A new year a new season. The teams hadn't gotten anyone new again this year and things seemed like they were going to be same as always. Only it wasn't, this year there was a vampire on the loose somewhere which, by order of the head mistress, had kept all the students inside. The only time the students came outside was when the care of magical creatures professor went in the palace and escorted each of his classes out. This meant that the poor captains had been unable to get their teams out for some practice. This game might just come down to which team practiced more over the summer, but not necessarily. This game was going to be a tough one for the out of practice teams, and she was sure they were all going to give it their all.

The head mistress had almost canceled the match until the vampire was caught, but Bowen was not going to have any of that. She had made a good point about keeping the students year as normal as possible, and they all needed some fresh air eventually. There was now a line of professors between the pitch and the palace door watching the students on their way to the stadium. Once everyone was seated the teams came out. Both captains were very passionate about the game and she was suret they gave them a good speech in the changing rooms. "Welcome one and all the first game of the season. I want both teams to give it their all, but play fair. Captains please shake hands. And let's let the game begin." She said before releasing the balls and taking off on her broom.

Game closes on Oct. 25th

First game of the season and how much practice had they had? Zero, that's how much. She didn't even have the advantage of practising over the summer. At least not with flying a broom. Marie-Laure however had at least managed to play basketball and football with friends. Two games which she believed would have at least helped with her with the handling of a ball, even if the later was only played with her feet and head.

She was up in the air with the rest of her team and waved her hand at one of her fellow chasers who'd managed to capture the quaffle but was hemmed in. Finally it looked like perhaps they trusted her as the ball was thrown to her and she flew off down the pitch and passed it off to the other Montagnard chaser. They were in a much better position to score. The quaffle was thrown toward the goal hoops and Marie-Laure held her breath in the hope that Charon would fail to block the goal.

Linette was glad to be out of the Palace walls. To be unable to go anywhere other than a supervised trip to Care of Magical Creatures made her stircrazy. Reading was fun but it was much more fun if she could get out in the fresh air on occasion. Besides she still couldn't see how it could possibly be more dangerous out here than within the Palace if that's where the vampire was.

No more time to dwell on that problem. There was a game to announce. She turned to her fellow announcer. "Ready Caleb?" she asked before she switched on the enchanted microphone. "Hello all you wonderful spectators out there," she called. "I'm sure you're all happy to be finally out in the fresh air. Especially those of you unfortunate enough to not be enrolled in Care of Magical Creatures.

"Yet again there have been no changes to the team line-ups which shows just how young our teams really have been over the past two years. That actually might be a blessing in disguise since our poor teams haven't been allowed to practice this year. If they're a little rusty just be easy on them okay?"

Caleb was so glad to be out of the castle, things were getting so boring without being able to go outside. As soon as he felt the fresh air against his face, he drew in some fresh air. Normally he didn't like the outdoors and despised it, but after being indoors for so long, he wasn't about to deny how amazing the air felt. He wondered how the game was going to go since no one was able to practice unless it was over the summer. Things were going to be interesting or boring.

Caleb nodded at the older girl. "I wonder if vampires can play quidditch," he said to the crowd. "Maybe they're watching the game." There were a lot of rumors going around about who the vampire was and his cousin's name had slipped from the lips of many students. Caleb knew that this rumor wasn't true but Mabel was having a great time keeping the rumor up. "Maybe they're in the stands watching the game." He smirked a bit before adding. "You guys know the rumors going around, so you might know who the vampire is."

Annaliese was a little catious about this first game. The team hadnt had much practice and the hopes of either of them winning seemed to based off how much each team had practiced over the summer. Which in her case wasn't a lot. Not only had she gotten held back by her aunt, her aunt had also announced her betrothal to the one, the only Osmund Hollow. It was enough to say, she wasnt too happy about this nor was the new Blonde. It was strange to look at Oz as he fiancee...she couldn't wrap her head. But enough of that, she to make up for lost practice with this game. "Bring it on Cerisier. She glared at the team. This was sure to be an eventful game.

