Montagnard vs Cerisier: Round 1

Another year of quidditch was starting up and Professor Bowen was just as excited as ever. On this particular day though she walked out to the pitch to find that entire field had been painted a very bright Cerisier blue. It was too late to change it back now for the teams were due to come onto the field any minute. She shot a glare up towards the stands where most of the Cerisier's usually sat. It was right about now that she was actually starting to wish that it had been an overcast day instead of this nice sunny day, for the sun was shining on the blue and making it almost blinding. She was sure that this was going to make the job of the players much harder today, especially the seekers. There was nothing to be done about it though she she went about her business of starting the game.

Finally two teams stepped up out the changing rooms and onto the field. She watched the faces of the Cerisier players to see if any of them showed signs that it might have been them. It looked as if they were innocent so she sent another glare to the stands. "Alright captains please shake hands." She said starting the game as usual. "Obviously this blue will make it harder today but I still want you all to play your very best today." She released the snitch, then the bludgers, finally she threw the quaffle up and watched the game begun, before mounting her own broom. She wished the best of luck to both teams today.

After the victory for Cerisier last year Linette hoped to announce another one this term.  The sight of the pitch colour, nothing to do with her, was a good sign of a wonderful season.  She was sure of that.  The only bad sign was the new seeker for Cerisier.  It was rather unfortunate that now the entire school would know there were two Puchards at Beauxbatons.  

"Sunny days are here," Linette trilled into the enchanted microphone, "and I am here to make this particular day even sunnier.  I must say the pitch is a lovely colour.  Have you ever seen such a lovely shade of blue?  Blue sky.  Blue pitch.  Blue eyes.  Well at least some people have blue eyes."  Now hopefully that would leave a few confused looks.  It would match her own confusion as to why she would say eyes as well.

"There are new members on each team thanks to last years graduates.  Now the question is can Cerisier do as well as they did last year with the new seeker who coincidentally has the same last name as me.  I think we may just call her Louise." She smirked at her younger sister.  If only she could have poked her tongue out at the first year.  "She will be up against new Montagnard seeker Payton Johnson so at least it is even as far as experience is concerned.  The rest of the new players will be mentioned during the match if they achieve anything worthy of note. Osmund remember to make sure you don't hit bludgers at your own team members.  We don't want a repeat of last year now do we?"  Well actually she wouldn't have minded if it meant her house won again.

When Payton stepped onto the field, his stomach began to do flips. This was the first game and he hoped he would do well. He hoped his team would win the first game, but he hoped even more that he didn't fall off his broom. He noticed that tthe pitch had been decorated with the Cerisier colors. Maybe him and Sawyer would have to change that. Once he brought up the idea, Sawyer would have to love the idea. Though he didn't want to get in trouble, so he let that thought slip his mind. He didn't need to get in trouble and take the chance of getting kicked off the team.

When the game began, Payton mounted his broom and was off. He flew high above everyone else and looked around for the snitch. The bright sun made it hard to see but at least it wasn't raining or something worse. When his name was said, Payton smiled a little. It made him excited that now everyone knew his name. He searched the stands for his friend and brother, but stopped himself. Focus, he thought. He looked around again in hopes to find the snitch. He watched the game unfold before him. He watched as the other team's chaser threw the quaffle into the hoop. Though they were losing at the moment, Payton had faith in his team.

Cerisier: 10
Montagnard: 0

The day of her first match arrived and Marie-Laure suddenly had stage fright. Had she done right to try-out for a sport she'd never even heard of before buying supplies for this strange school? The fact that she, a first year with no former knowledge of Quidditch, made it on the team either meant there were very few Montagnards who were decent players or she was just extremely good for her age and experience. From what she'd heard Montagnard's track record was dreadful.

Her eyes hurt when she saw the blue pitch. "Such poor taste," she remarked and wrinkled her nose. "I bet they sabotaged the pitch." Though what on earth anyone would hope to achieve by changing the colour was a mystery. Any further thoughts about the pitch had to be put on hold as the game began.

