The first game of the season was always something to be excited about. Professor Bowen was pleased to see some enthusiasm in tryouts, as many fresh faces fought over the position of the seeker of Cerisier, but only one, as was natural, made the cut. She couldn't wait to see how the new seeker played and to see how the Cerisier team, all very familiar with each other now, dealt with the newcomer. She was also interested to see how Montagnard would fair, being that the opposite team had remained quite the same for a few terms, which gave the players time to become friendly with each other, as well as find annoying qualities within each other and get a bit heated. She never liked seeing a team in civil war with itself, but she loved it when they finally settle their little quarrels and managed to work it out.

Without the threat of a vampire, which was nice to say, being that the vampire last year ruined things so and she had feared Madame Leblanc would've canceled Quidditch for the whole term, she was expecting stellar results from both teams. There was nothing that could have possibly hindered their practice this time and would be disappointed to see players lacking on either team.

She wore a smile as she walked out on the field, grinning approvingly at both teams. "I expect to see a wonderful display from both of you," She spoke to the teams, panning her eyes among the lined up players. "This is the last year for Mr. D'Angelo and Mr. Hollow to be captains as well. All your years of leadership comes down to these last few games. Enjoy it boys!" She clapped the two captains on the shoulder before taking position. She released the quaffle and blew the whistle to signal the game's start.

Stephie felt extremely nervous about playing her very first quidditch game. She gripped the school broom tightly as she stood with the rest of the team waiting for the game to begin. How well would she fair when she'd never actually played a game in her life. Practices weren't quite the same as what she'd witnessed the previous term when she was still figuring out how it was played. Now she was expected to be able to catch a snitch against a much more experienced seeker.

At the blow of the whistle the young seeker pushed off with the rest of the team and looked for a place up high where she could possibly sight the snitch. Her focus though wasn't entirely on the whereabouts of the small golden ball but also on her broom itself. Would it have been better to try and talk her father into buying a school broom? The currency made it hard to work out if he'd be able to afford it or not but she was sure that it couldn't be any more than a bicycle could it? This year was out but maybe next year. Right now though she really had to concentrate on finding that snitch.

The first match of the year. The final season with Hollow as the Montagnard captain. She wasn't happy or sad about that. It was part of life. Students came and students graduated. Right now all she cared about was Montagnard winning and pulling themselves out of the poor scoring records. The new Cerisier seeker would be no match for Johnson but, as much as she hated to admit it, the rest of the Montagnard team hadn't performed half so well. Her holidays, yet again and consisted of playing basket ball and football to keep herself in shape. No flying (because for her it was impossible) until she was back at Beauxbatons.

She pushed up in the air at the blow of the whistle and flew straight for the quaffle. There was no time to waste. One way or another she would best Quentin D'Angelo. He had to know she would always do better than him in everything. With herself in a tight spot, the witch passed the quaffle to one of her chaser teammates.

It was the first game of a new year and Payton was excited to see how this season turned out. Last year he had caught the snitch all three games and he was hoping to do it again. This year Cerisier had gained a new player, a seeker, and Payton wished the girl luck. "Good luck," he called to the girl once he was in the air.

He had gotten a decent amount of practice over the summer and he was more than ready for this game. He wasn't cocky and was very level headed despite what seem people thought, but he was confident which wasn't a bad thing at all. "Let's go team!" When the first goal was scored by Montagnard, a smile spread across Payton's face.

"Hello students of Beauxbatons! Its a new year and we have a new addition to the quidditch game! Cerisier has picked up a new seeker this year, you better watch out Johnson, I'm sure Captain D'Angelo has trained his new seeker well." Last year's seeker sucked and hadn't caught the snitch at all. "Looks like Montagnard has scored first. Good luck to both teams."

This game, Caleb had brought some more jellybeans to eat while watching the game. "Its Captain Hollow and Captain D'Angelo's last year at Beauxbatons and I'm sure they'll be missed by their teammates," he said after swallowing a mouthful of jellybeans. "I wonder who the captain will be next year." As he talked, Montagnard had scored once more. "Montagnard scores again!"

It was the first game of the last year he'd be playing quidditch and that was a big deal, why? He was sure as soon as he was replaced as captain after graduating that Montagnard would suffer a spell of losses, given that most likely the next captain would be so much softer to the team than he had been. He wasn't concerned though. Once he left, he'd be on to better things. Maybe even playing quidditch more professionally.