The rumor of a vampire was still going around and it made practicing hard and they weren't able to practice at all. Payton didn't believe in the rumor and thought it was a load of crap. Though the headmistress had said there was a vampire, Payton didn't believe the rumors the students told. It would suck to be accused of being a vampire, especially if you were a first year. He couldn't imagine coming to a new school and getting accused of being a vampire, it just seemed rude to accuse a poor person of being a vampire.

Payton was so excited to be back outside, the air in the castle wasn't as great as the fresh air outside. Luckily, Payton had practiced over the summer. He did teach Adela the sport for a week and he also practiced a bit afterwards. So, he had an advantage there. He wasn't sure how this game would go. Hopefully Montagnard would win this game, but it was anyone's game.

As soon as Payton was off the ground, he was looking for the snitch. He was going to be on his game today and try his best because it would come down to the snitch and he needed that snitch. Payton let out a cheer when Montagnard was the first to score. "Let's win this!" he cheered to his teammates. "We can do it!"

Cerisier vs Montagnard: Round I Empty Re: Cerisier vs Montagnard: Round I

Post by Osmund Hollow Sun Oct 20, 2013 7:48 pm

Osmund didn't know how much he missed the sun until the lockdown had been established. It wasn't odd for him to spend minimal time outside, for the only times he had really gone out before almost always dealt with quidditch. However, even their practices had been inhibited by the shutdown, which Osmund thought was completely rubbish. They tried to practice theories while being locked indoors, but it wasn't the same as actually getting out on the pitch.

"I hope all of you got your fill of practice during the summer," He scowled. "The only plus of us being out of practice is that so is Cerisier, so there really isn't any excuse for us to lose today," Osmund reasoned to his team, before taking to the sky and being amazed at how nice it actually felt to breath fresh air in abundance and have sunbeams shine on his pale skin.

He was already feeling off, hitting a few bludgers and watching them spiral completely out of control. He felt personally embarrassed and hoped no one would pick up on it. His ears heard whispers of rumors of who the vampire was. He rolled his eyes. Vampires had nothing to do with quidditch and surely the players being in the sky kept them safe from getting attacked.

Cerisier vs Montagnard: Round I Empty Re: Cerisier vs Montagnard: Round I

Post by Guest Sun Oct 20, 2013 9:18 pm

Christian wasn't bothered by the shutdown that was going on. When asked why he didn't seem upset about it he would answer with something dismissive about not really needing the fresh air, he wouldn't dare tell them the real reason. At first he hadn't given any thought to the shutdown at first but he started to realize how much he missed the fresh air and sun light. That was when he learned why he wasn't named the Cerisier prefect, besides the obvious fact that Linette was amazing, he didn't care about rules.

Christian also wasn't bothered by the fact that they hadn't had time to practice this year. Well that one was almost a lie, most of his team didn't have practice which was concerning. But he had spent about seventy percent of his summer flying around and practicing on his make-shift quidditch pitch. He was more than ready for the game and as long as his team practiced at all this summer they were ahead of the others practice wise. There was no excuse for them not winning today, the other team was in the same position as them.

Before they knew it the game had begun. Christian was so focused on the game he didn't even notice his best mates hair this year. As soon as the whistle blew Montagnard got the quaffle but they got it soon enough and they spent awhile trading it back and forth, until Montagnard scored. Finally the captain had enough and took the ball all the way to the goals and scored without any passing. Sadly that didn't do much when the other team scored again bringing them ahead. As soon as Christian got the quaffle back from that score he threw it to his cousin. "Come on Quinn!" He yelled before flying ahead to be ready if the boy needed to pass it. One way or another they ended up scoring on that run.

Bloody Hollow acting like all of them had access to a Quidditch pitch over the summer. Marie-Laure had enough troubles as it was with family issues. She did not need to be made to feel guilty on top of that just because she lived totally in a muggle home during the summer. She threw a scowl in his direction. Words could wait until after the match when she would have hopefully shown that just because she could not practice Quidditch during the summer, muggle sports were just as useful for practice.

