Cerisier vs. Montagnard; round II Empty Cerisier vs. Montagnard; round II

Post by Professor Bowen Thu Jun 20, 2013 1:15 pm

Time had passed since the first game of the season happened enough for the leaves to fall off of the trees and for a heavy blanket of snow to fall upon the ground. It was the winter game, the quidditch game before players and students alike got a break from school and were allowed to go home for the holiday. She expected none of this to have a negative effect on her teams today and wanted to see admirable playing that could top last game. Not that she was disappointed in the teams from last game, as she noticed the new players had settled in well and improved since their tryouts, she was just always pushing for the best.

Outside the wind was wailing and the snow failed to cease. The snowstorm was irrelevant, though. Quidditch was never cancelled no matter what the weather or what the conditions. Bowen would hold a Quidditch game even if the world was ending. "Hats, scarves and gloves are permitted this game and suggested. I don't want to see any players receiving frostbite this game, alright?" She spoke to the two teams. "I also expect to see improvement from players, if you guys are hoping to keep your positions for next season. I know holiday is coming up, but try to stay focused and make this a good game?" She all but pleaded of the teams.

"Cerisier is well on their way to winning the Quidditch cup," She turned to face the green and yellow team, offering a smile of approval. "So if Montagnard has any hopes to have a chance of winning the cup, you better start pushing yourselves." She looked towards the reds and purples, hoping to inspire them. She was pretty unbiased when it came to teams, unlike the announcer, whom she shot a glance to, "Useful commentary, Ms. Puchard. People want to know what is going on in the game, whether or not their team is winning." She reminded the girl before turning out to the field and being bombarded with wind a snow.

"Let the game begin!" She tossed the quaffle up into the air, watching it sway a bit in the wind. This was sure to be an interesting game.

Cerisier vs. Montagnard; round II Empty Re: Cerisier vs. Montagnard; round II

Losing last game had only fired Osmund up even more. He couldn't accept a loss like that but allowed the excuse that him and much of his team were still new whenever people asked for feedback on the game. "Not again!" He said to his team. He wouldn't allow another loss to go by without some serious reprehending, and this time it would be more than fifty push-ups and extra drills in practice.

He didn't care if he came across as scary to his team. He wasn't there to make friends. He was there to play and win so his father could be proud of him. Snow storm or not, Montagnard would kick some serious ass in this game.

"If your scarves or whatever it is you wear to keep warm start to get in the way, I expect you to take them off and deal with the weather," He said to his team. He'd rather they all come down with sicknesses after the game and win than to play it safe and lose.

With that said, he followed the professor and took to the sky. He had to admit he was pretty proud of his chasers last time and wasn't too worried about them this time. Once again, it was Montagnard that was first to get to the quaffle, even with snow and wind blowing at their faces. He smiled approvingly and then flew off to find a bludger, wanting to be ready to pound a Cerisier as soon as the quaffle wondered into their possession.

Cerisier vs. Montagnard; round II Empty Re: Cerisier vs. Montagnard; round II

It had been wonderful to see a win by Cerisier in the last match and Linette hoped she would be able to announce a second win for that team in this one.  She was counting on victory for her house. She was also determined to see if she could actually get the Montagnard team to actually complain loudly to her regarding her bias.

Linette had it all planned out in her mind. She did wonder though if Professor Bowen was cryptically telling her not to be so biased in her commentary or not.  After all, last time she had done exactly as the professor instructed.  No talk of anything but the game in front of her and the scoring.  Maybe she should do exactly as instructed and make this the most boring commentary in the history of Beauxbatons.

First step was to tell everyone what they already knew.  "Good morning everyone and welcome to this cold windy snowstorming day.  I hope you remembered to rug up well.  The players certainly are.  Of course today's teams, as always, are Montagnard and Cerisier.  As you may remember in the last match, Cerisier won with 200 points to Montagnard's measly 70.  Can they succeed again today?  Or will Montagnard's seeker actually seek and find the snitch before Cerisier's seeker does?  Professor Bowen has tossed the quaffle in the air and the game has begun.  Who will be the first team to score a goal?"  That certainly was very dull and boring and obeyed the ever instruction given by the professor.  Linette was also quite proud of the fact she had not sounded biased at all.  The next step was to see who would yawn first.  Thinking of that, she yawned very loudly into the enchanted microphone.

Cerisier vs. Montagnard; round II Empty Re: Cerisier vs. Montagnard; round II

Annaliese was a little wary and sore from everything that had happened, since the last game they'd been drilled and drilled until they could barley stand let alone fly. She was ready for anything to come at her, she'd block the goal with a close view. She didn't want to be the victim on Oz's wrath again.

As the game went into play,Linette had dropped her biased aura that had been around the first game. Nothing was said that would insinuate that she was rooting for her own house, even though Anna knew that's the way it was. She sighed and waited for the bludger to be thrown her way. She saw it coming towards her and she immediately hit it, sending it bounding away.

Cerisier vs. Montagnard; round II Empty Re: Cerisier vs. Montagnard; round II

With the game started, Professor Bowen was pleasantly surprised with everyone's efforts despite the blizzard happening around them. She was treated to an intense match of equal playing on both sides, seeing that the scores of both of the teams remained about the same until the end, when the snitch was ultimately caught by the Cerisier seeker. Whether it was that fact that the teams were playing with equal skill or her warning towards Linette in the beginning of the game, she was pleased with how un-biased her commentary was this game. "Though perhaps she should work on her enthusiasm..." Bowen noted to herself, and herself only. That was none the matter, however, for all of the players must be cold and tired after that match and desired to retreat back into the warm atmosphere of the school.

Raising the whistle to her mouth, she ended the game with the high pitched sound of it. "Great job everyone! Now please go in and warm up! I don't want to see any of you sick for your next team practices!" She called to the players as they passed by. Speaking of warming up, she could use a warm cup of tea and slippers herself.
