Commentator Tryouts Empty Commentator Tryouts

It was that time of year again, the beginning of a new year at Beauxbatons meaning it was once again time for quidditch tryouts. This was one of the professor's favorite times to be the flying instructor, however it could also be very stressful to choose students for the teams especially since their were only two teams and a ton of students wanting to be on those two teams. However she was always able to decide in the end and she just loved the happy looks on the students faces when they flew around the pitch and you could always see that moment when each one of them finally got some confidence in their tryout performance. There used to be a time when she could just hold all of the tryouts for both teams and the commentators at the same time now she had to stagger them throughout the day. The final tryouts this Saturday morning was the tryouts for the commentators.

Professor Bowen walked out onto the quidditch pitch to see a group of excited students standing in the center, some scared looking and others confident. She stood in the middle and quickly got everyones attention, "Alright everyone welcome to this years Quidditch Commentator Tryouts." She said loud enough for everyone to hear her. "How this is going to work is like this. Some decoy players will play out a small portion of a quidditch match and each one of you will take turns giving your comments on the match as if it were a real game." She told them all slowly to be sure they all understood. "Alright so with that let's get started. She finished before starting the tryouts.

Now, Charlotte was not one to brag, but she was definitely dating the hottest person on the Montagnard Team: Philip Bracknell. Was he a potato who kept giving her calculators he thought were hand held computers? Yes, yes he was, but aside from that quidditch was a great thing for them to bond over. Plus, Charlotte loved to ramble about things, announcing was literally invented for her.

Smiling warmly she stepped into the box and sat down watching as the decoy game started. "And number thirteen from Cerisier has the quaffle. She's streaming her way through defenders and miraculously dodges a bludger sent at her by number eight in Montagnard. To her left a Cerisier chaser is picking up steam and has caught a pass. Now, he is zooming towards Montagnard's keep. He makes a move shoots for the bottom right post and scores! Goal goes to Cerisier!"

Usually Indigo wouldn't try out for something like this. She would get nervous in front of large crowds but Cori had convinced her to try out for the announcer position. She couldn't believe she was actually doing this, her heart raced as she waited for it to be her turn. A thin layer of sweat covered the second year's face and hands. Was it too late to back out? No, but something made her stay where she was. Why couldn't she just run away and never leave her dorm again? Maybe it was because she promised Cori she'd try.

After a bit of waiting, she was told to take her turn. She took a seat in the announcers box and watched what was happening in fronbgt of her. After talking with her friend, she knew some quidditch terms. "U-um, well," she paused to clear her throat. "The keeper just blocked the goal so the other player couldn't score." She fiddled with her thumbs and bit her lip. Was this over yet? She sighed and added, "Blue and green clashed player just scored." She was done. That was it. She couldn't do anymore. She got up from her chair and waited with the rest of the people that tried out.

Commentator Tryouts Empty Re: Commentator Tryouts

Guen didn’t get too freaked out talking to crowds and she wasn’t all that involved with anything in the school…(well except for her boyfriend, but that certainly did not count). None of the clubs interested her all that much. (No offense to anyone in them). She certainly could not try out for the house quidditch team. That would be disastrous. The next best thing was being a commentator. Guen had learned so much about quidditch, mainly for Trent, but she still knew a lot about that.

Taking a deep breath, Guen entered the box and took a seat. If she didn’t make it then that was okay. She just was not meant to be a commentator. The decoy game began, she decided to wait for it to pick up before saying anything. “Cerisier has gotten a hold of the quaffle and they don’t seem to be letting go of it any time soon! Cerisier number 4 is zooming up the outside for a pass from their fellow chaser.” She cringed watching a bludger sent towards a Montagnard decoy, they moved at the last possible second. “Yikes! Montagnard almost lost a player.” Was that they right thing to say? Who knows. “Cerisier is advancing on Montagnard’s posts, number 15 takes a shot for the lower left post and scores! 10 points to Cerisier.” Guen felt pretty good about that… but who knows. She wouldn’t sweat it if she didn’t make it.
