It was that time of year again, the beginning of a new year at Beauxbatons meaning it was once again time for quidditch tryouts. This was one of the professor's favorite times to be the flying instructor, however it could also be very stressful to choose students for the teams especially since their were only two teams and a ton of students wanting to be on those two teams. However she was always able to decide in the end and she just loved the happy looks on the students faces when they flew around the pitch and you could always see that moment when each one of them finally got some confidence in their tryout performance. There used to be a time when she could just hold all of the tryouts for both teams and the commentators at the same time now she had to stagger them throughout the day. The final tryouts this Saturday morning was the tryouts for the commentators.

Professor Bowen walked out onto the quidditch pitch to see a group of excited students standing in the center, some scared looking and others confident. She stood in the middle and quickly got everyones attention, "Alright everyone welcome to this years Quidditch Commentator Tryouts." She said loud enough for everyone to hear her. "How this is going to work is like this. Some decoy players will play out a small portion of a quidditch match and each one of you will take turns giving your comments on the match as if it were a real game." She told them all slowly to be sure they all understood. "Alright so with that let's get started. She finished before starting the tryouts.

René took a deep breath and walked into the booth. "Okay. Montagnard decoy chaser has the quaffle, she's flying fast around to the Cerisier Keeper's clear weak side, watch how he hovers, clear favoritism of the right hoop, typically that means it's the one the keeper feels most uncomfortable with so they feel the need to puppy guard it just in case, Montagnard passes it center and it is caught by a Cerisier chaser who is soaring low, to the left side of the pitch a Montagnard beater is honing in on a bludger and he hits it! It's soaring fast and right in between a pair of Montagnard chasers to nail the quaffle carrier in the side, the quaffle is falling and Montagnard has scooped it up! It's a three on o rush, all the Cerisier chasers are behind, the quaffle is being passed around, left chaser, center, left again, right, center, shot, Montagnard scores!" He trilled his 'r' and extended his 'o' just like he'd heard the announcers for the Barcelona soccer team do on his grandfather's television. It was amazing and exhilarating. So wonderful it made him grin in excitement. Wow, he actually had an opportunity to announce quidditch games, it was a dream come true for him. Announcing sports was something he'd wanted to do since he was a little kid. Of course he always thought the games he would announce would be on the ground and with a soccer ball, but still, announcing quidditch was somehow better. Maybe it was because he was starting to feel like he belonged here. Sure he wasn't as wealthy as a lot of the kids he'd met, but this place still felt like a home away from his apartment, and that was good enough for him. As long as he'd be able to announce the quidditch games René didn't think he'd feel so excluded. He sighed, all his time was up, but gosh that was so much fun, he really hoped he'd get selected.

Caleb didn't know much about quidditch until he asked his brother about the sport. He was given a long lecture about the sport and its rules. He thought it would be a good idea to try out as an accouncer for the sport, Patrick would be so proud. Though he knew little, most of the information going through one ear and out the other, he was going to try his best. What could go wrong.

Finally, it was his turn. He sighed, becoming a bit nervous. Why was he nervous about this? It wasn't that much of a big deal. He walked into the booth, ready as he would ever be. "Hello everyone! Its a bright day out today, a perfect day to play some quidditch." He smiled a great smile. "Okay, so there's the chaser, a girl with long brown hair, and she's flying and..." He wasn't sure what he was doing, it was quite obvious that she was flying.

"Um, someone just scored! Points to Cerisier! Yay!" He clapped at the act, rooting for both houses. Though he was in the other house, he didn't care about who won. He was just happy that someone had, that's all that mattered. "Ooo! That has got to hurt! A Montagnard beater just hit a Ceriser with bludger!" He watched the action in front of him like the players had been replaced with candy. "I hope he's okay!"

After his turn, Caleb exited the booth with a smile on his face. He thought he had done pretty well. If he did make the cut, his brother would be the first to hear about it.
