AMC Meeting: You Must Feel It Empty AMC Meeting: You Must Feel It

It was the second meeting of Art and Music Club and Ruby was excited for this year's meeting topic. She thought that she came up with a great idea. She greeted people as they came in, there were a few new faces, including the new co-leader. She smiled brightly and waited for everyone to take their seats. 'Hello and welcome to the second meeting of Art and Music Club. I'm so glad to see some new and familiar faces!" She clapped her hands in delight. "Okay, before we begin, our new members are Ryan Green, René Pendlebrook, and Adela Austin. Adela is also out new co-leader! How exciting!" She clapped once more before clearing her throat.

"Okay, so I know some of you aren't very good at painting or drawing or any art besides music. Well, this is an ART and Music Club so we must also discuss the importance of art!" She eyed the members. "Art is important because it helps you express yourself and it's really fun. Well, today were going to paint." She waved over to the tables that had paints and papers scattered around. "Draw how you feel, draw anything. But I want it from the soul, from the heart. Make sure you can feel it! Don't just draw anything, you must feel it!" She smiled once more and turned towards the tables. "Okay, you may now go to the table and do your thing."

AMC Meeting: You Must Feel It Empty Re: AMC Meeting: You Must Feel It

Ryan wasn't big on art, he enjoyed music more. But he was sure that he'd be great at painting because he, was in fact, great at everything. In his book, he was the best and everyone else was just someone that was trying to be like him. He knew that it could never be true but his ego was too big to be told otherwise. He would have to be on his best behavior today because word could get out if he was mean to the club leader. She looked like the type to cry over anything and everything. Maybe he was just judging her, but he did know that she was a bit odd. Or a whole lot of crazy.

He followed the others to the tables that the girl pointed out. He didn't bother learning anyone's name, they were beneath him. He'd rather keep to himself then talk to any of them. It didn't help that everyone else seemed older than him. He still thought they all sucked even though they didn't speak to him.

How were they supposed to feel what they drew? What did that even mean? This girl was a nutcase, she instructions were crazy. But he needed to do something so she wouldn't call him out for doing nothing. He grabbed a paint brush from a box and dipped his brush into a blob of blue paint. What was he going to draw? He looked around the table at what the others were painting. "Hey," he whispered to the person beside him. "What are you going to paint?" Maybe he could get some inspiration .

AMC Meeting: You Must Feel It Empty Re: AMC Meeting: You Must Feel It

Stephanie had a feeling this would happen sooner or later. Like Ruby said it was an Art and music club. Her heart sank just that little bit. The fourth year had doodled on her parchment on occasion when she was supposed to be listening to the professors but that was hardly at the level of art. It was scribbles and nothing more.

She went over to the table and just stared at everything. Draw from the heart? If it were write or sing from the heart she could do it but draw? There was only one way she was going to be able to get through this ordeal and that was to lapse into daydreaming and see where her paintbrush lead her. A great big scribbling mess most likely. That's what her doodles always looked like. The only difference was it'd be coloured paint instead of black ink blobs.

With a paintbrush dipped in green paint in hand she put it on paper and drew a line. One green line and a question whispered in her ear. "A line," she replied, "and it is done." She moved the brush again put another line on the page crossing the line already there. "I'm not really drawing anything. It's just lines on paper." Stephie rinsed the paint off and dipped the brush in the blue paint to add more lines to the page. "You shouldn't think about it too much. That'll just give you a headache." She stared at the paper of crossing green and blue lines. Hopefully Ruby wouldn't require them to discuss why they drew what they did. Stephanie didn't think she could come up with an answer on the spot.

Ruby followed the others to the tables and sat beside the the first year. She couldn't draw to save her life, but she would paint a picture just like the rest of them. She picked up a paint brush and dipped it in black paint. The color wasn't her favorite but it spoke to her in a way the other colors didn't. She made a swirl on the blank page, her lines were curved and were crazy. She had no clue what she was doing, but she acted like she did. Even she failed her own lesson, she couldn't draw from the heart.

She sighed and crumpled up the paper, it was time to get to the root of her feelings. "Have you ever felt jealous? Lonely? Scared?" she said aloud to the group. "Draw about that, draw what you feel right now. Just draw something your were or are feeling." She swirled her brush in a cup of water. She drew a circle with blue paint, she filled the circle in. She drew lines out of the circle, She was feeling a bit broken because of all the secrets people kept from her.

She looked around the table at the other members' artwork. "Good job guys, keep up the good work."

Rene was currently to smitten with Fiona Eloise Miller to even think straight. She was pretty, oh so very pretty. It made him weak in the knees just thinking about her. In short, Rene had it bad for the reformed prankster. That was it! His inspiration for the art exercise. He began to quickly draw hearts in a circle around an orchid as well as his guitar and his mom's paella, and Rene was just to happy nowadays to draw any sad thoughts that lay hidden in the back of his mind. For better or for worse Rene's life was changing in a direction he never would've imagined.

Painting wasn't one of Ryan's many talents and he lacked muse to complete the assignment. How was he supposed to feel what to paint? This chick was just crazy. Maybe they should have gotten someone a little more sane to run a club. Maybe he would when the older girl graduated, but it looked like he still had some time until that. Maybe he could draw something that reminded him of his brother Stark.

He dipped his paint brush into blue paint and drew a circle. It was no good but he didn't care. He drew swirls around the page and decided that it was good enough. At least he sort of tried, right?

Stephanie did not indulge in drawing what she felt. She daydreamed, wrote or sang. She did not draw. The crossed lines on the paper were proof enough of that. They did not say anything to her other than someone who just painted a couple of lines on paper for the hell of it. No rhyme or reason.

She stared at that blue and green cross until her eyes felt like [i]they'd[/] crossed too. How much longer before this meeting was over and she could go? Stephanie glanced around the room and then back at the page. Well she possibly could just paint some of the things she liked. A treble clef, musical note, piano keys. Her lips twisted at the thought. She couldn't do it.

The fourth year dipped her brush into black paint and started painting the musical notes she'd decided against. Added the keys of a piano and put the brush down. The lines on the piano keys were wrong. She knew that but what could she do? Stephanie played the piano. Had once played the piano. She didn't draw pianos.

Not only was this Adela's first AMC meeting, but also her first meeting being a co-leader. She had been in another club since her second year at Beauxbatons, and she was graduating next year. She had seen the duties of leaders and co-leaders from the SOP meetings. there was no reason for her to be nervous, so why was she? Adela loved art and music. She had amazing artistic skills and, even though she couldn't sing or play any instruments for the life of her, loved all types of music. These were her passions, therefore this is the perfect club for her to help run. There was really no reason for the butterflies in her stomach but they were there.

The girl listened as Ruby announced herself, Adela, and the other new members, waving when she was announced as co-leader. The plan for the meeting was perfect for the young artist, but Adela knew that not everyone enjoyed painting, or had the artistic creativity for it. Some of the members may have joined primarily for the music portion of the club. "If anyone is stuck on ideas I am happy to help," she said cheerfully.

Rene had finished his drawing and turned his attention to writing. That was an art, right? It counted right? He enjoyed writing a lot. Usually it was song writing and he would create the melody in his head or with his guitar. He loved it when everything clicked and worked out how he expected it to. Unfortunately it did not usually click how he wanted it to and he wouldn't finish the song, but currently he was hitting all cylinders on this song. He could picture the perfect melody in his head as well as a rhythm. He kind of wanted to get out there right now and start singing, but he waited.
