Cerisier vs Montagnard: Round II Empty Cerisier vs Montagnard: Round II

Post by Professor Bowen Mon Oct 28, 2013 8:32 am

It was time again for another quidditch match. Snow covered the ground and warmer clothes were needed for this game. The snow formed a small layer on the ground, so it wouldn't be much of a problem. The sun was shinning but that didn't help the cold weather any. There were a few clouds here and there, there was little chance of any more snow falling from the sky.

Once every student was seated, the professor smiled a cheerful smile. She went through her usual beginning talk, wished both teams luck, and blew her whistle while releasing the balls. It was anyone's game and this was going to be an interesting match.

Game closes on Nov. 5th
Announcers are Linette Puchard and Rene Pendlebrook

Cerisier vs Montagnard: Round II Empty Re: Cerisier vs Montagnard: Round II

Linette rubbed her gloved hands together and made sure that her Cerisier scarf was properly around her neck so that it wouldn't fall off in the middle of her commentary. She looked at her fellow commentator. He and Caleb needed her to guide them in the art of commentating so that they were as good as her after she graduated. "Now young Rene, the first rule of announcing is to make sure you annoy as many players as you possible can." She glanced down at the quidditch professor. "Make that the second rule. The first is announcing the scores and what's going on."

With that advice given she turned on the enchanted microphone. It was time for the match to begin. "Hello wizards and witches out there in the stands on this cool winter's day. Welcome to the second match of the year. Can Cerisier recover from their loss or will Montagnard continue to show they have the superior seeker? They certainly don't have the superior chasers or keeper." She paused as she looked around for Osmund before adding, "or beaters for that matter."

Cerisier vs Montagnard: Round II Empty Re: Cerisier vs Montagnard: Round II

After the win for Montagnard, Payton was feeling better about this school year. He had been feeling incredibly home sick and he was starting to recover. He hoped that they would win once more, but that all depended on how the teams played today.

Once the game begun, it took no time for Cerisier to score the first goal. It seemed that Cerisier was determined to win this game. Payton just hoped Montagnard would do their best and win the game. Payton wasn't going to give up easily and he was ready to find that snitch. Payton took to the sky and had his eyes peeled for the golden ball.

This game Marie-Laure was determined to do much better than the last game. It'd been annoying to have one of the announcers rub it in over how much better the Cerisier chasers had done. Especially in light of the fact that one of those chasers was Quinn. She had to be better than him at everything, not just academically. She would do it too.

The game had barely begun and already Cerisier had scored. Marie-Laure scowled and gritted her teeth. This is not how she wanted things to be. Montagnard just had to outscore Cerisier this time. The third year watched and waited for her opportunity to shine but that had been taken from her as the other two Montagnard chasers exchanged the quaffle between them and failed to score.

Cerisier vs Montagnard: Round II Empty Re: Cerisier vs Montagnard: Round II

Post by Osmund Hollow Fri Nov 01, 2013 7:17 pm

If the brisk weather wasn't enough to put Osmund Hollow in a poor mood, his least favorite announcer wasn't helping matters either. Montagnard had managed to win the first game of the season, which was encouraging given that they were all horribly out of practice, thanks to that blood-sucking bastard (whom was not himself). He was determined to win this second one as well, calling as many practices as possible as soon as the vampire was caught. He worked his team endlessly and didn't appreciate Linette's words degrading Montagnard team and claiming that the only one with some talent is there seeker. Then again, Osmund would surely fall off of his broom from shock if Linette ever said anything in favor of Montagnard.

He wasn't in the mood for talking and figured if every scolding he gave during practices wouldn't motivate his team to play well, him grumbling before the game wasn't going to help out any. He tried to not let the cold get to him as he took off and watched as Cerisier wasted no time in making a few goals. His eyes rolled. "C'mon Sylvian! You're better than this!" He all but whined, then decided he would be better off just hitting people with bludgers. That seemed fun and he found a small smile come to his face as he hit a bludger with better aim and strength than last game.

Cerisier vs Montagnard: Round II Empty Re: Cerisier vs Montagnard: Round II

Charon went into this game feeling great, and a quick lead only capped that off. He was actually kind of bored until he got a chance to make a save, he caught the quaffle and threw it as hard as he could, trying to set up one of his teammates for an easy goal when a bludger collided with it. Charon's eyes widened at the new trejectory of the quaffle. No way. No freaking way in all of Merlin's magic was this about to happen, it sailed right into the left Montagnard goal post. Charon had just scored! He pumped a fist in the air. It was a total lucky, once in a lifetime fluke, but it was amazing.

