Cerisier vs Montagnard: Round III Empty Cerisier vs Montagnard: Round III

Post by Professor Bowen Sun May 11, 2014 1:26 pm

It was the final game of the season and the professor was excited to see the results of the game. Even though Montagnard had the house cup this year, she expected Cerisier to try their best even though they weren't getting the cup. She could only hope that everyone tried their best. Since some of the players were graduating, Professor Bowen was excited to see who tried out next year. She was also sad to see the seventh years leave, she wished them the best of luck. She hoped that at least one of them would continue to play qudditch when they reached adulthood.

It was a great day to have a final day, the sun was shining bright and the sun was out. She let out a soft sigh and smiled up at the sun. There was no ways she'd hear any complaints from either team or the announcers. It was such a beautiful day. There were large posters of all of the seventh years hanging over the edge of the stands. This included not only the captain Quentin D'Angelo and Marie-Larue Sylvian, but also the seventh year beater for Montagnard, Paige Bellerose and the seventh year announcer Caleb Miller. This showed much more spirit that the previous years where most didn't do anything for seventh years let alone the announcers, it made her happy to see such spirit.

"Good luck with your final game," she said to both teams before going through her usual speech. "I almost forgot," a wide smile grew on her face. "Our new captains are....Mabel Miller and Stephanie Henrau! I bet you'll both do a great job as captains." She blew her whistle and released the balls. The game had begun.

Announcers: Caleb Miller and Fane Blevins

"Ahhhh," cried out Fiona who then dramatically covered her eyes, "bright sun. Quick Mabel. Make sure you have extra cover. Sun's bad for a vampire's complexion." She quickly shut up as Professor Bowen was about to speak. A grin came over Fiona's face at the announcement of next year's captains. The real fun was going to begin next year as she was sure Mabel would be even tougher than Marie-Laure. Oh the fun to be had.

Right now though Fiona had a match to survive under the Captaincy of Marie-Laure Sylvian, the witch who last match had told her to stay out of the way. Fiona was quite happy to oblige and would do so again this match. At least it was a nice day and she thought she could quite easily stay on her broom. She had survived the snowy wind. How could she fall in sunny sun? "Mabel you go and hit 'em all," she cried out before carefully pushing herself off the ground.

Stark was so pleased with the way the year had gone in the way of quidditch, they had won the first two matches meaning they had clinched the cup. In his first to years on the team they had done this twice, he wished to think that he had hand in ensuring this happened though he knew most of it was their amazing captain. Too bad that amazing captain was on her way out after this year. Professor Bowen announced the new captains and when she said Mabel was to be the new captain he looked over at her with a bright smile and wide eyes, he gave her double thumbs up before mounting his broom.

When the whistle was blown he was off and had the quaffle before anyone else could get it. Triumphantly he took it off towards the Cerisier goal posts as fast as he could. He had an open shot and took it but out of no where the keeper came swooping in and knocked it away. Stark's hopes dropped a bit as he watched a Cerisier chaser fly away with the quaffle, but he quickly recovered to give them chase.

It was the final match and the day was perfect. Montagnard had already won the cup and so the pressure was off. Marie-Laure even left off from giving Fiona advice on where to be during the match. The witch should have gotten the message by now and Marie-Laure could only but hope she quit at the end of the year. Let someone with talent take her place so that Montagnard could continue its success. At least the choice of captain was a safe one. Mabel was the choice Marie-Laure herself would have made. She didn't know what Stephanie Henrau would be like as a captain but she was certain she wouldn't be as good as Mabel.

The game had begun and already Montagnard was in possession and lost it again with a failed attempt to score. "Don't worry about it Stark," she called out, "it's only the start of the match." Yes. Winning one more time would be good but for once Marie-Laure was not going to stress about it. She had bigger worries coming up than winning a Quidditch match when her team's overall win was already confirmed. Of course it would be nice to triumph over Quinn one more time and if this match ended the way Marie-Laure hoped she would make sure to rub it in.

Stephanie was far too focused on the game ahead to pay much attention to what Professor Bowen was saying. The number of games in a row she'd failed to catch the snitch was humiliating and now she was beginning to question her own abilities. Had those first games only been a fluke? What was she going..."huh?" she asked vaguely as she heard her name mentioned. The last words she didn't miss and Stephanie stared blankly at the Quidditch professor. Had she said what she thought she'd said? Captain? Stephanie was to be the next captain?

