Unfogging the Future Empty Unfogging the Future

Paige had been so excited to start taking the electives last year she had spent lots of time thinking about what classes were best for her. Arithmancy being math she decided that was definitely not for her and she didn't really care about a class all about muggles, it was probably as interesting as the class all about wizard history. That narrowed it down easily and Paige had found out last year that her favorite was Divinations, it was cool to attempt to learn how to see the future. The young beater had even found that she was fairly good at it most of the time, as opposed to many others who struggled to come up with any answer at all.

Today when they walked into the classroom of many cute round tables there was a light fog all over the room. Professor Lemuix came out from her office mysteriously moving through the fog to the front of the room. "Today we shall be unfogging the future." After she said this the fog in the room slowly receded until the room was clear again, and they could all now see the shelves full of crystal balls. "Everyone please pick a partner and get one ball per pair and choose a table." She said with a smile. this looked like it was the professors favorite lesson. Paige looked around the room for someone to pair up with and smiled when she spotted the boy with blue hair a table over. "Hey Quentin wanna partner up?" She asked cheerfully.

When it came to classes, Quinn wasn't good at many. This was mostly because of the lack of enthusiasm he possessed with most subjects. He thought having new electives would mean he'd finally find a class that he was semi good at and he was correct. He had chosen three of the blow off sounding classes and so far, they all seemed pretty easy. Divination being by far, the easiest. Whenever he didn't know the answer, he made something up. Professor Lemuix always ate up his extraneous predictions.

However, that day he wished he was actually good at Divinations for real. When the professor gave them instructions to partner up, Paige Bellerose asked him to be partners. Of all people! He knew how much she liked the class, seeing her enthusiasm in it every time they had it, and didn't want to mess up in front of her and have her think he was some sort of idiot. He had Marie-Laure for that.

"Sure," He replied, trying to share the enthusiasm. He really liked Paige and was glad she wanted to be partners. He just hoped he wouldn't muck anything up. "Let me get the crystal ball," He quickly offered and rose from his seat before she could protest.

Paige smiled brightly when Quinn agreed to be her partner. She could have found someone else if he had said no bu she really liked Quinn he was so nice and she really wanted to work with him today. If he had said he didn't want to be her partner she would have been fairly upset but would have understood and found someone else. Before she could say anything he offered to get the ball and was off. She giggled at how enthusiastic he was about starting to lesson, she new she had picked the right partner. While he was off towards the now crowded shelves to get a crystal ball Paige decided to find them a table to sit at.

She started to head towards her favorite purple clothed table directly in the middle of the front row. But on her way over she spotted a pretty blue one in the front row all the way at the end. She decided to go sit there instead, it was still in the front just on the left a lot more than she was used to. She took a seat and smoothed out the blue while she waited. "Isn't this the prettiest thing you've ever seen?" She asked with a bright smile when Quinn came over finally. She knew he liked blue so for the she would let someone else occupy her purple one for him.

Quentin tripped slightly on his way over towards the cabinets where the crystal balls were, but he caught himself and, looking behind him, it didn't appear to him that Paige saw. He chose a crystal ball that didn't look too worn and then searched for where his partner had gone off to, among the rows of clothed tables. He spotted her at a pretty blue one and grinned as he made his way over.

First he settled the crystal ball on it's stand in the middle of the table, wanting to get that out of the way in case his feet decided to trip him again and he accidentally dropped it. He didn't want to upset the professor, let alone make a fool of himself in front of Paige like that. He grinned at her comment. "I quite agree! Blue is my favorite color!" He noted, and then took a seat across from her.

He wanted to talk to her more, but then Professor Lemiux started the lesson, explaining the functions of a crystal ball and something about how it actually worked. Quentin paid attention as much as he ever, which was basically not at all, and only woke up from his daze when the Professor let them go to do their predictions and the room moved into motion again.

"Errm, do you want me to go first, or you?" Quinn asked, straightening up in his chair.