Marie-Laure looked out for the quaffle and was disappointed to see it in the hands of the opposing team. Even worse was when they scored the first goal. That really would not do. She flew in and finally grabbed the quaffle. The first year didn't get very far though and had to throw it to one of the other chasers. Finally Montagnard had points on the board.

Montagnard: 10
Cerisier: 10

The pitch was blue, and Osmund was absolutely livid, though he wasn't showing it due to his conversation he had with Christian during the summer. He asked what he could do to help out his team, since Christian seemed to be so bloody perfect at the job. Christian told him to take things easier and not to yell at all, maybe smile a little bit, overall, just act nice. He'd act nice if his team didn't suck more than leeches. Nonetheless, he promised to keep his cool and when he went to shake the other captain's hand, he offered a smile, though squeezed the boy's hand as hard as possible.

"Alright team. Just because Montagnard is notably the underdogs, doesn't mean you guys can just sit around and accept your fate of losing. You were placed on this team for a reason. So don't suck, alright?" That was inspiring, right? He offered a forced smile before taking to the sky, ignoring Linette's comment about how he had hit his own player last game. "I'll aim towards the announcer's box next time," he whispered beneath his breath.

Montagnard lost the first goal, but made it up with scoring the second goal of the game. Sylvian seemed to have been of some worth, but Johnson looked lost as ever flying around. "Merlin Johnson! I trained you personally! Don't you dare let the blue get to you and focus on the gold!" And the purple and the red, their own colors.

"Bellerose! I don't care who your brother is! I don't care even if you were related to Her Majesty, herself! You're stuck with me as the other beater so get over here!" A bludger was flying nearby and he wanted to use it to get the quaffle back. He wasn't going to let them lose this year again. He wanted some good stories about Quidditch to tell Father when he returned home. He swung the bludger at the chaser with the quaffle. Cerisier scored anyway.

Montagnard: 10
Cerisier: 20

Quentin couldn't believe that he was finally on the quidditch team and for once, playing alongside his cousin rather than against. He grinned up at the older boy he admired so and hung onto every word he said. Christian was always more like the older brother he never had to him, after all.

What was even better was the color of the pitch. Blue! His favorite color. Now he could count his hair color as a tribute to his team rather than just a mistake. He was so giddy about it being his first game that he had completely missed the quaffle being tossed into the air. Fortunately, one of his fellow chasers caught it and was heading towards the goal. He let out a celebratory shout when the ball flew through the hoop.

Finding himself distracted once again, Quinn didn't see that Montagnard had the ball until it was too late. The opposing team scored a goal and the Quaffle was passed from the Keeper to him. This was his chance. He flew towards the opposite side of the pitch, feeling his heart race as now was his big moment, when suddenly he felt a pain in his arm. "Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!" One arm went to touch the injured arm. He must've been hit by a bludger. His vision was starting to be blurred by tears so he tossed the quaffle on to another chaser and let them finish the job for him.

Montagnard: 10
Cerisier: 20

Louise arrived at the game and smiled at the pitch that had been made into a blue paradise. It was positively hilarious. She laughed at the right and flew up into the air. It was her job to catch the snitch and she was determined to find it and catch it.

She was excited as the game started and players were zooming all over the pitch. She was son next to Saywer and smirked. "I plan to win this." She said confidently and zoomed past him around the pitch and towards the snitch. This game would a breeze so long as the measly  Payton didn't get into her way. Which with her determination and training would be a breeze.

Her team was already in the lead and she planed to keep it that way. She glanced at Mr. Doom and Gloom who everyone called Oz, yelling at his team. Smirking she laughed a little bit when her sister announced that he'd accidentally hit one of his own players the year before. With that track record it was no wonder that they won. A little distracted by the initial commentary Payton flew by her. She immediately got her head back in the game and followed after him at a raging speed.

