Do You Want to Build a Snowman? Empty Do You Want to Build a Snowman?

The snow was falling and the sight of the outside was gorgeous, white covered everything and flurries fell like feathers on the already white ground. It was a sight to take in, something you wouldn't want to forget. The weather called for a hat, gloves, extra layers, and whatever else you could put on to keep warm. Ruby stuffed her long hair into her hat and buttoned up her coat as she stepped outside. She calmly breathed in and out and watched her breath fog. She always liked the winter, it was the perfect time to go crazy and do childish things. But she had one thing in mind to do today and that was to build a snowman, or several snowmen. Maybe a snow woman. She wasn't picky, maybe she could even get someone to join her.

She rubbed her gloved hands together before sticking them into the snow and began rolling the bottom of the snow creature. She was almost finished with the first part when she spotted someone. "Wanna build a snowman?" she called to the person with a grin.

Stephanie needed to get away to any place her sister was not. She could not believe her bad luck in not only having Christine in Cerisier with her but also on the Cerisier Quidditch team with her as well. How did that happen? Christine was the delicate flower type of girl who'd never played Quidditch in her life and now she was beater for Cerisier? A position with Stephanie believed needed muscle.

She shook her head at the incredulity of it all as she wrapped her scarf around her neck before stepping out of the place and onto the snowy grounds. What she needed was a new distraction whilst Christine was holed up somewhere complaining about the snow or whatever it was she did in weather like this.

And just like that someone gave her exactly what she needed. Someone in the form of Ruby. Stephie flashed the younger girl a smile. "Sure. Do you need help finishing that first part?" she asked as she ran up to Ruby.

It was nice to take her mind off of the drama that had happened earlier in the year. She needed a break from worrying about things and building a snowman sounded like the perfect way to get her mind off of things. It was always fun to build a snowman, she used to do it with her mama and papa when she was younger. Once the snowman was done, they would go inside for hot chocolate.

She was delighted that she knew the person she had called to instead of it being a random stranger. Ruby wasn't one to be shy, she talked to just about everyone but it was nice to see a familiar face. "A little help would be nice," she replied with a grin. "We should name our snowman. Or should it be a snow woman? I'm not picky." The gender of the snow person didn't matter much to Ruby, as long as they got the snow person finished she didn't care.

"What about Diane?" Stephanie suggested. She liked the idea of naming the snowman after the person she most missed in the world. "There are so many snowmen built out there that we should have a snowwoman." She wished she had a wig for her. One the colour of her mother's blonde hair. There were other ways of showing it was a snowwoman weren't there?

She clapped her gloved hands together. "Tell me what to do and I'll do it." Stephanie stood at attention and waited for further instructions. She may have made snowmen before but she did not want to mess up any plans Ruby may have made for building the snowman.

"Diane? What a perfect name!" A snowwoman would be a great way to show people that there can be more than just snowmen. Ruby just wanted to have fun and play in the snow, her determined nature made her want to finish the snow pal. She was excited about this project now, giving the snow an identity was a nice way of showing that it wasn't just a pile of snow to her. She just hoped no one would knock it down when they were finished.

"Do whatever you'd like, we must be creative! Diane can't be like all the other snow people, she's special so she must look special! We need to put effort into it and just be creative." She grinned at the older girl, hopefully she understood that Ruby just wanted her to do whatever she'd like and just have fun with it.

Stephanie was pleased with Ruby's agreement about the name. In a way she felt like she was honouring the woman who first taught her the beauty of music. It may have sounded strange to anyone else that a snowwman was considered an honour for someone special and she didn't even dare try to tell Ruby why she chose the name.

"Creative," Stephanie muttered and wondered how to do that. First she would just roll balls of snow and see where it lead on from there. The fourth year was soon rolling up a new ball of snow ready to build up onto the the base. It was hard work but Stephie believed it would be worth it in the end. She paused mid roll. "Do you have anything we can use to decorate her with?"
