People That Suck Less
After getting his letter, Ryan couldn't wait to go to Beauxbatons. He'd see more of his brother which was great, he loved his older brother. But his brother had to do whatever big brothers did and left him to explore the pub on his own. All Ryan wanted to do was start shopping but first he wanted to get himself a drink before continuing his journey.
He ordered himself a butterbeer then sat at a table as far away from people as he could get. He didn't like people much, but there was no getting away from them. He just had to find the people that sucked less so he could become friends with them.
He sipped his drink as he watched the people around him. A lot of them were around his age, maybe it would be easy to find someone to use. Friends were overrated, but he could find someone to pretend to be friends with.

Re: People That Suck Less
Philip was tired of his mother yapping on and on and on about something extremely prejudiced...so he did anything any dumb kid would and ditched his mother completely.
He wandered about and found the pub. Hmm... a butter beer did sound good right about now. So, Philip headed inside. Once his butter beer was ordered, he wasn't entirely sure where to sit. Most people his age were there with their families or parents. He glanced around and spotted someone, a guy, about his age. Well, it was a worth a shot. Philip headed over and nodded at the boy. "Hey."

Ryan wasn't a big people person but acted like it when his brother was around. It was like he was two different people, someone who was a bit mean and someone who was sweet and nice. His brother wasn't around, so at the moment he was the mean person. So when a boy came up to him, he rolled his eye then looked him up and down. He was going to have to do, he supposed.
"Hello," Ryan said in a snooty tone, as if he was above this boy. He took a drink from his butterbeer then set it down. "Can I help you?" He raised an eyebrow. This boy was taking up his time, but Ryan had nothing better to do.

Philip watched the boy size him up and rolled his eyes. Way to go, you really know how to pick them, Phil. He hated being called Phil too and now he was talking to himself.
"You looked a bit mopey was all, figured it'd be nice to check up on you. Guess I was wrong" Philip refrained from rolling his eyes again at the snooty tone. What a pompous bloke for an eleven year old. He would almost prefer dealing with his shrew of a mother than this kid. And that was saying something. "Going to Beauxbatons are you?" He asked curiously.

Ugh, where was his brother when he needed him? He was so bored with this boy already, he was ready to do some shopping but his brother wasn't there to show him around yet. When was he going to come for him? Was he going to come for him? "I'm not mopey," Ryan stated in a harsh tone. "I wouldn't be perfectly fine with you leaving right now."
But it seemed like that wasn't going to happen so he sighed and offered the boy a seat. "What's your name?" Ryan couldn't be 'friends' with just anyone, they had to prove themselves. They had to be great, they couldn't be just some nobody.

"Well, if you insist on my leaving." Philip started to back away, but stopped when the snotty kid offered him a seat. Hm...okay.. So, he sat down across from him. "I'm Philip. You?"
He tried not to tap his fingers on the table, seeing as he already was annoying this kid quite a bit. Philip wondered why the boy was so miserable too, granted he could also be equally as miserable, surely there had to be a good reason behind his moodiness. He was kind of hoping his crazy mother was going to show up and rescue him, the other half of him wanted to try and be friends with the kid.

"Ryan, Ryan Green. Pure blood." He smirked, his blood status meant a lot to him and he was proud of being pure. But he wasn't rude to muggle-borns or halfbloods, he respected them. But he did think higher of himself, he always had. No matter who it was, he was better than them. But of course he couldn't act that way with his brother around, his brother thought he was sweet and kind. He was, but only around him.
He traced his finger around his glass and watched the boy. "You're going to be a first year too, huh? Beauxbatons is a big place according to my brother, sounds like there's lots of places where I could sneak off too." He wouldn't cut class, but after all his classes were done, he'd find a place to hang out.

"Pureblood, eh? So am I." It wasn't something he bragged about, mainly because he didn't care too much about his blood status. His mother was always ridiculous about that sort of thing and it was really annoying.
Philip took a sip at his drink and nodded. "Yep, I don't know much about the castle. I'm pretty good with directions so I should be fine." He shrugged. "You have an older brother? What year is he?" Sometimes he wished he had a sibling, that would mean someone else for his mother to focus her attention on. "So, you'd cut class then?" He raised an eyebrow.

Re: People That Suck Less
Blood status was very important to his grandparents and since Ryan spent so much time with them, they were being to rub off on him. The only thing that kept him from thinking that blood status was everything was his brother, his brother didn't care about blood status. So he didn't care about blood status, he wanted to be just like his brother. But his brother was nice and Ryan wasn't always nice.
"Yes, I have an older brother." Didn't he just say that? Wow, people couldn't listen. "He's going to be a fourth year." His brother was so much older than him but they were so close. He loved his older brother, he made everything better. But he wasn't here, he was too busy buying things for his fourth year. He would love to catch up with his brother at one of the shops. "Of course I wouldn't cut class, I'll find somewhere to hang out when I don't have class."
