Round II: Cerisier vs. Feu Empty Round II: Cerisier vs. Feu

Post by Professor Bowen Wed Oct 01, 2014 4:29 pm

The weather the week before the quidditch game was perfect, very sunny and the temperature was just right. The day of the quidditch game was a whole different story, it was cold and cloudy. It looked as if it was going to rain but it had yet to do so. She made sure to remind the students to wear the proper attire for the weather.

The time had finally come and Bowen checked to make sure that all the quidditch players were dressed properly for the cold. 'Stay warm' had come out of her mouth more times than she could remember. Once both teams were on the field, she went over her usual lines then blew her whistle.

Round II: Cerisier vs. Feu Empty Re: Round II: Cerisier vs. Feu

Last year had been a surprisingly successful year for the young Feu captain. And she hoped this year would be the same. With one whole year of Quidditch experience under her belt and a win at that she was sure this year would be even better. With a newly found confidence she faced her team. "Do what you did last year and we'll win." That was it and they were out there in the cold ready to play.

Out here she knew what to do. Listen to the Professor. Shake the hand of the opposing captain and push off up into the air. Lucie was ready to block as many quaffles as she could. Even if she weren't very successful hopefully the other members of the team, especially Bo, could make up for the shortfall.

Round II: Cerisier vs. Feu Empty Re: Round II: Cerisier vs. Feu

Ryan was feeling confident, even with the cold air crawling down his neck. He had grow out his hair a bit in order to stay a bit warmer during the winter season and it was working just a bit. Some cold air still managed to send a shiver down his spine. Professor Bowen went on and on about dressing appropriately for the cold weather, it was becoming a bit stale. There were some people who would be stupid enough to not wear anything to protect them from the harsh weather so he could see why she kept repeating it. He was dress just how the professor wanted them to be dressed, plus he had wrapped the scarf that Harley had given him around his neck then tucked the ends away so they wouldn't get in the way.

Once on the field, he could see why Bowen had went on and on about the weather. It was cold but it didn't look as if it were going to rain or snow or do anything. There were just clouds in the sky and they didn't look like rain clouds. He mounted his broom and kicked off the ground once the whistle was blown. He was ready to win this game.

Round II: Cerisier vs. Feu Empty Re: Round II: Cerisier vs. Feu

Christine started to count how many times Professor Bowen said stay warm. It was better than looking up at the clouds worried that it might rain. Mere coldness was far better than rain and coldness. Rain would ruin her perfectly braided hair and make it difficult to keep hold of her bat. She would stop picturing the rain and focus on hitting bludgers at the opposing team. Last year's winners. They could be this year's losers and Cerisier finally win the cup.

The sixth year was soon off the ground and looking around for iron balls. She smiled as she managed to direct it toward a Feu chaser. Hopefully enough to put the player off but not hurt them at all. Christine never hit bludgers to maim. They were to put players off from continuing in the intended direction and perhaps drop the quaffle at the same time.

Despite having done exceedingly well in both matches last year, Bo was still nervous about the first game of this new year. It would be his second year of Quidditch and he felt the pressure was on. Now people actually expected him to do well and after not being able to practice Quidditch all summer, Bo knew he'd have to put extra effort into the first game. He had practiced as much as he could in the weeks prior, but there was only so much he could do.

He half listened to Lucie's pep talk and nodded absent mindedly. It was no big deal if he didn't catch the snitch. It was only highly improbable for them to be able to outscore the other team especially when they caught the snitch. He had mounted his broom and took off, already looking for the snitch even before the first chaser reached the quaffle.

Trent was frustrated at his inability to win the cup with Cerisier last season. He trained his team hard and everything, but something wasn't clicking right. He wanted to prove to his girlfriend that he was just as good as half the other guys that liked her, but it was hard. He wasn't exactly wining anything and she deserved someone smarter anyways. Trent was vary much going through a crisis. He was pretty sure that Guen would eventually leave him for some genius auror or scientist or something. Trent would have to return his engagement ring and be all embarrassed.Soon the whistle sounded and Trent went full speed ahead ripping a couple shots on goal.

The first points going to Cerisier spurred Christine on to hit more bludgers at the Feu chasers. They were the easiest targets. That didn't stop any scores going their way but Christine thought and hoped her efforts meant they wouldn't score as much as they otherwise might have done.

"Careful," she called out as she flew in to hit a bludger away from one of the Cerisier players. Christine stopped to shake out her hand before getting her focus back on hitting bludgers at the chasers again. Cerisier had to win. Losing all the time was pulling down morale which would make it harder to spur them on to win.

