Term 17 Defense Against the Dark Arts Exam Empty Term 17 Defense Against the Dark Arts Exam

Post by Professor Cox Tue Jan 13, 2015 9:01 pm

The room was already silent from the time the rest of the students had filed into the classroom, to the time he finished passing out the written tests and he intended for it to last until the last student handed in their exam and left. Professor Cox would not accept any tomfoolery on that day. There were always a handful of students who thought it was wise to try and cheat their way to a perfect grade and he was on the lookout for them. Any student caught would not only fail their test, but would receive detention from him. He was a strict sort of teacher.

"You may begin," He told the class in his baritone voice before he took a seat at his desk, facing all the rows of students with bowed heads over their exam papers. He wasn't going to idle his time with work. He intended to keep a watchful eye on all until the exam was through.

Ooc: This is a chance to win some house points. In this thread, you will roleplay how your character takes an exam. Do they cheat, or are they honest (maybe include who they cheated off of)? Did your student study? Are they guessing on every question? After you are finished with your post, a Minister will tell you you your grade (Oustanding, Satisfactory, Unsatisfactory) and whether or not they got caught cheating. The grades influence how many points your house gets. No points will be awarded for an Unsatisfactory. A Satisfactory will receive five points, and an Outstanding will receive ten points.

The posts must be at least 100 words long (like all posts on this site) and they must clearly say if your student cheated and whether or not they studied. Just because they cheat, doesn't mean they'll get caught. And your student could fail if they studied, or pass if they didn't study. Have fun!

Lucie couldn't stop the way her stomach felt like it was being turned upside down.  She wasn't ready for the DADA exam with all the information she needed to remember about what is the best method for defeating which dark creatures. She shuddered at the thought of the various dark creatures out there on top of dark wizards.  All of it on top of the spells she had to learn made it for a very depressing subject.

The exam papers were out and it was time to  begin.  Lucie felt cold and frozen  as she skimmed over the questions.  Then she was onto writing one or two sentence answers.  Not much detail.  She didn't want to give much more thought to the details of the dark creatures she had to dwell on.  With the short answers she gave she was finished early and ready to leave.  Over all not her best exam but would probably be better than Transfiguration or Charms.

Kayla had studied for a grand total of eight and a half hours for the test. That meant everything from reviewing notes, practicing spells, writing notes again, overall getting a good understanding of all the material. It all fit and made sense to her. There were some rather fun spells she learned that year that she was sure to never forget, like the tongue-tying curse and the tickling charm. She walked into the classroom stifling a laugh, remembering her first attempt of the latter on her friend.

Kayla waited patiently for Professor Cox to hand her test. He was strict, maybe unnecessarily so, but he was fair. She was put at ease when she saw the questions. She knew how to solve them. When the professor said to begin, she immediately began scribbling away at the short answer questions. She tapped into her studying and all the experience she had gained from this classroom. Kayla usually wasn't much for detail but this time she did, writing everything she knew. She left the room feeling very satisfied, particularly with the essay question.

Term 17 Defense Against the Dark Arts Exam Empty Re: Term 17 Defense Against the Dark Arts Exam

Likely to his family tree's delight, Julie-Pierre had been aching to take his Defense Against the Dark Arts exam. For some reason, there was a certain spark that always came from the boy when this session came. Even through his more lazy phase, there was still a sense of love for the class that he couldn't get rid of, though one other love had understandably replaced it.

The ability to show power, to put Darkness back in its place, seemed to be the most powerful feeling the boy could ever feel. He knew it would be more challenging later on in life, but that was all the more reason why he was brought to the school; to learn how to defend himself, his love, and live a life as best as he can.

Though, the extra bits in classes would be far better off. He never got why some things were strict for the curriculum.

Despite this, Julie-Pierre did his best through the test. Yes, he studied, but for any test he was always nervous about it. His past years haunted him a little with how slothful he was then, and he hoped he could right those wrongs.