Cerisier vs Montagnard: Round II Empty Re: Cerisier vs Montagnard: Round II

The last game that they had played was a complete embarrassment to Quentin. Not only did Cerisier lose last time, Quentin had done absolutely nothing to stop it. His hands had been useless in gripping a quaffle and he had managed to score none of the goals that game. He wasn't about to repeat that again this time.

They had started off strong, already in the lead with goals, and Quentin wasn't going to end their streak. He landed another goal before turning to face Marie-Laure with a huge grin. He was feeling a lot better about himself this game and what better way to show his happiness than to shove it in the face of the girl who made him feel like an idiot all the time. "Take that, Sylvian!" He stuck his tongue out at her.

Picking on the opposing team might have been easy for Linette, but it wasn't for Rene. There was hardly anything he could nit-pick about Cerisier, minus their abysmal play by their new seeker. "Cerisier can rack up all the points they want, with the terrible performance by their seeker last week, Montagnard should still be able to pull out a win here." Rene's eyes fixed onto the Montagnard chasers. "Finally some decent offensive pressure from Montagnard! The shot and oh-no! Keeper Winthrop caught the ball and it looks like he'll be going for a long pass down the field to one of Cerisier's chasers and the quaffle has been hit by a bludger! It's heading straight downward into the Montagnard goal post and Cerisier's keeper has added to the lead to put Cerisier up 30 to nothing." Rene sighed, this game could not possibly go worse. "And a couple tallies by the other D'Angelo puts Cerisier up 50 to nothing. Montagnard's play today is nothing short of disastrous."

Marie-Laure glared at Osmund. Normally she didn't mind being yelled at. This time though she took personal offence. "I'm not the only chaser on the team Hollow," she yelled, "and I'm not the one who tried to score that goal." Her captain was blind and she hoped it didn't mean he'd end up hitting bludgers at his teammates.

"That goal shouldn't count," she shouted as Cerisier scored one which had not involved a chaser throwing the quaffle. Bloody Cerisiers were cheating with bludgers now and Marie-Laure was not happy. Quinn rubbing in how well Cerisier were doing didn't help her mood. "Shut your face D'Angelo or I'll shut it for you."

She finally had her hands on the quaffle and was ready to score when a bludger came across her path causing the quaffle to end up in some direction that was not the Cerisier goal hoops. Just wonderful. Her opportunity to score another goal wasted and hearing the ding at the other end of the pitch did nothing for her mood.

Annaliese was feeling pretty confident with the first game of the season they had won. Though everyone on the Quidditch teams were all a little uneasy considering the vampire that was loose around the school ground, she sure hoped that would catch it soon. She was nervous and rarely wanted to even think about going outside to risk her, or any of her team members lives to the blood-sucking menace.

Trying to focus on the game, it was not hard to tell that her play was seriously rusty, not even after a few moments after the snitch was thrown Cerisier made their first goal. Then another, and another, and another... They were making her look like a fool. Gritting her teeth and she lunged to block a shot, but miss causing Cerisier to score a goal and then she heard the cheering of the crowd again. They had scored on her 3 times before she'd turned around giving them a total of 80 points. She felt like a disgrace to her team. 80 to 0...she was gonna get some serious shit from Oz for this. "Help.." she muttered as a small cry for help to the Quidditch gods wishing there was another keeper to help her out.

This game wasn't going to well for Montagnard and Cerisier wasn't letting Montagnard score at all. As if things weren't already bad, it began to snow. Hard. It made it hard to see and it made it more difficult to find the snitch. But the snow didn't seem to stop Cerisier as they scored three more times. Payton was frustrated to say the least. He wanted to win again but that was hard to do when the other team was so determined to show them up.

Payton let out a frustrated grunt and looked around for the snitch. It seemed like it was getting colder out because of the pouring snow. This game had to end soon or they'd freeze. Well, it would just get too cold to play anymore. The faster the game ended, the faster they could go inside and warm up. Payton was now determined to catch the snitch for two reasons, to get out the cold and to possibly win.

Quentin did a small flip on his broom as he bragged to Marie-Laure and tried not to take it to heart when she gave him a near death threat. Maybe he was just getting used to her now. Her and her bad attitude.

"Lighten up, Ms. Marie. You may be better than me academically, but it's clear that I am the better chaser. Just admit it." Perhaps he was getting a bit cocky, but Quentin couldn't help but feel amazing thinking that for once he outshone Marie-Laure.