There wasn't any time to digest the news before she had to be up in the air. Once in position she had plenty of time to mull over the latest trouble coming her way. Captain of a team which had not won any games for what seemed like forever. This match was no longer the focus on Stephanie's mind. Cerisier had already lost anyway with Montagnard's two wins for the year. Next year was going to be awful.

Mabel acted as if her sister wasn't even on the team, she had had enough of her little remarks and she was going to tune them out now. She had forgotten about the whole vampire thing and was surprised that Fiona had remembered. She perked up a bit when she heard her name, a smile grew on her face when she discovered she would be captain next year. It was really no surprise, she would make an excellent captain. She looked over towards the Cerisier seeker and smirked. "Looks like I have to continue to be mean to you since you're going to be captain too." Pity, she was going to start acting nicer to her since they had talked on the way to the Village.

The whistle blew and Mabel kicked off the ground. It was time to win another game, they had already won the cup. It was time to take it even further and win all three games again.

Fane had never seen it so sunny in spring. In fact, it was a bit overkill to the point where it was actually annoying, and Fane was thankful that he decided to wear that hat Stark had given him to shade his eyes from the sun.

He never understood why they had to have three games when the winner of the cup was already prominent. Even if Cerisier won today, it wasn't like it made any difference. Honestly Fane had better things to be doing than announcing this game, but there was no way getting out of it. He just hoped that this one would be a quick one.

He looked towards his fellow announcer, wondering if he was ready to being. "Hey, how are you doing?" He asked in the privacy of the announcer's box, flashing the blonde haired boy a smile. "It's good to see you again," he added, with a wink and then turned towards announcing the game.

"Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen and welcome to the final Quidditch match of this school year," Fane started with the usual spiel. "It appears that Bowen has announced the new captains for next year and, for those who missed it, Cerisier will be lead by Stephanie Henrau and Montagnard, by the lovely Mabel Miller," Fane relayed. He was happy that Mabel was chosen for captain. He knew she'd kick all those Montagnard's asses into shape and would be happy doing so as well.

Though Quinn knew full well his team was not taking home the cup that day, he still went to the pitch with a good attitude. He had to set an example for his successor captain and the rest of the team that when the goings got tough, they had to persist. It was a shame though that his last few years on the team had been full of losses, but he supposed that it was only a sign that he should give up on Quidditch upon graduation. Of course he'd still play for fun, but having a career as a professional quidditch player was completely out of the question.

"You'll do great!" Quinn congratulated Stephanie Henrau. She was a hard worker and he knew he'd be leaving the team in good hands.

He was disappointed to lose the first goal of the match, but that seemed to be a common trend. Now that Quentin had already lost, he had nothing more to lose. He tackled a red-purple clad player for the quaffle and sent it along towards the other side of the pitch. Sure enough, one of the other chasers landed it in the goal, which made Quinn smile. He was just going to enjoy this last game and it didn't matter if they won or not.

The day was a bit too sunny, even for Caleb. He wished he would have worn his sunglasses or a hat. He was unprepared for the harsh sunlight nor were his eyes. He was also unprepared to see Fane so he was a bit caught off guard when he spoke to him. "Oh, hey," he said shyly, the sun wasn't the only thing that was making his face red. "I'm doing better," he said softly. He was a bit nervous about seeing the younger boy after what had happened between them. "We should catch up before I graduate."

He turned to the game, a smile on his face even though the sun was making it hard for him to see. "Let's hope some clouds come so this sun will go away. Maybe a nice sprinkle would make the game interesting." He clapped his hands together when the professor announced his younger cousin as the new Montagnard captain. He knew she would do great. "Good job, Mabel!"

"The first goal goes to Montagnard," he stated, he secretly hoped that Montagnard would win again. But even if they didn't, they'd still get the cup. "Good team work, Cerisier. I'd also like to comment on the amazing posters that you guys made." He grinned, it was nice to see that he was included even though he wasn't a quidditch player. "I think Beauxbatons has the greatest fans."

This day was perfectly lovely and Christine was certain to play much better than she had ever done. She had her own bat and broom and no wind or snow. No rain and the stands looked beautiful with posters of all the seventh year players and announcer. It really was a most thoughtful thing and she hoped the same would be done for herself the day she played her last game on this pitch.

Then came the announcement and Christine found it impossible to contain her excitement. "Stephanie," she shrieked and launched herself at her sister. "Congratulations. This is so wonderful." She came to her senses as she realised she had dropped her important equipment. Christine scrambled to pick up both bat and broom in time but still managed to lag behind Professor Bowen's whistle.