Thankfully her first attempt at a goal was successful and then one of the other chasers helped to bump the score up by another ten points. "Great stuff," she yelled at her teammate. It wasn't so good to have Cerisier catch up to them but then Marie-Laure managed to score another goal bringing them ahead of Cerisier again. She was determined to make that gap bigger but a bludger coming her way meant moving fast and missing the quaffle. "Bellerose and Hollow where are you two?"

"Don't worry about the vampire watching Caleb," Linette returned and then smirked in the direction of one of the players before adding, "I've heard the Vampire is actually playing. He loves sniffing books, drinking blood and is Captain of the Montagnard Quidditch Team. That's right everyone. Somebody had an interesting experience over the summer." If that vampire had done one good thing for Linette it'd helped her forget some of the guilt she felt over her sister transferring to Durmstrang.

"And would you look at that, first goal of the match goes to Montagnard. Nashed your teeth at your team in the change rooms Osmund so that they would perform for you?" She slapped the table causing the microphone to squeal. "Oops. Sorry about that. Just had to tell everyone that Montagnard has scored again. Apparently Cerisier's keeper is afraid that the entire Montagnard team have become vampires. Look at that Montoya's now having trouble keeping goals out as Cerisier scores two in a row. Good going there Christian. Want a reward later for winning?" He certainly did look good up there on his broom.

"Sylvian has scored again for Montagnard bringing them ten points ahead of Cerisier. I do wonder how the seeker who replaced Louise will do. Has anyone wondered how on earth Cerisier managed to find someone to take her place?" And the guilty feeling came back. Linette had an awful feeling if Cerisier lost this match she was going to feel like it was all her fault.

Post by Quentin D'Angelo Mon Oct 21, 2013 1:29 pm

Quentin didn't like to admit it, but he was sort of spooked by the idea of a vampire walking the hallways of the school. He considered himself lucky that he hadn't encountered the vampire yet (though a few lesser pleasant students made him skeptical) and vowed to keep his good luck charms close to ensure that things remained that way.

With his leprechaun print socks on, he had nothing to worry about. They were so lucky that it didn't matter if he hadn't had any practice at all. He was still going to kick some serious Montagnard ass in that game, or so he said and then found himself quaffless for most of the game thus far.

Christian was on fire and popping goals with little aid and it wasn't until the quaffle was thrown at him that Quentin had finally gotten ahold of the ball that game. He nearly dropped it, finding it a surprise, and did a dance with his hands trying to seize a hold on the ball. When he finally grasped it, it was in his possession for mere moments before a Montagnard swooped in a took it from him. "Sorry, Chris!" Quentin shouted at his cousin before chasing after the thief.

Paige didn't like the shutdown, not one bit. She hated the dark and inside the palace seemed like the darkest place in the world now. Between the threat of a vampire looming over their head and the face that they simply couldn't go outside she felt like she was being kept in a cave. This summer she had got a tiny bit of quidditch practicing done, but she wasn't allowed to fly too high since there were muggles close by. So her practice wasn't nearly as good as she had wanted.

When the Montagnard team met up for the first game in the changing rooms that they hadn't seen yet this year it became clear not everyone got practice. This game was going to be a toughy, but Paige was up for it. At first some of her bludgers went flying off in the opposite direction, making her face red from embarrassment. She finally got better and was able to shoot them at the other team. She growled when Marie- Laure said something about her and Oz. They were trying their hardest without practice this was hard. She smacked the bludger away from the chaser and at a green and blue chaser. The player she had hit it at dodged it and scored, making her growl again.

"Vampires playing quidditch? That's new! Someone should write a children's book about that, it sounds interesting." If the vampire was a player, that meant Mabel was off the hook. Even though the rumor wasn't true at all, Mabel kept up with it. "But I don't think there's a vampire playing quidditch to be honest, I just can't imagine it." As the game began to go on, Caleb leaned back in his seat. Linette talked about her sister leaving and Caleb felt kind of bad for her, he couldn't imagine his cousins leaving him at school alone. He gave the older girl a reassuring smile, he hoped the girl would feel better soon.