"Would you look at that?" Linette remarked with glee, "Cerisier has scored the first points of the match. Brilliant work there chasers. Sylvian of Montagnard now scores. Apparently the new blood is already proving to be of some worth. Fingers crossed Cerisier's new blood will also prove useful. By the way did you notice that two of the chasers have the same last name? Cerisier's fine Captain Christian D'Angelo and his brother Quentin D'Angelo." Linette couldn't recall Christian ever mentioning a younger brother but it hadn't occur to her he could have been a cousin. Why would it when she had none of those herself?

She clapped her hands. "Cerisier has scored again bringing them back ahead of Montagnard by ten points. I think that may have made Hollow a little upset as he's hit a bludger at the younger D'Angelo. FINALLY OSMUND YOU'VE GOT WHO TO AIM IT AT." Unfortunately.

"Scores are currently at 20 points to 10. All eyes are on the quaffle. Though maybe they should also be on the bludgers too." She glanced up at the two seekers. "Make that two sets of eyes should be on something else entirely which they would be if it turned up. LOUISE MAKE SURE YOU BEAT JOHNSON OR I MIGHT PUT BOOKS IN YOUR BED."

Playing Quidditch was much better than any sport Marie-Laure had ever played before. Even better than bike races with her friends back home. There were bludgers to dodge and scores to be made. Even with Cerisier's past victory Marie-Laure was certain Montagnard could win. That was last year and both teams apparently had new players. Couldn't it be possible that her team ended up with the best new talent? Only time will tell.

She caught the quaffle again and threw it to one of her fellow chasers before catching it again. They were even with the apparent favourites once more. What would the biased announcer say to that? Already the things coming out of her mouth troubled the Montagnard chaser a little. Had the captain really hit a bludger at one of his own team mates last year? Marie-Laure glanced in his direction and decided it was entirely possible. Maybe the person in question had overly annoyed him or something. Though, if that were the case, then why not hit one at the announcer too? She had to be more annoying than anyone else on the pitch.

Montagnard: 20
Cerisier: 20

Charon grinned as he ascended, looking at the bright blue turf. He confidently stood in front of the posts as the match began, he watched the flurry of colors zoom around him. Finally some of the colors got closer and closer and a quaffle went by him. He mentally scolded himself. Thankfully they were still up by ten points....until a second quaffle went by him. He took a big breath and hurled the quaffle as far and deep towards his teammates as he could, thankfully it landed right into Christian D'Angelo's hands and Cerisier was one again up by ten points 30-20. 'Come on Louise catch the snitch.' he thought to himself as he watched her and Payton circling. He quickly blocked Montagnard's returning surge away and took a sigh of relief.

How exciting was this? Paige's first quiddtich game as a student of Beauxbatons and a member of the Montagnard team. While they were in changing rooms it sounded like everyone was pumped and ready to go, however she felt a little less confident when she walked out onto the pitch to find that it was bright blue for Cerisier. Of course she had already heard that last year the other team had swept them away winning all three games. This year was going to be different though, they had a lot of great players this year and they were sure to win. Paige listened to Professor Bowen go over the pregame rules and what not, once she was done she mounted her broom.

Paige held tight to her bat as she got higher and higher, the last thing she needed was to drop her bat right off and look completely stupid. Within only a few minutes of the game her captain was already yelling at her. He was a friend of her brother's but he didn't seem to like her at all. But he was right, him and her were the only beaters and they had to help win this thing. She raced after bludgers but every time she got close to one, someone else got it already. The score was already at 30-20 with Cerisier in the lead, that just wouldn't do. Paige finally got to a bludger first and she quickly knocked it in the direction of a player in blue and green, she learned after doing so that it was her best mate, Charon. She felt bad about it at first but then she remembered he was the enemy right now and she flew on, still kind of hoping she didn't hurt him too bad if it did make contact. She must have at least distracted him, for shortly afterward a Montagnard chaser scored.

Montagnard: 30

Things weren't going so smoothly for Payton, Louise was a tough opponent. He had lost to snitch in the bright sun light, he stopped and searched around for it. The game was getting intense, Osmund had began yelling at his team. He had trained Payton well, but Payton could only do so much. He was trying his best after all. Instead of waiting to find the snitch, he began to chase Louise around, hoping she was on the right track.