"I will do really well today," she called out to her captain once she was up in the air. How could she not when there were so many wonderful things about this match. Certainly Cerisier had lost over all but that was not going to dampen her enthusiasm and attempts to hit bludgers at Montagnard players.

Mabel beamed with pride, everyone knew she deserved the captain position and she had got it. Her hard work had not gone unnoticed, she got what she deserved. The only other person that was qualified for the job was Stark, but he would be a lot softer on everyone than she would. Montagnard needed that push so they'd perform better.

She held her bat tightly and swung at a bludger that threatened to hit a Montagnard player. She aimed towards a blue and green clashed player before speeding off to help out another teammate. She had the feeling that Montagnard was going to win again, they'd win all three games.

She would make everyone practice very hard when they came back from summer break. She would be a great captain, she just knew it.

It was the final year for many people in quidditch this term, it was clear her year was a big fan of quidditch. This would be the blonde beaters last year as well as her best friend and captain's last year, her boyfriend and opposing captain's last year, and finally another of her friends and cheerful announcer's last year. It brought a smile to her face when she walked onto the pitch to find a large image of all four of them hanging from the edge of the seats around the pitch.

Montagnard was guaranteed to take the cup home for her and Marie-Laure's last year but that didn't mean they were about to take it easy on the Cerisiers. Paige loved the bright sun today, even though it was clear most people found it obnoxious. The perky blonde just loved the sun, it warmed her skin that was beginning to tan a bit and put her in the best mood in the world. Once the whistle was blown she was off and hitting bludgers as quickly as she could. The scoring was pretty even once again this match but Paige planned to change that with a serious swing of a bludger straight towards a Cerisier player, not sure which one though with the bright sun.

"Mabel I didn't know you cared," Fiona shouted when her sister hit a bludger away from her direction. It was apparent that even though the Montagnard players were aware Fiona didn't do much the Cerisier beaters were not. A pity that when Fiona was incapable of moving fast. She might fall if she did.

After that close call she went back to what she had previously been doing. That is, practising sitting on her broom without holding onto the handle and examining her finger nails. At the same time she was planning ways in which to make practices more difficult for Mabel in the new school year. Sure she would be cranky but that was nothing new for Fiona.

With her focus completely off the game, Fiona failed to see the quaffle coming her way until it hit her in the head. "Help," she called out as it rebounded and she grabbed onto the handle of her broom then somehow twisted round so that she was hanging upside down.

Quinn beamed at the poster of himself which grinned back at him. He was touched, really. It was a lovely way to send him off as his final year of Quidditch, even if he was going to leave empty handed. However, that didn't mean he was just going to let Montagnard take all three wins. Cerisier wasn't a bad team, after all. He wasn't sure why they accumulated so many losses, and perhaps that was part of the reason why, but they were all good players. That's why they were there on the team.

The blue haired boy soared across the pitch, dodging bludgers and opposing players before handing off the quaffle to the next player. He helped them score a goal and then nearly immediately scored another. A grin pulled onto his face. He felt so free and alive and this is why he liked the game. It didn't matter who won, but it sure felt good when they did.

Stephanie wasn't overly comforted by the words of encouragement coming from the current captain. Would she do great? What Mabel had to say Stephanie chose to ignore. Truth be told she preferred the other girl to be mean. Nice Mabel was much creepier. Almost like the girl was trying too hard rather than be genuine.

"Cool it Chris," she warned her sister as she jumped back from the over excitement of the younger Henrau. Now there was the other issue of captaincy. Having to make sure she neither favoured nor was harder on Christine than any other player on the team.

So far up in the air the game was going well for both sides. At this rate she was going to really have to improve on her recent performance. If she wanted Cerisier to finish with at least one win she needed to do her part. So far though no sign of a flicker of gold had appeared. Stephanie was so focused on finding it she had to use some fancy moving when she registered the bludger headed right for her. "CHRISTINE," she called out, "LEARN HOW TO HIT A BLUDGER."

Marie-Laure did not like the scores. She much preferred Montagnard to be ahead of Cerisier. Too many times it'd been the other way around. Winning was good but winning by a larger margin than 150 points was better. Her eyes narrowed on what she considered the cause for the poor scoring. "MILLER," she shouted, "LEARN HOW TO STAY ON A BROOM."

Uncaring of how to help the other girl accomplish that she flew off again, determined to stop the Cerisiers from getting too far ahead. With Fiona being hopeless as ever it was only Stark and herself who could achieve that goal. They did it last game. They could do it again. And with that in mind Marie-Laure managed to score again. Not enough to overtake but game wasn't over yet.