"Looks like there might be some tension on the field," Caleb stated, watching the game intensely. "People that are on the same team aren't supposed to bicker with each other, ladies." Caleb shot a grin to his blonde friend but she probably didn't see it. "Come on teams! You can do it!"

The game was not going at all like Christian wanted it to, every time Cerisier scored and caught up Montagnard scored again. He had tossed the quaffle to his cousin who immediately lost it to a Montagnard chaser. He loved his little cousin and didn't want to yell at him but he had to admit that in the heat of the game it was really frustrating to watch the boy drop it. Instead of saying anything to the young boy Christian chased after the purple and red clad player with the quaffle. Just as they were about to score the teen bumped into him, not enough to make it too noticable, but just enough to make them lose focus so he could snatch the quaffle back.

The frustrated  captain took the ball all the way to the other side and scored. The other team recovered it but found a bludger in their face soon after. Christian was proud of his beaters for being able to time that bludger that well. The chaser had to swerve to avoid being hit giving the teen a chance to take back the ball. He tossed it back to Quinn and flew ahead slightly ready to take it back if the boy needed to throw it away to keep the others from it. He looked up to the announcers box with a small smirk at Linette's comment about a reward, but turned back to the game not wanting to get too distracted.

Annaliese was feel more than pressured to do well, despite having gotten little to nothing practice over the summer. She sighed Cerisier pushed ahead by ten points. "Damn you D'Angelo" she said in a spliting tone. It aggravated her how easily they could win, by pushing by on scoring on her. She tried her best to knock out some our the shots which, in turn were successful. However, she just couldn't get her head in the game..she was indeed trying her so, tht should have counted for something. Right? Wrong! Oz looked pissed and just as stressed as she was, she knew why of course. She felt bad for him, she knew it was hard for him..it was just as difficult for her.

With every bludger that he struck with less strength than he had last year and less precision, Osmund was growing more and more impatient. It was one thing to be mad at the half-effort playing of his teammates, but this time it was he who was doing a shitty job. He nearly growled at the freckled chaser when she had criticized his playing, but stopped himself when he realized that would only prove Linette was right, that he did growl.

Speaking of the annoying girl, her voice rung out on the pitch as her and the equally loquacious young blonde discussed the topic of the vampire. He almost swung the next bludger at the announcer's box when she accused him of being the vampire, in front of the whole school. "Are you crazy!?" He called, incredulous, but couldn't dwell on it for long, as there was a game to play. The last thing he needed was people calling him a vampire.

What was worse was the comment she said clearly aimed at Christian, which made Osmund nearly throw up in his mouth. What Christian saw in that girl, he would never know.

He watched as the chaser's fought over the quaffle between the two teams and ended up knocking out one of the opposing beaters. Maybe now his team would be able to hold onto the quaffle better.

Poor Caleb still had a lot to learn about announcing and suspending belief. Didn't he know his task was to egg the players on and as a Montagnard he should really start targeting the Cerisier players. "You just need to inject a little more imagination into your head and you can do it with ease," she retorted with ease. "Don't you think he could pass for a vampire or maybe a werewolf with his dangerous looks? Oops. I forgot to mention that Cerisier has now evened up the scores. That's the way to do it. Keep it up."

She laughed at Caleb's comment. "Oh don't worry. I'm sure the captain will have words at some point since Sylvian did level that criticism at him too. I would have thought the chasers should know by now that they need to learn to dodge bludgers and not rely solely on the beaters to keep them away. And Cerisier has scored again. They are getting ahead of the Montagnards.

"Not at all Osmund," she called out. "I'm perfectly sane and just testing a little theory of mine." A theory which worked perfectly because he snapped at her just like she'd expected. "Cerisier has scored again. Fifty points to Montagnard's measly thirty. That team in purple and red really needs to pull up their game if they mean to beat Cerisier."