He hoped he wasn't making a fool of himself in front of the whole school. He was sure he wasn't, hopefully. Focus, Payton, he thought. The wind was slapping against his face as he zoomed after Louise. "You got this," he whispered to himself.

The game below them had gotten intense when Paige had hit a member of the other team. Payton smirked slightly, she was pretty tough for a small child. "Good job!" he called to her when she scored. He then refocused on his goal, to catch the snitch

Cerisier: 30

Quentin's arm still burned where the bludger had rammed into it, but at least he was still on his broom and flying. He followed the two other Cerisier chasers uselessly and watched as they scored another goal without his help. He just needed to get the feeling back into his fingers before he could be of any use.

However discouraged he felt, it made him smile when the announcer got confused and called him Chris' brother! Imagine that! Perhaps they appeared more related than Quinn initially thought, which either meant Quentin was also quite a looker or he was just a brilliant Chaser like his cousin was. Either way, he was happy to be considered related to the boy and wasn't going to let their captain down. Blood related or not, he wouldn't be able to escape Christian's wrath if they lost.

The quaffle was passed to him and Quentin tried using his injured arm again to catch it. His hand clasped on the hard surface of the ball but a shot of pain ran down his arm as he tried to tuck it beneath his arm and accidentally dropped it in the process. "Oops!"

Montagnard: 30
Cerisier: 40

Osmund didn't know who the blue haired first year with the name D'Angelo was and nor did he care. He was aiming to get his team to win and if that meant trampling over some friends siblings, or possible friends themselves, then he would do it. If Paige didn't understand that concept yet, he would damn well make sure she did for the next game. No doubt a few of these noobs on the team were some of her friends and if she thought she could be nice and still win, she had another thing coming for her.

The temptation to send a bludger at the annoucner's box was overwhelming. Between her insisting that he sniffed books to other students and constantly reminding him of his blunder last year, Osmund was the least bit pleased with Linette. Her sister was obnoxious too and he was starting to believe it was a genetic trait of the Puchards to naturally have the urge to piss Osmund off.

Since aiming for the announcer would be unprofessional and irrelevant to the game, as well as breaking his 'calm code' that  he promised Christian he would keep and was possibly already failing at, Osmund opted to take it out on the littler Puchard. After all, it was a bit strategic. And maybe then Johnson would get his act together and see the glinting ball of gold and bring a victory for Montagnard for the first time since he joined this team. With another scoring goal for Cerisier, Osmund decided it best to just act and swung the bludger at the Cerisier seeker.

Montagnard: 30
Cerisier: 50

Charon was feeling a bit more confident, besides a brief run in with a bludger he'd been doing well, Cerisier was up by a good amount. Though he was still reprimanding himself for letting in a third quaffle, it was alright, everything was going alright. Charon's eyes flared wide as he saw the bludger head towards Lucy. He desperately hoped she'd evade the bludger  he went back to watching the pattern of colors whiz around him. He was jealous of the chasers who constantly had things to do, but he felt much more comfortable in front of the goal posts.

Montagnard: 30
Cerisier: 50

Another year and another game. After winning all three games the previous year, especially when it was still just his first year on the team and the captain, you could say Christian's ego was growing quickly. However after talking with his mate, aka the other captain, and returning to school to find out how much new blood his team was getting, he was starting to get very concerned. Would they do as well as they did last year, or would Montagnard sweep them away in all three games this time? Over the summer he had told Osmund to be nicer to his team so that they would do better, but now he was the one feeling like yelling at his team and threatening them, and what not. He wanted to win so bad it was crazy, but a small part of him kind of wanted to see the other team win to make Oz happy. This was only a small part of him, so when it was time he ushered his team out of the rooms and took the lead.

As soon as they walked out on the pitch they were all blinded by the bright Cerisier blue on the grass. He was kind of surprised that Professor Bowen hadn't cleaned it all up before they all came out, maybe she was secretly biased towards Cerisier, how fun would that be? He shook his head to clear his thoughts that wasn't the important thing right now, everyone needed to have their heads in the game, including him. After shaking hands with Oz he mounted his broom, and the game began. Christian smiled up towards the announcer's box, he loved her biased commentary, though he would have to clear up later that Quinn wasn't his brother not that it matter much now. He flew around tossing the quaffle between chasers as fast as they could go and moving from end to end like always. It was well into the game now and the score was 50-30 with them in the lead.