Between him and the other two chasers, they were really starting to rack up the points. Someone above him was smiling upon him that day as he landed a few more goals and helped his comrades do so too. Montagnard had yet to land a single goal and Quentin was starting to think that it didn't matter that they had a new and very untrained seeker. Whether or not their seeker managed to catch the snitch would be irrelevant if they kept this up and outscored Montagnard.

Cerisier had lost and that was unacceptable. It might not have been so bad if he had played just as bad as the rest of his team, but anyone who had eyes at the last game could have seen him working his butt off to win. All of the points except a few were scored by him, he had even shoved some of the other team to do so. This time they were going to win no matter what it took, he had talked with his beaters a lot during the last practices. Montagnard always seemed to kill them when it came to the bludgers and that needed to change, he had also talked to the chasers cause he could win on his own.

After shaking hands with Oz he took off into the air and was so proud when they had scored so much so early in the game. Some how there was a point scored by their keeper, Christian wasn't going to complain though he was sure he would never see that again. While he wasn't complaining Montagnard was, at least one of them was. The teen flew by the girl with a smirk, "Hey if you guys couldn't keep that weak one out we deserve that point." He called to her on the way by before catching the quaffle his fellow chaser tossed him. This game was looking good, and he was confident in a win.

Linette grinned at the odd score which added to Cerisier's total.  "It so completely does count Sylvian," she called.  "Look at the board. Just goes to show that the Cerisier keeper and beater are better chasers than the Montagnard chasers are too."  If it'd been Montagnard to score in that odd manner though Linette knew she would have been screaming threats through the microphone.  She never said she wasn't a hypocrite.

"Of course we shouldn't focus completely on the poor performance of the Montagnard chasers.  Their keeper is back to falling asleep again after showing some wakeful moments over the last match or two.  Just when we all thought that perhaps Montoya was improving.  By the way Cerisier is now on 80 points to Montagnard's dismal zero.  It looks like Hollow needs to rethink his strategy.  A seeker alone can't win the game for him."

She smirked at the arguing which seemed to be going on between two chasers.  "The younger d'Angelo and Sylvian appear to be having a lovers spat.  Oi you two no flirting on the pitch. On second thought if that's your strategy for scoring d'Angelo keep it up.  Everyone I wish to announce that Cerisier is now at 130 points."  She didn't bother with announcing Montagnard's score which hadn't changed once.

Cerisier vs Montagnard: Round II Empty Re: Cerisier vs Montagnard: Round II

Post by Osmund Hollow Mon Nov 04, 2013 3:41 pm

Osmund couldn't believe what he had just witnessed; the keeper making a goal of his own, and not into his own goal. Somehow the scrawny keeper of Cerisier managed to throw the ball over the whole pitch and landed it into the goal, which pissed Osmund off for a few reasons. The first one being that Cerisier was hammering out goals so quickly that even the keeper managed to score a goal before one of the Montagnard chasers did. The second one being that Montoya couldn't even managed to block that goal, which was surely less well aimed than any of the other shots done by the chasers.

"Bullshit!" Osmund nearly screamed and was on the verge of sending a bludger to enforce his opinion. The only thing that stopped him was his indecision on where to aim it. Should he knock out the keeper who was overstepping his boundaries? Or the announcer who insisted that it was completely legal? He was angry enough to do either, but neither would help out their cause to win.

His bludgers didn't seem to be doing anything to hinder the scoring of Cerisier, for they kept them coming. He was starting to think that they needed a new method of training.

Cerisier vs Montagnard: Round II Empty Re: Cerisier vs Montagnard: Round II

Post by Guest Mon Nov 04, 2013 8:51 pm

Montagnard had won their last game even with so little practice before hand but now all the teams had been able to get practices in. This is when it came down to more than just who got the most practice over the summer, or chance. The last game was not a close game but the chasers were trying to make it so on Cerisier but the Montagnard ones kept coming back up on them. This game was a different story, Montagnard had yet to score anything and Cerisier had 150 points, the bloody chasers had scored that much.

She was infuriated when Charon scored when a bludge hit his rebounded quaffle and it soared through their goal. Out of pure frustration at the low score and that crazy move Paige smacked a bludger as hard as she could towards the blue and green keeper. This time she watched and hoped that it made a hard contact with the boy she considered her best friend. "Payton catch that now!" She called to the seeker, if he didn't catch it now they would still lose.

