It Ends Tonight
Being out past curfew was one of the simple pleasures Marceline often indulged in. Not that she was an incredible trouble maker, she just occasionally got into a brawl with a fellow student and never really liked showing up to class on time. Skipping class was never as pleasurable as past curfew walks. For one, on past curfew walks, there were no other people around to bother her. For another, the stars were out and a certain peace fell across the school which Marceline found soothing. For a hotheaded personality like she had, it was a nice escape. It wasn't often that Marceline Bones felt at peace.
Marceline had made her way through the empty dark corridors without any disturbances. She had yet to be caught by anyone since her second year and by now she was incredibly stealthy. Without a sound, the short haired girl slipped through a door and found herself outside. The night was warm and a clear sky hung above her head where a thousand stars twinkled. She breathed in the air, sighing. Term was coming towards an end and she had to admit it was very calamitous. Between nearly failing classes and the incident with Ruby, Marceline she had a lot more trouble coming her way in the last week of term.
She sat down on a rock decoration in the garden and held her cold knees to her t-shirted chest. She felt somewhat alone but knew she couldn't possibly trust anyone else with her secret midnight spot. She couldn't possibly trust anyone with anything. That was her motto. She always had carried her own weight and always would. Marceline sighed again and dropped her chin to rest on her knees. Oh what a lonely world it was.
