The Last Goodbye Empty The Last Goodbye

Post by Guest Thu Jan 02, 2014 3:30 am

Graduation was getting closer and closer, now it was only two weeks away. All year Christian had been acting like he was more than ready to graduate and leave everyone here that he didn't like but if he was going to be honest with himself, this place was like his home. He knew that lots of people said the palace was their second home but for this teen it was more like his first home, because his other location in France never really felt like home. Of course he wouldn't tell anyone that because it was sappy and made him sound stupid. Everyone else in their year seemed to have everything ready to leave but Christian hadn't even started packing yet. His trunk was completely empty and his wardrobe completely packed still, he just didn't feel like packing it all up quite yet because then the room would be too empty.

With nothing much left to do since seventh year exams were over classes didn't give homework anymore. So like usual whenever Christian was feeling a bit down or simply had nothing better to do he went out to go flying. Luckily the pitch was empty so there was no one to bother him, he smiled at this before mounting his broom and taking off. He flew up higher than the goal posts which was so rare for him as chaser and smiled, he shouldn't become a seeker so he could fly higher more often. The wind was cooler up there and it blew a bit harder up there with nothing to block its path. The teen smiled a genuine smile as the wind blew all of his now shaggy hair around his face. He forgot how nice it was to fly without worrying about winning or losing, he had spent so much time worrying about making his last year as quidditch captain memorable.

The Cerisier had been so lost in the thought and up so high that he didn't notice that someone had walked out onto the pitch and was standing near the edge watching him. It wasn't until he flew in a circles looping around the goal posts did he see them. Normally he would ignore anymore that came in while he was flying but he was pretty sure he knew this person this time. As he flew closer he learned he was right and went over to them landing close enough he didn't have to dismount to be within talking distance. "Hey there what brings you all the way out here?" He asked knowing seeing this particular person on the pitch was a rare site.

Xavior stood on the quidditch pitch, a place he rarely set foot on, and waited for Christian to notice him. He kicked at a loose clump of grass with the toe of his boot and smiled when Chris finally noticed him and swooped down.
"I just wanted to talk to you. It's gonna be weird, you know, parting ways and all..." He trailed off. He didn't particularly want to part ways with his long-time friend but it seemed inevitable, with graduating looming so close on the horizon. He almost wished that school wouldn't end just so he wouldn't have to face leaving his friends behind. "Maybe we should mobe in together or something." He said jokingly. Okay, half jokingly if he was honest. It couldn't be that different than living in a dorm room and he was quite used to that, even if it wasn't with Chris.

Christian wasn't sure how long he had kept his mate waiting down on the pitch for him to take notice. He hadn't meant to make him wait and if he had been farther down like he normally was when he was in a game he would have noticed sooner. Now that he was on the ground he missed being in the air immediately but he noticed that Xavior didn't have a broom, heck he wasn't even sure if he knew how to fly, so they couldn't talk in the air. He fixed the boy with a look of confusion when he said it would be sad to see them parting ways. "Parting ways? What are you talking about you're not leaving France are you? As long as you are in the country you haven't seen the last of me mister." He said with a smirk.

After school Christian knew he was going to move out of his dad's house asap and buy a place of his own, whether that be a flat or full house, for himself. He had never considered living with anyone else though but when Xavior said something about the moving in together he surprisingly like the idea of not being alone in his hoe anymore. "I don't know I can be a right pain in the arse at home." He said jokingly. He liked the idea but he didn't want Xavior to say this just because he was upset about leaving and then regret it if it happened. "Hey wanna fly with me?" He asked with a smirk and nodding his head towards the back of his broom.

"Oh um I don't know about that. I don't particularly like flying." It wasn't like there had been any sort of specific event that brought about his aversion to brooms, Xavior had always just been skittish of flying. He knew it was ridiculous, a wizard not flying as a child was a bit like a muggle child not learning to ride a bike- strange, but not unheard of. He was mostly afraid of the falling that was inevitable after riding on a thin stick of wood high above the ground. Actually, he was more afraid of what came after the fall: broken bones and bleeding.
"It's not very safe, is it? I mean I could fall off."

