian's last year of being captain, Quentin would rather freeze in the brisk weather that day than let his beloved captain and cousin down.

With a new determination set in his head, Quentin was already off and on fire, along with his fellow chasers. Maybe he failed to get the first goal of the game, but he helped out with the first goal for Cerisier, and helped Cerisier gain two others for that matter. He grinned to himself, knowing he did a good job. He didn't care if Marie-Laure was smug with herself for scoring so much last game. He'd make her know how amazing he was at quidditch.

Disappointingly, his bludger missed the new seeker, whom Osmund was already starting to dislike, all because she was far better than the one that Cerisier team had had before. He just hoped that Payton actually knew what he was doing and hadn't just lucked out those other games because Cerisier had a horrible seeker.

He could've persisted in trying to take out Henrau, but found bigger fish to fry. He decided, for the time being, that the seeker's success was a fluke and she was hardly a threat, unlike the Cerisier chasers, who were now starting to rack up the points. He would be damned if Cerisier outscored them again, making their snitch mean nothing, in the end.

Montagnard wasn't doing so hot this game, they had done better last game. Payton hoped he'd catch the snitch this game and wouldn't get hurt again. The chasers were working hard, but it seemed like Cerisier's were working harder. "We can do it guys!" It was better to cheer on your team than remain silent. He hoped the encouragement would help his team perform better.

Cerisier scored once more before Montagnard got their hands on the quaffle and scored. "Good job guys!" He was now focused on finding the snitch. It was difficult as the snow began to fall harder. It made it more difficult to find the snitch in all the flurry snow.

The Montagnard chasers were not as on fire as they were last game and this really annoyed Marie-Laure. No mater how much she or her fellow chasers scored the Cerisier Chasers had not just caught them up but passed them. She could not let them catch up. She couldn't bare to have Quentin D'Angelo do better than her.

She managed to score again only to have one of the Cerisier chasers score again barely ten minutes later. "Johnson could you hurry up and catch that snitch," she shouted. "We're all freezing on our brooms out here." She glanced at the scoreboard and went for the quaffle again. Maybe if they at least caught up to Cerisier it wouldn't be so bad should by some miracle the Cerisier chaser grab the snitch again. Who was she kidding? A loss was still a loss. Marie-Laure didn't want another loss.

Stephie could see the bludger coming for her and quickly moved out of the way. If she kept this up then maybe she wouldn't have plan how to explain to her family she needed a broom. The school brooms seemed to be in perfectly fine working order. Hopefully she, as seeker, would also be in perfectly fine working order and catch that snitch.

She brushed snow away from her face and blinked as she continued to search for the snitch, occasionally glancing over at the other seeker to see where he was at. Stephie wasn't thinking so much that she had to catch the snitch for her captain as she just had to catch the snitch to win the game. She hadn't been with the team long enough to form any affection for the other members.

It was with some surprise that she realised the golden ball was fluttering just above her head and Stephanie just reached up and grabbed it. "Oh," she exclaimed. "I think we've won."

Paige wasn't sure how she felt about the last game ending in a tie, quite frankly she had never seen such a thing. Cerisier hadn't won but neither had Montagnard so the blonde was confused on how she was supposed to feel about it all. She decided to forget the last game even happened and start this game anew, they would come out swinging and show Cerisier they can't rely just on their little seeker to win them a game, or tie. As the team walked out on the field Paige was idly tossing her bat in the air a bit waiting for the captains to shake hands and for Professor Bowen to finish her pregame speech. Once all of that was completed she gripped the handle tight and mounted her broom. With the whistle she was in the air ready to cause some havoc for the players in green and blue.

The purple and red parts of the crowd erupted in cheers when the first two goals were scored by Montagnard. "Keep it up guys!" She yelled cheerfully before smacking an iron ball towards a passing chaser of the opposite team. Her efforts seemed to be in vain though when Cerisier started racking up the points and catching the blasted snitch.

Finally it seemed Ceriseir had found some luck and Christian and his chasers were starting to make a strong comeback. He knew that many quidditch fans believed that unless they scored hundreds of points the chasers were unnecessary but he didn't believe that to be true. This wasn't just because he was a chaser and thought highly of himself, though we'd be lying if we didn't say that was part of it, but even before he played himself he thought that chasers making  comeback like they were this game gave the other players enough hope to play on. If one team is scoring a ton of points than the other team's seeker probably won't be too positive about winning but the team scoring will have a seeker motivated to win. Though this isn't always true, like last game, he thought it was a good point.

Christian threw the quaffle to his cousin just in time to avoid a bludger that nearly took him out. He yelled some form of encouragement to his players as he flew by to meet the chasers at the goals. He tossed a glance up to the announcers box at the mention of him and made a mental note to remember to collect. When they finally took the lead the whistle was blown and everyone turned to see who had the snitch. The Cerisiers in the crowd roared when they all saw the small girl with the snitch. Back on the ground Christian praised his new seeker with a bright smile.