Cerisier vs Montagnard: Round II Empty Re: Cerisier vs Montagnard: Round II

Post by Guest Mon Nov 04, 2013 9:14 pm

Cerisier was dominating to say the least. Montagnard had yet to score a single point, all Cerisier chasers had scored multiple goals each even there keeper somehow scored some crazy goal. He couldn't begin to imagine how Oz was feeling right now, he knew if he was in that position he might purposely put himself in the middle of a bludgers path and get knocked out so he didn't have to watch the rest of this match. Obviously Osmund was tougher than him for somehow he was still on his broom. Christian was planning on making him wish he wasn't when he scored once more.

That was the important goal that pushed their score over the snitches scoring range. No more feeling like his efforts didn't matter because the snitch would always beat whatever he could do. With another goal he was feeling confident in their win, he doubted that Montagnard would get enough goals now to push that back under the snitch range. He had thought right when he heard the whistle blow, sadly it wasn't his new seeker holding the snitch, but that didn't matter. They had won without having to rely on the seeker.

Paige didn't know what she could do anymore to help her team. She had been knocking bludgers around left and right trying to help but nothing seemed to be stopping the blue and green clad players. The usually happy blonde was starting to get really upset and when the other team scored higher than the snitch would score she wanted to scream. She looked around to see where Payton was, she half wanted to tell him to wait until they got it back down but she didn't think Montagnard was ever going to bring the space between the teams down.

Now that she was worked up Paige was sure she could smack a bludger even harder than ever. She decided to try it out and aimed a bludger at the captain of Cerisier. It almost hit him but he pulled up last minute when the whistle blew and Payton caught to the snitch. The deadly black ball zoomed by the teen and just barely missed, what lucky? The upset thirteen year old flew to the ground to head back with her team.

"Temper, temper Osmund," Linette called out with glee. "Just go hitting bludgers at those wonderful Cerisier chasers instead. Look at how well they are scoring. 150 points already. If Montagnard don't lift their game the obviously strongest side in the school is going to win without needing their very inexperienced seeker."

This game was very one-sided and Linette wasn't sure if she was bored with the way the scores were going or excited when they are all going the way of her house. "Wow. 170 points to Cerisier and 0 to Montagnard. What did I say before? Do any of you recall what I said at the beginning of the match?" She paused as she watched the snitch be caught. "That's right. The only strong member of the Montagnard team is the seeker and even he could not save them from utter failure. Cerisier wins the match with 170 points to Montagnard's 150. For those of you who think that one goal should not have counted it's 160 to 150. Osmund and Sylvian I hate do break it to ya but it wouldn't have made any difference at all. Cerisier wins through the sheer brilliance of their chasers and keeper. Oh and I'm sure their beaters did a fine job of keeping the Montagnard chasers away from the quaffle too."

Annaliese looked up at the score one last time, They had done it! They had caught the snitch...but...their points were less than that of Cerisier..."Damn it all!" Annaliese cursed as she flew to the ground waiting for the earful she was about to get. "God if I only could have blocked those two goals." She criticized herself. She wished the stupid bludgers could have gone towards Linette while she was sitting there being so biased towards their team....she glared and looked at Payton who was coming down. "Good work..." She smiled trying to be somewhat enthusiastic...they had lost the game because she could stop them from scoring..She started towards the locker room taking her hair out of the ponytail and shaking it out, this was just a stressful day.

Charon was not looking in the direction of the bludger Paige had rocketed at him. He was too caught up in their team coasting to victory. When he'd broken his ribs, he'd thought that was the worst pain possible because of how hard it was to breathe, but then his leg flared with the most intense pain he'd ever felt. Which resulted and a half scream as he fell like a stone to the ground making a loud smacking sound as he impacted, which resulted in another yelp of pain. He'd just blanked his opponent from scoring, and now he wouldn't even enjoy the party. He felt woozy, and standing definitely wasn't his friend right now.

Rene was so disappointed in this game. He'd been all excited only to watch his team get their butts whipped. "This game has been an embarrassment to the entire Montagnard house, and thankfully Payton Johnson, the only Montagnard player who has contributed anything to the season allows our suffering to come to an end. With just sloppy execution on the part of Montagnard you have to wonder if it is the lack of leadership from the captain. Berating players openly on the field has done nothing for his cause. If this 'team' manages to win the next game all the credit should fall on Johnson's shoulders. In fact for next season...Captain Johnson has a certain ring to it."