Christian froze for a moment when he saw Oz hit a bludger towards his seeker, he sincerely hoped she saw it and dodged it. While he was watching her, he wasn't watching his surroundings and was hit with his own bludger. Thankfully it had just barely hit his shoulder and wasn't serious. It did hurt of course, and he was sure it was going to have a mark there later. He wasn't sure what happened with his seeker so he just kept going with the quaffle. Montagnard score another goal but Christian countered it with a score of his own. "Keep it up team!" He yelled to his team mates.

Montagnard: 40
Cerisier: 60

"Sylvian scores again for Montagnard bringing the scores back to even at 20 all," she announced in a very bored, dull voice.  "Oh well.  It's not like it'll have any effect on the outcome of the game. That is unless the rest of the Montagnards keep their eye on the ball especially if Johnson watches for that little gold thing called the snitch."

"Hah.  I knew Cerisier could get ahead of Montagnard again. Not for long though.  Montagnards did you know that chasing the Cerisiers in that manner is not going to win you the match.  Just thought you should know."  She grinned as Cerisier scored again.  "See.  Cerisier does it again.  Younger D'Angleo has the quaffle and drops it.  Maybe he should have rested a little longer.  That bludger had to have hurt.  Did I mention the blue hair.  If I hadn't you should all use your eyes to stare at it.  Such a wonderful colour.  The pitch, the sky, the eyes and the hair.  And Cerisier is doing really well as they pull ahead by twenty points."

In her eagerness to have a better look at the pitch and the blue haired chaser Linette knocked over the microphone causing it to screech.  "Ah sorry about that folks.  For your information if you missed the last few minutes Montagnard and Cerisier have both scored and Cerisier is 20 points ahead of Montagnard.  No surprises there."

Cerisier: 60
Montagnard: 40

Marie-Laure grabbed the quaffle with relative ease as one of her team-mates threw it to her. Somehow, some way the had to bridge the gap between them and the Cerisiers. It was annoying that every time they scored it seemed that the other team scored twice. The first year threw the quaffle though the left goal hoop. It may not have them caught up but it went some way toward that goal.

She moved off to await her next opportunity. Soon it enough it did come but so did a bludger and Marie-Laure had to move out the way. The witch watched in frustration as the quaffle fell into the hands of a Cerisier chaser and another goal was scored. Great. Now they were back to where they were before she scored.

Montagnard: 50
Cerisier: 70

As the game drug on Paige was starting to get very frustrated that Montagnard always seemed to be one step behind the Cerisiers. The minute they score a point the others would score one, or two most of the time. She wasn't even feeling bad about hitting her best mate anymore, in fact she was completely prepared to hit another one his way if she ever got to one close enough to that end of the field. It was getting serious now, they simply had to win, or at least give the other team one hell of a fight before it was over. She spotted a bludger and flew over as quick as she could, she didn't want it flying to far from where it was, cause it was pretty close to the Cerisier captain. She hit it with all her might and watched it fly, she cursed under her breath when it only grazed his shoulder. She was willing to bet that hurt a lot more than he was wanting to let on, but she wasn't going to focus on him she had to get another bludger.

She watched as one of Montagnard's chasers dodged a bludger and dropped the quaffle. She flew over and hit the great black ball as hard as she could, even if it was at an odd angle. "Well go get that quaffle back!" She yelled over to the chaser, but by that time the chaser would had caught her dropped ball had already scored. Her statement still stood, they had to get that ball back. She looked up for the seekers to see if theirs was getting any closer to finding the gold among all the blue of the field. She took a shot at chaser attempting to score in the Montagnard goals and smiled when they were unsuccessful. "Please wake up today!" She yelled over to the keeper, who's name she didn't know, before flying after more bludgers.