He didn't need to give a spiel to his team before they took off, they got enough of that during their practices, and smiled as already they were racking up the goals. He nodded his approval as finally their chasers had gotten themselves together and were doing their job. He made sure to do his job, as well, sending bludgers out at the Cerisier chasers as soon as he noticed they were in possession of the quaffle. Yes sir, winning these next few games would be easy for him and he would be graduating school with the cup to accompany him, he was sure.

Whatever they were feeding the Montagnards, Quentin wanted some. The game had hardly even begun and already the Montagnard chasers were hammering out goals. Quentin tried not to gape, remembering that it was his job to get the quaffle and score his own goals, but after seeing a few goals in a row, he couldn't help it.

He could spot Marie-Laure easily, with her freckled face, and knew that with a score like that, she had to be smiling. Last year, he had proven to be the better of the two at being a chaser, but this year it looked like his throne was being threatened. He could admit that his rival was a very good student, which he might never get the chance to be with his lack of work ethic, but he couldn't stand to lose in all fields to her.

A bludger flung passed him and Quentin ducked, finding himself lucky for having good reflexes in a moment of need. A fellow chaser wasn't so lucky and had let the quaffle free. Quentin swooped it up and passed it along to a similarly robed chaser, who then scored a goal. He smiled and then turned to Marie-Laure. "I was just giving you a polite head start," He told her, with a grin.

Another year, another round of quidditch matches. This year Paige wanted to do even better than she had the year before, perhaps good enough to take over the captaincy once her fellow beater graduated. She had to admit that she was going to be sad to see him leave, she had spent all her time trying to be as good as him and make him proud. Everyone had to graduate at some point though and all she could do was make his last year a winning year. With that thought the blonde took to the sky ready to show Cerisier who the better players were.

It didn't take them long before they scored and scored lots, Montagnard was up to 60 by the time Cerisier finally made one. Paige had made one of the chasers drop the quaffle but Quinn the blue haired chaser had recovered it and scored anyway. She wasn't concerned though for they had an impressive lead still.

The Montagnard chasers were on fire and Marie-Laure was proud to be part of that team. Five goals between the three of them so far and Marie-Laure lined up to make that six. The ding was satisfying. Ever so satisfying compared to Cerisier with zero points. Then came the ding from the other end of the pitch and, of course, Quentin's comment.

She tossed her head at him. "Keep telling yourself that," she called out, "and you might begin to believe it." Meanwhile another ding came from the Cerisier goal hoops. "I believe that's seventy to us now." Yes. They were really on fire. She was proving that she really was better than Quentin D'Angelo in everything.

Marie-Laure watched the exchange between her fellow chasers and then flew into position to catch the quaffle from one of the others before making her move to the hoops. Yes. They really were on fire. With a new seeker for Cerisier up against their experienced seeker and the dynamite chaser team Montagnard were going to wipe the pitch with Cerisier.

Concentrating on the action on the pitch was much more difficult than Stephanie anticipated. It'd been fairly simple enough from the bench but now she was up in the air it was much more difficult. Mastering flying in her first year was very different to hovering up in the air whilst trying to look for a small ball which resembled something like a very round golden hummingbird. There were so many distractions. The dings of the hoops as the chasers scored goals, the bludgers coming through the air and the words coming from the announcers' booth.

She shook her head. "Focus Stephanie," she ordered herself as she blinked again and suddenly moved as a bludger came right at her. That was why she had so much trouble. There was more than one thing she had to watch out for. Bludgers and a snitch.

Montagnard was scoring like crazy and they were doing a great job. Payton had a good feeling about this game and they were sure to win. It would be a great way to start the year. The ding of the hoops was a great sound to hear. The snitch did not want to be found at all but Payton was trying his best. He looked around for the snitch but came up empty handed.

Just as he was about to zoom off, a bludger came straight towards him. He tried to move away so he wouldn't get hit, but it was too late. He was hit and he was done for the game. His arm felt like it was on fire and he knew that it had to be broken. He was disappointed that he had failed his team and had gotten hurt.

From where Anna was, Montagnard was doing fantastic. It was a great way to start her fourth year. She was exciged because she would soon be out of the school and on with starting her life by herself...she had recieved word from a person who lived near her home that her home and everything had been destroyed in a terrible fire. This had worried her, because that could only mean one thing...her aunt was seeking revenge...or rather to find Anna and end her. She shivered a bit...the thought unnerved her, but she seemed to have her head in the game alright. She smiled as she blocked another shot from Cerisier leaving still with only 10 points. They just had to catch the snitch. She was pretty surprised at how well they were doing. Anna did feel pretty proud about blocking the shots easily. Living with Oz over the summer did have it's advantages. She was able to practice more and just in turn be more free spirited, as long as Mr. Hollow wasn't around, but that didn't seem to much of a problem.