Christian hadn't even known about magic and flying until he moved to France and lived with his father, but the man had a nice big back yard with quidditch goals and no muggles around. For a child constantly trying to find ways to entertain himself while his father worked all hours of the day he learned to fly quickly. For a days on end the boy taught himself to fly and play the game of quidditch to the point where he was as passionate about it as he was now. Anybody that knew Christian at all knew that he was an excellent flyer and a superb quidditch player so he would be lying if he said he wasn't a bit offended when Xavior seemed scared to fly with him. "Don't be silly you'll be flying with me and I wouldn't let you fall. As long as you're holding on you'll be safer than any plane rider." He said with a smile. "You're gonna have to trust me a bit more than this if you wanna move in together one day, or if you ever wanna see the grounds from the top of the stadium." He told his mate with a small wink.

"Err I think I like my current view of the grounds... but I guess, since it's you, I'll do it. Justo don't try to show off or something stupid, okay? It'll be okay." He said the last part mostly to himself. He was only trembling slightly as climbed on the back of Chris' broom, which was quite an accomplishment. It wasn't that he didn't believe in his friend's flying abilities -Chris was the best quidditch player he knew- it was that he didn't trust the act of flying itself. He took a deep breath, closed his eyes tightly, and wrapped his arms in a strangle hold around Chris' waist.

Christian could tell that his mate had absolutely no interest in leaving the ground, which sure would explain why it was so rare to find the teen near the qudditch pitch expect in the stands during games. He was willing to bet the poor guy hadn't been on a broom in a very long time. He gasped as if to fake offense. "Show of? Do something stupid? I would never do something like that." He said with a smirk. He knew he had won finally and smiled as his mate shakily joined him on the broom. He wasn't any less afraid to do so though which was obvious enough he gripped Christian's waist as if he was going to die. "You know it's kind of hard to fly when you've got that death grip." He said with a tone of amusement.

With that he kicked off the ground. He wasn't going to tell Xavior this but this was the first time he had flown with someone else on the broom, but he quickly found it to be just as easy as ever. He started off making low circles around the perimeter of the stadium until Xavior seemed to calm down and then he started going higher and higher.

It was a strange feeling, flying. And by strange he meant absolutely terrifying.
"This is mental!" He shouted as the wind got stronger and stronger and his voice was carried away from him. He grasped the hem of Christian's shirt in his fists and dug his nails into his palms, trying to distract himself from the quickly receding ground. He tucked his face into Chris' shoulder to stop the wind from stinging his eyes. Why did he ever agree to this? His stomach had been left somewhere near the goalpost and he wasn't sure if he wanted it back because it would most definately be rolling.

If Christian landed and still had his uniform in one piece he was going to be lucky for his mate was currently trying to test how far one could pull the silky cloth before it ripped. He simply didn't understand why he was so afraid he had never been scared of flying even his first time when he was teaching himself the art. He decided that Xavior was never going to get used to it so he might as well stop wasting time with the slow work up to the higher parts. He laughed happily when the teen buried his face into Christian's shoulder. He then pulled up and took a steep flight upwards, he was sure Xavior was going to love that nice climb. "Don't let go now." He said with a chuckle. The teen had successfully killed all conversation of graduation and having to grow up.

"Does it look like I was planning on letting go?!" Xavior screamed as they made a steep climb upwards. He would've claimed that he wasn't stupid but then again he was riding way too many meters in the air on a piece of wood being piloted by a teenager. He could make no claim on his intelligence at that point. He almost felt bad though, for noticing how warm and strong Chris felt in his arms, considering that Chris had a girlfriend, but it did feel nice. He wondered if Chris would part ways with Linette once they graduated or if it was really serious. He kind of doubted that though. Chris definately wasn't the settle down right after school type.

Christian laughed loudly at Xavior's assurance that he was not going to let go, but of course he already knew that. After his steep and sudden rise upwards the teen stopped and slowly flew at the leave. Up there you could see all of the grounds and the Cerisier thought it was a calming site, though he was sure his mate would disagree. "Pretty cool, eh?" He asked looked back slightly to see Xavior's face. "You're not dead yet, do you trust me yet?" He asked with a smirk. It was a wonder they hadn't done this before, Christian shouldn't made his mate come out for a flight before. Now he wasn't sure how much more he was going to see of his mate and that made this fun flight seem a little bitter sweet to the teen.

"Yeah, yeah, I trust you. So when are we going down? I kind of miss the ground, you know, very stable and hard and unforgiving when you hit it from great heights. It's a fickle thing. But I still love it." Xavior rambled on. He was flattered that Chris would bring him up with him, but he was ready for the adventure end, if he even wanted it to begin in the first place. If anything, the flight just affirmed his hatred of flying, but he still appreciated the effort on Chris' part. But it did seem like a good idea to get down before they got hurt.