Lucie felt awfully small and insignificant hovering in front of the goal hoops. She still couldn't figure out how she'd become both keeper and captain at such a young age and zero experience. Not zero experience anymore but that'd been exactly what she a year ago. The witch flew for the quaffle and missed as it sailed through the goal hoops. Her experience may be better but ability hadn't much improved.

"Chasers score something," she called out and wished she could take back those words. Too late now but then finally a ding sounded at the other end of the pitch. "Thank you." She managed to block the next attempt by a Cerisier chaser but not so well after the next one and finally more points scored by Feu. "Keep it up," she could out encouragingly.

Bo was growing increasingly more nervous. Their team was hardly even scoring, though they weren't too far behind Cerisier, thanks to Lucie's saves. He tried not to be too concerned with what was going on with the rest of the team, focusing on not being hit with bludgers and trying to find the small sized golden ball, but it seemed to him every time he caught a glimpse of the snitch, it would manage to elude him as soon as he moved towards it.

The pitch rung out as Feu scored another point. The sound of it caught his attention and as he turned, he spotted the snitch nearly right by him. Immediately the seeker lunged towards it. Without a lengthy chase, Bo closed his hand around the golden snitch and the match was won. All those extra practices he put in really did pay off.

Since he had become seeker, the sixth year had yet to catch the snitch. He blamed it on bad luck because he really was trying his best and was practicing every chance he got. He practiced a lot over the summer and spent many hours after his classes on the quidditch field. So why wasn't he catching that stupid little golden ball? There were no other good reasons for him to act so poorly in a the sport he loved than that he was cursed from doing well. That just had to be it. He didn't quite care if Cerisier won or not, that didn't matter to him. What mattered to him was that he proved himself to be a good seeker. And he just wasn't getting that across correctly.

He focused on the game and kept his eyes peeled for the golden winged ball. Maybe today would be the day that he actually caught the bloody thing so people wouldn't think he was some loser. Clearly he wasn't. But it was too late because soon he saw the other seeker catch the stupid thing. He shrugged his shoulders and flew back down to the ground. It was far too cold to stay up there any longer.

Round II: Cerisier vs. Feu Empty Re: Round II: Cerisier vs. Feu

Post by Guest Wed Oct 15, 2014 9:42 am

Waking up this morning was hard for the fourth year, she didn't want to leave her warm bed. The weather was too cold and she didn't like it one bit. She bundled up in her warmest jackets and put on a pair of boots. She ate her breakfast with the rest of her house then she hurried to the quidditch field so she could practice announcing. After she messed up last game, she didn't want to mess up again so she wanted to make sure that she wouldn't slip up again (she also wanted to make sure her microphone was off and she would be the one to turn it on). It would be so embarrassing if something happened to her like that again.

Soon it was time for the game to begin and Indigo checked to make sure her mic was still off. She cleared her throat and zipped her jacket all the way up then turned on her mic. "Hello and welcome to the second round of quidditch," she said in her soft tone. She didn't speak much throughout the game, she was too busy watching the game. Time seemed to go by quickly and soon enough the Feu seeker had caught the snitch. "Feu wins this round!"

Charlie liked watching Feu play. They were pretty good for a young team with their captain only a second year at school. It was pretty impressive that they'd managed to win the cup last year and that they were totally up for the challenge of going head to head with Cerisier again this year. Cerisier was also a decent team. They had a good seeker and Trent was a big shot kind of person whether he deserved it or not he had a lot of the big man on campus element to him which some people can't stand and others can't get enough of. It's all perception.

Trent hung his head in embarrassment when the whistle blew. He definitely blamed himself for his team's shortcomings and wouldn't get the opportunity to coach/captain them into wining form. He got everyone to huddle up and thanked all the players for making his tenure as captain enjoyable and wished Ryan good luck. Trent would be going back home this summer to marry his fiance and play in the professional leagues anyways. He could survive the one humiliating loss for now and maybe one day the world would pay him back through karma or something. Trent sighed softly and cleaned out his locker in the Cerisier changing room.

"Good luck to all graduating players with their future endeavors." Charlie hung up the microphone and scanned her nails quickly with her eyes. She was going out with Philip for dinner and wanted to look perfect for him. Sometimes she's let herself look like but for him, but today she really wanted to add in some wow factor. She wished she hadn't announced because now her throat hurt, and talking at dinner would probably be a minor annoyance now. Oh well, she picked up her notes for the game and discarded them to the trash before hurrying to her dorm to get ready.