Quentin had to admit there was a part of the game in which he was a bit nervous for their team. The Chasers and himself were doing an excellent job, but after the unusual fluke from last game, he was worried they'd end up in a tie again. If that happened, then everything rested on the last game of the year to tell who would win the cup and he was determined to make it Cerisier for his beloved cousin.

Between him and the other chasers, they were collecting a handsome amount of points, which was certainly encouraging after he had failed to do so horribly last game. He didn't know what happened, but at least now it was clear he was back on his game. Maybe he had forgotten to wear his lucky socks last match, which he obviously didn't forget this round. Sure enough, the socks worked their magic lucky powers and their own seeker had caught the snitch. A grin pulled onto his face. He couldn't believe that they actually won.

"Cerisier is starting to pull ahead of Montagnard which proves the last match was a fluke and the Cerisier team had head colds or something else equally contagious." She paused. "Whatever the problem was it didn't get passed onto me so maybe the captain was just having an off day and the other two were contagious." Christian just might kill her for that comment so Linette was going to have to come up with a plan fast to charm him when he did catch up with her.

"Hollow hits a bludger at Henrau and misses. Actually she moved. That's gotta be the advantage of being small. You move faster than a speeding bludger. Can she also move faster than a speeding snitch. We shall see. By the way, Cerisier is still ahead of Montagnard at 40 points to Montagnard's 30. Cerisier scores again. Now Montagnard. They keep on scoring. Both sides. Wrong. Cerisier has pulled that little bit further ahead. And now they also have the snitch. What a lucky find for Henrau. Smart kid for looking up. Final scores are 50 to Montagnard and 220 to Cerisier. There is no doubt that Cerisier are the winners today. See you all again next time and Captain D'Angelo I'll see you much sooner."

Charon had started to lose interest in quidditch. He still loved the sport. It was fun and exciting, but after being embarrassed like he'd been the week before, it was hard not to be down on the sport. Nethertheless, Charon laced up his gear and hurried out to the pitch. He wanted the drive back. Cerisier had to win today, just to prove they could win without Louise. Weird-he thought for a moment. He didn't really miss her anymore. After spending a year trying to be more than friends with the girl, now that she'd been gone for a while there was no more feelings towards her. Which was good progress from before. It was also even more reason to win this game. "Come on guys!" He yelled.

Rene was humming to himself a Christmas song as he waited for the match to start. A tie last game had been one of the most remarkable things he'd ever seen. He really wanted to see Montagnard come back from that and still be as dominating as ever, but this game worried him. Bounce back games were always tough games. Finally he began to call the game along side Linette. When she nudged him, he was a little startled. "Uh, Christian I will not be giving you that same incentive, sorry?" He chuckled and made a comment about the snow possibly making the snitch even more elusive to grip onto for the seekers.

Charon had managed to help keep Cerisier's lead along with the Chasers who had been amazing in his opinion. He actually hadn't even been paying attention to the seeker action when he heard the Cerisier students burst out in ecstatic applause that made him turn his head. The new seeker, Stephanie, had caught the snitch. He applauded from his broom as well. Seeing the young girl catch the snitch reminded him of what it was like to get his first block in a game. It made you feel so good about yourself and made you want to continue to push yourself as hard as you could. He grinned, that passion he'd been lacking due to the game before had been brought back with a win today.

Montagnard and Cerisier had been neck and neck all game. This really had Rene completely invested. He was being a hugely biased announcer today, but he wanted to have Montagnard win this game so badly. Then that hope came to an abrupt end. "And Cerisier seeker Stephanie Henrau has caught the snitch ending the game and giving us the opportunity to go inside and drink warm butterbeer. It's been like announcing in a snow globe today." He added with a cold shiver shooting straight down his spine. "Congratulations to Cerisier from bouncing back from an abysmal performance in the previous game at the hands of your keeper, who I could see losing his job to a reserve player next year."

Annaliese was worried for Payton, this was the second game that they hadn't won with him catching the snitch, Oz was probably furious. Since the teams had tied the first game, she wasn't exactly sure what would happen if Montagnard were to win the next match because then the whole score would be 2-2 with whole tied match put into play. She sighed and flew down to the ground, the team was certainly in for it when they saw the captain. It was his last year and he was determined to win this years cup, and if he did not then his seventh year would be ruined aside from his normal fowl mood. She watched the disappointed Montagnard players come down from the air. She glanced over at the rejoiceful Cerisiers and rolled her eyes. "Stupid...they won't win I'll make sure of it!" She spoke softly to herself. She was determined.

Paige chased towards a bludger just barely getting there before the Cerisier beater. She smacked it towards a green and blue clad player nearby with all her might. It wasn't going to matter anyways for right after after her bat made contact with the iron ball the whistle was blown and the game was over. As always heads swiveled to see who had the small gold  in hand. Unfortunately, today the small fork from the opposite team had it. "fudge!" She exclaimed frustrated. She made ut back to the ground and dismounted her broom and starting following their beloved captain back to the changing rooms. She wanted so bad to make him proud and she was running out of time to do so.