Quentin managed one goal so far, but that was starting to look like a fluke, every other attempt at scoring was either blocked by the keeper or the quaffle was taking from him. His fellow chasers weren't doing much better either. He could tell he was starting to lose to Marie-Laure, something that was oddly enough all the more worse to him than actually losing the game, but it was starting to look like they'd never out score Montagnard. Not at this rate.

"We can still catch the snitch! C'mon new girl!" Quentin attempted to cheer on their new seeker. He wasn't too sure of her name quite yet and she was quite young. He wondered how good of a chance she had at catching the snitch for them. It didn't look too good

"You may win this time, Marie-Laure, but at least I've still got better hair than you," he called to her. He was nearly positive she wouldn't be bothered at all to lose to him in the department of hair, but he said it anyway. Why? He wasn't sure. He just knew he had to one up her somehow and that was the first to come to mind.

It was not secret to anyone that quidditch was a huge part of Christian's life, in fact he would go as far as to say it was his life. It was heartbreaking thinking about not being here next year to lead his team and play the game. He already planned to tryout for a professional team once out of school but it would be the same as his Cerisier's. He would be on the pitch with his cousin anymore, he wouldn't be playing against his best mate or hear his girlfriends voice over the speaker. He wasn't about to let the inevitable get him down to the point where he played poorly, if this was going to be his last year he was going to make sure Cerisier dominated and left impression long after he was gone.

Unfortunately this didn't seem to be working out in his favor. Montagnard continuously scored goal after goal until they were 110 points up on them. Christian and his cousin had worked together to get the quaffle to the other end and score once but that was not nearly enough. It was the most frustrating thing in the world watching his team get smothered like this, he didn't want to leave with everyone remembering how he let Cerisier get creamed. The teen quickly flew next to the Montagnard chaser with the ball and rammed them with his shoulder causing them to lose the quaffle. He took it the other end with the help of his fellow chasers and they scored a second goal. Now to get even more, he thought with a look of determination.

"I'm trying," she called out to one of those D'Angelo boys. The not captain one. It made it so confusing to have two with the same last name on the one team. At least that was one good thing about being the only witch in the family. There was no other Henrau in the school. Much less cause for confusion.

She gasped when the other seeker was hit by a bludger. That did mean it made it easier for her to catch the snitch first but that also meant the game could go on too long and Montagnard will do what Cerisier did last year. Make so many points it didn't matter who caught the snitch. She had to find it sooner rather than later. The captain D'Angelo had managed to score another goal and Stephie hoped that meant they would catch up to Montagnard. That hope dimmed a little in the wake of two more goals from the opposing team.

Osmund wasn't too concerned with winning or losing at this point. To him, he felt that if he won, that would be nice, but if he lost, it was all the same. He had bigger and better things to worry about than Beauxbatons Quidditch games. Maybe he'd feel a bit different if his team wasn't currently creaming Cerisier with points.

He watched with amusement as Christian went a bit overboard and rammed into one of Montagnard's chasers in order to get the quaffle. "Woah! No rough housing, Chris! Leave that to the beaters! We're professionals!" He chuckled as he then flew off in pursuit of a bludger. He found one and then sent it on it's way. He found this laid back way of playing Quidditch to be enjoyable, if not at least fun.

Marie-Laure snorted at his vain remark. She'd never been overly happy with her hair but to have someone draw her attention to it in the middle of a game really rankled. "At least it isn't a mess," she shouted back. If he thought that'd put her off her game he had another thing coming. The Montagnard chasers were a team. A much better team than the Cerisier chasers this year.

Practice had paid off and Marie-Laure scored another goal. "Keep this up and we'll be so far ahead they'll never catch us." And with their seeker down they had to get that far ahead. She smirked when one of the other chasers scored another goal. They could do this. Just two or three more goals and then it wouldn't matter. That was so long as Montoya didn't fall asleep this game.

"Look's like Johnson is out and Miss Sylvian is on fire!" Things were looking good for Montagnard and they could possibly win. "Montoya is doing a great job this game by staying awake, I bet she had some coffee this morning." Coffee was something Caleb was never allowed to have and he wondered what it tasted like. "If you had some coffee, would you share? I wanna know what it tastes like." It probably tasted like heaven in a cup.

