Term 16 Potions Exam

Professor Belyakov looked out into his crowded classroom. He watched as all of the students as they dipped their quills into their inkpots. He was especially keeping an eye out for any cheaters.

"Welcome to your Potions Exam Session," Professor Belyakov said. "I trust that all of you have studied and are well-prepared for this, and all of your exams. The other professors and I have strict no-cheating policy. If I catch you cheating on this exam, you will receive an automatic unsatisfactory grade, most likely fail my class, and will be sent to Madame Leblanc immediately for your punishment."

"Give this exam your best effort. If you aren't sure of an answer, make an guess anyway. Your exam time starts right now."

Ooc: This is a chance to win some house points. In this thread, you will roleplay how your character takes an exam. Do they cheat, or are they honest (maybe include who they cheated off of)? Did your student study? Are they guessing on every question? After you are finished with your post, a Minister will tell you you your grade (Oustanding, Satisfactory, Unsatisfactory) and whether or not they got caught cheating. The grades influence how many points your house gets. No points will be awarded for an Unsatisfactory. A Satisfactory will receive 5 points, and an Outstanding will receive 10 points.

The posts must be at least 100 words long (like all posts on this site) and they must clearly say if your student cheated and whether or not they studied. Just because they cheat, doesn't mean they'll get caught. And your student could fail if they studied, or pass if they didn't study. Have fun!

Gregory was nervous, as usual. Potions was by far his worst class and he picked this one not to study for. It was completely hopeless. Not only was he bad at Potions, he was bad a test taker.

He did all his homework and worked very hard in the class, so he hoped he had enough of a curb in that area to still pass the class.

The second year dipped his quill into the ink and tried to answer questions. He knew some of the answers, and that was good enough for him. He rushed to finish. He just wanted to be done with it.

Lucie was a natural in potions. She couldn't explain why. It just made sense to her. This ingredient would react with that ingredient in this manner and so forth. Probably a bit like the Chemistry stuff her older brother did at school she supposed. It was a little galling to work out she had something in common with Owen but family was family. And it did make studying for the coming exam easier.

She entered the room with more confidence than she would have had if it'd been charms or transfiguration. And even smiled when she was finally allowed to look at the exam questions. Lucie didn't take long to get through it and managed to finish with time to spare. If only all her exams were this easy.

Haruhi was embarrassed as she took her time to enter the classroom and take her seat. She had been meaning to study for her potions exam, but she had been too caught up in quidditch practice and studying for her other exams that she had forgotten to do so. She even overslept on this fate-determining day.

Her sleepy eyes traced over the words scrawled over the parchment, her quill raised over it but not yet marking it up. Hardly any of these questions were making sense to her. She frowned as she knew a bad grade would simply be unacceptable. She was a third year and wasn't a child anymore. Her scores on exams would mean more and more as she got older. For a moment, Haruhi considered peeking over at the paper on the desk beside her, but she knew she simply couldn't cheat. She didn't have the brass to do so. Instead, she did her best to fill in the answers with what she felt made sense and turned in the test with little enthusiasm when she was done.

Julie-Pierre went into the Potions lab determined to get a passing grade. He had forced himself to study. It was terribly boring, but he needed to pass. Even though he wasn't specifically talking to Autumn, he wanted to move on to fourth year with her. Maybe by then, he'd be able to look his best friend in the face without feeling weird. Maybe fourteen would make more sense.

So he sat down, and meticulously filled in the correct answers. He had to get this right. It needed to be perfect. This grade meant pass or fail. And he wanted to pass. For Autumn.
