Cerisier vs Montgnard: Round III Empty Cerisier vs Montgnard: Round III

Post by Professor Bowen Tue Aug 13, 2013 12:41 am

Although the sky was a bit overcast, Professor Bowen was in the brightest of moods. Quidditch had been a life-long passion of hers and with each new year she coached the Quidditch teams at Beauxbatons came new stories to tell with Quidditch games. Both the Cerisier and Montagnard teams were never quite the same each year, as old players moved out and graduated and new players came in, bringing with them their own unique style and personality, making the last game interesting to watch the seventh years react to their last game.  She trusted that all players, whether old or new, had spent an ample amount of time practicing for this game so they end the year on a positive note. This game was particularly interesting since both team had one win to their name and whoever won this game would receive the cup. Unbiased to who she wanted to win, Professor Bowen just wanted to see each team put their best foot forward.

As players filed out from the changing rooms, geared and ready to go, Bowen gave them a smile hello and then got down to business. "Final game everyone!" She cheered, looking upon some nervous faces, some overly confident faces. "It is a little overcast but a little rain has never hurt anyone before." She paused to give another look into the eyes of the team players.  "I want all of you to give it your all. This is the last game and you are tied so this one is for the cup, no pressure. Unlike last year since we are unsure of the winners this time the cup will be handed over at the end and the team will be honored afterwards."

Mounting her broom, she took off to the sky, expecting the teams to follow suit. When the two teams found themselves in the orderly patterned circle, she raised her whistle to her mouth and blew it, simultaneously releasing the quaffle into the air.

Cerisier vs Montgnard: Round III Empty Re: Cerisier vs Montgnard: Round III

No instruction given to her? Linette felt rather gleeful over that. It meant that Professor Bowen thought she did a good job last time even if she did forget to announce the final score. The fault for that lay at the feet of whoever threw the quaffle at Louise's broom. Linette may have not wanted her sister to go to Beauxbatons with her but it didn't mean she didn't care whether or not she got hurt.

The Announcer glanced up at the sky in all its overcastness as she took her place in the announcing booth. Things could get interesting if it actually rained. The weather though was not what was really on her mind. It was her announcing and the teams. "Rain stay away. We've got a game to play. Hello teams and spectators out there. Who do you think will win the cup? After the last game with some odd form of cheating going on Montagnard could win almost as easily as Cerisier." Linette sincerely did believe some cheating had happened. After all if Louise's broom hadn't been hit by a quaffle she would not have gone down and unable to catch the snitch. Linette never saw who did it. There'd been too much action going on but she was sure it had to be one of those Montagnard chasers. Maybe the new one? She looked like she'd be capable of such a devious act.

Cerisier vs Montgnard: Round III Empty Re: Cerisier vs Montgnard: Round III

The day called for a slight chance of rain but that didn't effect the smile on Payton's face. This game could be anyone's and Payton had a good feeling since their win. When they won last game, Osmund had smiled and even laughed. Which Payton found kind of creepy. But it would be nice if he smiled again if they won this game.

It was the final game of the year and it meant that school and Quidditch would be ending soon. Which was both a good and bad thing. Payton would miss his friends, school, and Quidditch. But he would not let that effect his playing.

Once the balls were released, Payton wasted no time. He was in the air and flying around. "Go team!" He always made sure to say words of encouragement to his team. "We can win!" The game had just begun and it seemed that Cerisier was still upset about Montagnard's win. But Montagnard was ready and was in it to win it. The first score was made by Cerisier, which made Payton groan. "Come on team! Lets do this!"

Cerisier vs Montgnard: Round III Empty Re: Cerisier vs Montgnard: Round III

Post by Osmund Hollow Wed Aug 14, 2013 6:24 pm

The bleak color of the sky foretold a rain shower to come soon, but Osmund wasn't bothered. They were Quidditch players and if his team couldn't handle a little bit of rain, they weren't even worth his time. "Don't let a little water bother you," He said to his team, before kicking off. He made the almost kind sounding words sound all the more harsh by hinting towards the idea that any of them would not be forgiven if they used the rain as an excuse to play poorly. They needed to win that cup, no matter what.