"Arguing again, Quinn and Marie-Laure?" Caleb said with a small chuckle, he always noticed them saying things back and forth but he could never tell what they were saying. "Or are you flirting? I can't tell, I can't read lips."

With Montagnard now on 160 points to Cerisier's 20 Stephie knew she had to find that snitch now or they could lose the game. She had no rival seeker in the air to hinder her now. She had to find that snitch. Stephie shifted out of the way of an iron ball. And avoid bludgers.

Finally she saw a flutter of gold and flew off after it completely unaware of the Montagnard chasers in possession of the quaffle. She gritted her teeth and reached out for the snitch just as a ding signalled another goal scored. Her hand closed down around the snitch a fraction of a second later.

Stephie glanced up at the scoreboard and then down at her hand with the enclosed snitch. "So who wins now?" she asked.

Montaganard was simply dominating the game and Paige couldn't be happier. She didn't like to see their seeker fall from the sky, but she had tried to stop that. Thankfully they were so far ahead that it looked like they were going to win without having to catch the snitch so Payton could rest easy in the infirmary. They had been playing an amazing game and she was sure they were making Osmund proud and making his last year as captain look promising.

However she saw the Cerisier seeker suddenly take off after what she assumed was the snitch. Montagnard wasn't far enough ahead just yet to win without the snitch so Paige knew she had to stop the seeker. She hit a bludgers towards her as fast as she could but the dodged it and caught the snitch just as they scored another point. Everyone looked to the score board, they had tied. How had they tied, she had never heard of a tied quidditch game before.

Marie-Laure had barely made her next goal before the snitch was caught. She groaned when she saw the scoreboard. If they'd only managed to get in one more goal they would have won outright. Instead it was a draw.

None of the Quidditch books she'd read ever said what happened in the case of a draw. Was there one final play? Did the catcher of the snitch mean that team won? Marie-Laure hoped not because with the Cerisier seeker being the only seeker in the air she had no competition. Marie-Laure and the other chasers on the other hand had worked hard. Montagnard deserved to win after that monumental effort. Having no clear winner did not sit right at all with the Montagnard chaser but she was not the one who enforced the rules. That decision lay with Professor Bowen alone.

Cerisier was being creamed and Christian knew Montagnard was getting close to having enough points to win the game no matter what they did. He watched his players playing their hardest, well most of them the keeper could wake up, so he couldn't even yell at them too much. His keeper however was probably going to be assigned extra practice, extra practice also meant that Christian would be able to spend an hour or so throwing a quaffle at the boy. He was frustrated that the game was going this way to start off his last year at the school.

Montagnard scored yet another goal receiving a mumbled cursing from Christian. But just as that score was made the game was over. Looking at the board he saw they were tied and he was completely shocked. In all the years he's been playing the game he had never seen two teams tie. Next match would be different, they were going to win next time.

Charon was so embarrassed as he was being positively cremated by the opposing chasers. He was definitely getting a well deserved screaming at by Christian. He was trying so hard, but he just couldn't seem to do anything. He must have been blushing like crazy in embarrassment, he figured. Goal after goal made him look like a sieve. He had been so distracted all summer with his dad making his life an utter mess by being in an out it must have been part of why he wasn't focussed. He literally wanted to scream, this was so embarrassing. Charon sighed meekly.

Rene was excited for another year of great Beauxbatons quidditch. Hopefully Montagnard steam rolled all season and they wouldn't have to ever mention captaining issues ever again. That's what elated him most about Montagnard's so far steam roll. He never would've believed without seeing it, but they were making Cerisier's keeper look like Swiss cheese. "Winthrop looks like absolute trash today." Rene said bluntly "Just proves last season was an utter fluke and he's an average to below average keeper. Actually, definitely a below average keeper." Rene said in distaste with a shake of the head. "This is just sloppy undisciplined quidditch. If I was the Cerisier captain this is a 'next week you're sitting out' type of situation."

Annaliese was through off guard by this unheard of event...the teams had never tied before...she was not exactly sure is this meant, they were to play another game to make up for this one...or if both teams could potentially win the cup? What would happen. She shrugged and flew down to the ground and smiled patting Payton on the back. "You'll get them next time, Johnson" she laughed and started towards the locker room. She was a little curious as to how the whole ordeal would go down with Oz..maybe just in the spirit of the new year, he would just let it go. However, she knew that it was his and Christian's last year...that mean that the heat was on and it was anyone's Qudditch Cup.