Cerisier: 70

Annaliese was determined to please Oz as much as she could with keeping the quaffles out of their goal posts, but as the game continued on, it didn't look as though that she was going to have much luck. She glared as the game continued on and Cerisier kept gathering up points. It seemed as though that Linette's little sister was just as much of a pain as Linette herself was. As Oz released the bludger towards the younger Puchard, Anna smirked, taking her out would be a piece of cake if she didn't see the initial throw, but as their luck stood from last season,  they didn't have any. She could see the game was heading south really quick, they needed to take out that seeker, not paying attention the other chaser swooped in and scored another point for Cerisier. "Bloody hell!" She cursed under her breath. And bit her lip trying to get her head in the game. 'Block the shot...' she thought. 'Just block the shot.'

Montagnard: 50
Cerisier: 80

The game continued with Cerisier keeping in the lead, Montagnard continued to score but they always seemed to keep ahead. They weren't staying ahead by much so the catching of a snitch would instantly turn either team in to the winners. Christian tried his best to get a hold of the quaffle and score enough points to guarantee a Cersier win no matter who got the snitch. However with his shoulder burning every time he moved it and his cousin receiving a similar injury, the chasers of their team were starting to slow down. That didn't mean that they couldn't match the others goal by goal. He paused for a moment when one of his chasers took the quaffle to score, to look up for his seeker. The girl was the sister of one of his friends but that didn't mean he was about to let her get away from the changing rooms without a seriously lecture, if she didn't catch this snitch, and soon hopefully, he was going to schedule more individual practices for her later this week.

Christian tore himself away from the search for her and went after the quaffle. Cerisier scored once more, with the help of some of his excellent passing skills. He had been about to steal the ball back from a Montagnard chaser who had just scored when the whistle was blown. He stopped in his tracks and instantly started looking around for which seeker held the snitch. It appeared to be a girl, meaning it must be theirs. He threw his hands into the air in celebration before landing on the pitch.

Cerisier: 240
Montagnard: 60

Linette took on a bored posture as she rested her chin on a propped up hand. "You know Montagnard I don't think you really are going to ever catch up to Cerisier so why do you even bother trying. My eyes see all and all I can see is Montagnard losing to Cerisier in a big way." She shifted to a proper sitting position. "Montoya you know you should stay awake at the goals don't you? By the way everyone if you hadn't already noticed Cerisier has scored again. Not hard when Montagnard's keeper is sleeping on the job."

Finally the moment she'd been waiting for had arrived. "Okay everyone Louise is saved from having books in her bed. Good one kid." As proud as she was of her sister in that moment Linette still wasn't about to claim kinship. "Just as an update of the scores for those who were sleeping like Montoya the game finished on 240 to Cerisier compared to Montagnard's measly 60. Osmund maybe you should train your people harder. You know so that they don't fall asleep."

Louise threw her hands up into the air with triumph. "Yahoo!" She exclaimed and flew down with the snitch. Giggling as her sister took back the threat she'd made earlier. She was as happy as could be. She looked over at the other team that was flying down with a irritated look on their faces along with one that said they were going to be worked to the bone. She turned to her team and gave them each a high-five. "Good work guys!!!" She sad enthusiastically. She eagerly handed the snitch back to Professor Bowen and went over to talk with her friends about the events of the game. She couldn't wait for the next one. The feeling....she felt like she was on top of the world.

Cerisier: 240
Montagnard: 60

Annaliese glared at the young Puchard as she caught the snitch. She knew that, 1: They were all going to be drilled until their arms fell off. 2: Payton was going to get a mouthful. And 3: That she had to do something about that seeker next game. She sighed and looked up at Oz, he was glaring in disgust at the young girl. "Don't like her that much, huh?" She commented as she walked past him, back to the changing rooms. If they kept up the way they were playing, they'd loose every other game in front of them. She knew that they would need a new strategy...and maybe a little more encouragement from Oz...she'd have to talk to him about that. She sighed and retreated with the rest of the team out of the pitch to go rinse off their loosing stench.