Shortly after the quaffle was thrown up, rain started to fall from the sky, quite dispersed and more of a sprinkle. Osmund hardly noticed it against his face as he flew, chasing after bludgers to knock away the quaffle, which was being dictated by the Cerisier chasers. Damn them, he thought to himself as he heard the goal ring out that Cerisier had scored. He heard Johnson still yelling words of encouragement, even though they had lost the first goal of the game. Osmund rolled his eyes. It seemed to him that everyone else on the team was giving themselves so much support, they didn't need him to do so as well. He was probably doing them a favor to keep their heads from getting too big by yelling at them all the time.

"Wake up, Montoya! You could've saved that one!" He yelled, and went back to bludger whacking. He knocked one towards one of the Cerisier beaters when they weren't paying attention because he could. He cringed as he heard the goal post ring out again and it wasn't for his own team. "Damnit Montoya!" He cursed beneath his breath.

Cerisier vs Montgnard: Round III Empty Re: Cerisier vs Montgnard: Round III

Post by Guest Wed Aug 14, 2013 9:46 pm

Marie-Laure glanced up at the overcast sky and shrugged.  If that's the way it was going to be it was the way it was going to be.  There was no point wasting energy in complaining about it.  She'd much rather concentrate on scoring as many goals as she could.  She was small and she was quick.  The keeper was easy to get past and she could dodge bludgers with the greatest of ease.

As always, Cerisier scored the first goal. They were really going to have to work on changing that trend.  Marie-Laure glanced at the other two chasers on the team.  What did they think of her performance?  If they blamed her for Cerisier getting in first she would give them a true evaluation of the situation.  That is, there were three chasers on the team none of whom scored before one of the Cerisier chasers.  Not her fault alone at all.

A second goal to Cerisier fired up Marie-Laure more than ever and she was now on the attack.  Seeing the quaffle leave the hands of a Cerisier chaser she flew in and took it before the other could catch.  One goal to Montagnard.  It wasn't enough to satisfy but at least they had something more than zero on the board.  Besides Johnson was the one they really needed to do something to make sure they win.  All she had to do was make sure Cerisier didn't out score Montagnard by more than 150 points.  It would be even better if they finally outscored Cerisier before the capture of the snitch for once.

It was true that Annaliese wasn't exactly the most awake. She had a felt a little guilty about what had happened the last game. No one had seen the deed that had happened. She could feel her conscious eating away at her. She looked up and saw the score. Cerisier was ten points ahead and it was her fault. She had to get her head back in the game, but the chasers were giving her Hell. She'd block one shot and then she'd be stormed by another. She could feel the heat rising in her veins. They Montagnard's had to show the stupid Cerisier's who was boss. She blocked the shot that was given by Christian, only to be bombarded by another from the other D'Angelo. She Saw the score change yet again and she gnashed her teeth. Cersier was ahead still, but Montagnard was right behind them. "Come on Chasers." She yelled as encouragement.

"And here we are again with Cerisier scoring the first goal of the match. It looks like Montagnard is yet again following them on the scores. Last time they actually managed to score enough goals to be equal with Cerisier. Even to be ahead of them at one point. Surprised?" She paused in her monologue and nodded. "So was I. Of course this time around Louise will manage to stay on her broom and thus catch the snitch. That's my prediction. LOUISE MAKE SURE NO-ONE HITS YOU THIS TIME." Linette refrained from threats for once. Her sister would do what was right and not make her panic like she had last match.

"Osmund's true to form with his berating of his keeper after Cerisier scores a second time. OSMUND YOU EVER THOUGHT THAT PERHAPS SHE MIGHT PERFORM BETTER IF YOU DIDN'T BERATE HER ALL THE TIME." Linette thought the answer was likely no but there could always be a first time. If he could get a unicorn to eat a carrot out of his hand after a lot of effort he could be more encouraging to his team.