"I'd be glad to," Fane replied, grinning at the blonde haired boy in the announcer's box with him. Of course Fane's idea of 'catching up' would be different from Caleb's, but the dark haired boy was certain he wouldn't mind too much. In fact, last time it appeared that even Caleb enjoyed himself.

Fane slammed his fist on the table as he watched one of the Montagnard players fall off and hang on for dear life to her broom. He should've made that bet this game. He would've won and Merlin knew the things he could bet with Caleb. "Looks like Montagnard is having a little trouble hanging on to things," Fane commented. "I wonder if she's going to drop? That's a long way down. Captain D'Angelo was not in good shape after his tumble," Fane reminded those of the Cerisier captain's blunder during his first game in which he was captain. "looks like he still has yet to get a hold of things, though the score for Cerisier does look a bit promising right now," Fane relayed, looking at the scoreboard which placed Cerisier in the lead.

Trent was flying around like a mad hatter. He was focusing on passing the quaffle around and while he was very happy for Stephanie. He kind of wanted to prove himself to be the better player. Which wasn't too fair. They played two strikingly different positions. Trent zoomed at a spherical splash of red in his peripheral and felt the smack of the ball against his hand. He zigzagged his way between a bludger and a couple other players before scoring. He then stole a quaffle again, but passed this one off to another player who subsequently scored. "Nice!" He yelled to the other player and got back on defense.

The majorly bright sun that was beating down over the whole pitch was as bright as Stark's current attitude. His team was doing very well and the game wasn't going too fast or too slow, it was the ideal quidditch match. The blonde boy looked up at the announcers box on his way by with a smile at his best mate and the leaving seventh year announcer. He was happy to be able to help his team score, but when Fiona almost fell off her broom he lost his concentration.

Before they knew it Montagnard had lost their lead and Cerisier was quickly pulling ahead. It had been awhile since anyone had seen them ahead but no one seemed to worried as the cup was already won by Montagnard. Stark tried to make sure his fellow teammate was back upright before chasing after the quaffle once more.

The final quidditch match of the year, also known as Paige's last quidditch match at Beauxbatons and probably last quidditch game ever was in full swing, and hopefully almost over. Cerisier was starting to pull ahead which actually didn't bother Paige much at all, she was happy that they could get a bit of good news for a change before the end of the year, especially for Quinn who was playing his last. That didn't mean however that Paige wasn't about to try and knock one of them out of the sky if she caught a bludger in the right spot.

Lucky for her she found exactly that and she quickly chased after it before smacking it away right before it almost hit one of her own players. However that player easily evaded it, a bit too easy if you ask her, and scored for their team. That just fueled the blonde to try harder with her next bludger.

Things were going well for Cerisier and if the chasers kept it up then maybe the team could still win one match regardless of whether or not she caught the snitch. Stephanie shook her head at that thought. No. She'd missed every match for the past two years. She did not want to miss it yet again.

There were more dings at either end of the pitch and still no snitch. Stephanie was getting anxious. It didn't matter anymore about how well the chasers were doing. Things could change in a matter of seconds. Speaking of seconds was that what she thought it was? Right. She had to get there and Stephanie was soon chasing after the small gold flutter. There was only the slimmest of chances she would make it before the other seeker. And damn. She did not make it.

How many losses in a row was that now? Too many and Stephanie now had the added pressure of captaincy next year. How was she going to make her team listen when she couldn't even catch a snitch?

Trent sighed when the whistle sounded and Cerisier didn't have the snitch. It was scary that he was used to this now. He didn't totally blame Stephanie either. It wasn't her fault the snitch kept getting away from her, well it was a little bit, but not to the point where she deserved to be ridiculed. Trent had himself a decent individual performance and right now that was what mattered to Trent Davies. He flew over to Stephanie. "It's alright, Henrau. You'll catch three in a row next year. I'm sure of it." He said with a polite smile even if he still was jealous over the whole captaincy thing.

"I am trying Stephie," Christine shouted back. It was not at all fair for her sister to single her out. There were two beaters and she was not captain yet. Now Christine wondered if perhaps she should dread next year when Stephanie will be in the position of authority.

Determined to show her sister that she could indeed hit a bludger this match Christine went out of her way to find a bludger to hit. In this weather it should not be so hard. One loud crack and the bludger moved one foot. "I did it," the witch called but was drowned out by another excitement. That of Montagnard catching the snitch again. And no no-one would notice that small Christine Henrau had managed to hit a bludger whilst keeping a hold of her bat and her balance.