All this finger pointing over who the vampire was drove Marie-Laure crazy. Why couldn't people just follow the headmistresses instructions instead of coming up with wild theories? She shook her head at the mad announcer at her own captain who was biting back. Couldn't he tell that she was looking for a reaction? It was obvious to Marie-Laure because she was the only one in the whole school who really listened when they were told what to look out for. And it was not someone who had been in the school for years.

She shook her head at the entire crazy situation and threw the quaffle successfully through the right goal hoop. It still didn't help them to catch up to Cerisier but there was still hope that Payton would catch the snitch. He may not have gotten much practice but Marie-Laure seriously doubted the other seeker had as much experience as him. She had no clue where Puchard had gone but she didn't care. It only gave Montagnard an advantage. "Johnson have you found the snitch yet?" she yelled. She may have faith in his ability but it didn't mean she couldn't give him a little encouragement to end this game that little bit faster.

The Cerisier seeker wasn't as good as Payton and it showed. It was obvious they hadn't practiced like Payton had. In all honesty, Payton wouldn't have practiced at all if Adela hadn't had visited him. If Payton caught the snitch, he would have to thank Adela for the win.

Cerisier was winning and the game was intense. Captain D'Angelo kept scoring and it seemed like no one else had their hands on the quaffle besides him. But that didn't matter, what mattered was catching the snitch. Cerisier had scored once more, which made Payton more determined.

With the snitch in his sight, Payton gained speed and reached out. Closer....closer....a bit closer... He wrapped his fingers around the golden ball and held it high in the air for the crowd to see. "We won!" He cheered, all that practice had payed off.

Charon's quidditch had been on the up and up recently. It was mostly just a jump in confidence. He was just content with life. Well, minus the whole vampire thing, that scared him terribly. He was ninety nine percent sure that if anyone was bitten, it'd probably be him. He watched out onto the field noticing he was squinting a lot. It wasn't too bright out or anything. People just looked smaller. He blinked as he watched the players go around. He wasn't playing bad or anything, quite the opposite actually, it was just, something was off. He'd talk to the wizard at the infirmary ward after the game.

Paige was confused as to why the announcers were making such a big deal out of what happened between the beaters and the chaser. She was simply making a comment and Paige was sure she hadn't growled loud enough for anyone to hear, besides it wasn't meant to be mean. She sure hoped Marie-Laure didn't think she was trying to start anything between them. She made a note talk to Caleb about that later perhaps. She decided to ignore the situation for the time being and focus on the game first.

The small blonde smacked a bludger towards the Cerisier seeker, hoping to by Payton some time to find the snitch. The Cerisier captain was always with the quaffle, every time Paige looked up she found him with the ball. If this continued like that for far too long they wouldn't be able to win even with the snitch, she looked over to see where Payton was. She just happened to look up in time to see the boy catch the snitch. The girl smiled brightly and flew to the ground happily. It was kind of sad though that the game was over and they would all have to go back inside now for a few more weeks of darkness.

The shutdown did more damage than Quentin had initially thought and his lucky socks were not helping out much either. He kept dropping the quaffle or losing it to the opposite team and scored a minimal amount of the goals that game. Cerisier had been in the lead all thanks to his overly enthusiastic about Quidditch cousin, Christian.

He was on his way to raising the score by another goal when suddenly the snitch was caught and it was all over. Initially he was surprised, then disappointment filled his face. He knew how poorly he had done in this game. He had already managed to fail his sister, and now he had done the same for his cousin.

When the snitch was caught, Charon sighed in frustration. He and Christian have a good game, Cerisier is in the lead and the seeker can't catch the snitch. He flew over to Paige to congratulate her like normal and then down to the changing rooms. He ran a hand through his hair.  He was positively exhausted. He just wanted to win when he had a good game once because every time it seems like he doesn't do too bad and the chasers are clicking, it's the snitch that's not caught, causing them to lose. Charon yawned, oh well, there was always next game