"And there we have it. Motagnard finally has a goal up. Took you long enough Sylvian and the other two chasers whose names have slipped my mind." She shook her head at the pattern of the goal scoring. "Montagnard is back to form. That is following Cerisier in goal scoring. MONTOYA SOUNDS LIKE YOU NEED MORE SLEEP. Maybe they need some sort of alarm on the pitch to wake up the keepers ever five seconds."

Cerisier vs Montgnard: Round III Empty Re: Cerisier vs Montgnard: Round III

Post by Quentin D'Angelo Thu Aug 15, 2013 12:48 pm

Quentin felt guilty about his actions during their last game. He was still trying to get over this awe that he was actually playing quidditch on a real team for once and had found himself quite distracted by that fact last game. He had been overconfident, after winning the first game of the year, and let his mind wander, thinking everything would turn out okay. But after they lost and seeing how upset Christian was, Quentin didn't ever want to let that happen again. He hated seeing his beloved cousin upset like that and really wanted to hug him and make him feel better, but he knew from experience that hugs didn't make Christian feel better. In fact, they did quite the contrary.

"I won't let you down again, Captain!" He promised before taking off. He nearly battled to get to the quaffle first and volleyed it around with his fellow chasers before sending it through the hoop. How was that for a comeback!

Him and the other Cerisier chasers worked their way up to 40 points, just one goal ahead of Montagnard. "Somehow I don't think this will do..." He managed to get the quaffle from a Montagnard chaser and then quickly flew over and scored again. He smiled to himself as he thought that was better. "Keep up the good work, Montoya!" He said with a laugh and a wink, to the blonde keeper who always let him scored.

Cerisier vs Montgnard: Round III Empty Re: Cerisier vs Montgnard: Round III

Christian hated the way the last game went, actually that was an understatement, after the last game he had never felt so upset ever. Having little to no friends his entire life, his father being the worst parent ever didn't upset him as much as that lose did, the closest thing to that feeling was when his mum died. Yes it was that serious for him, though perhaps it was only that bad because the previous year it was all too easy for his team to win all three games. He knew it was probably wrong to do so, but because it was only this year they started losing he was blaming it on all the ickles of this year. If they joined the team this year he assumed it was their fault since his team last year had been so good, he actually made those new comers stay a half hour longer after every practice since then. Today he felt confident about his teams abilities, he had personally trained most of them now. "Let's go guys, this isn't practice anymore!" He called to his team as they walked to the pitch.

As soon as the balls were released they were in the air. His little cousin was super aggressive today and quickly got the wuaffle first and without anyone's help of passing and what not he took it straight to the goal alone. Christian smiled proudly at him, "You go Quinn keep that up!" He called over to his cousin with a broad smile before taking the quaffle himself and scoring right after him. Things started to play out much like they always seem to do with Montagnard almost matching them in goals every time, only one goal behind their measly fifty. That simply would not do, Christian was not going to let the fate of the game ride only on the seeker, he wanted to score 150 more than Montagnard and take matters into his own hands. Between him and his cousin, with a little help from the third chaser, Cerisier score two more goals back to back pulling their score ahead more.

Not berate? Marie-Laure looked up at the announcer booth and wondered what business it was of the announcer to tell Osmund Hollow how to captain his team. She shook her head at the stupidity of it all. Besides there were more important things to think about; like concentrating on getting her hands on that quaffle and scoring more points.

The chaser moved in and caught the quaffle thrown to her from a teammate. Score. Closer but not close enough. Of course the goal would then be followed by a goal from the other team. "MONTOYA," she shouted, "IF YOU WANT US TO SCORE MORE YOU ALSO HAVE TO STOP THEM FROM SCORING MORE ALSO." Why on earth did the keeper expect the chasers to do all the work? It worked two ways.

She shook her head and moved off to attempt to intercept the quaffle again. They needed to get ahead. Even better would be if the seeker caught the snitch.

The team needed to wake up, well not the whole team. It seemed like a few players weren't giving their all. "Come on team!" He believed that they could win, if people trie. Some people were, but that wasn't enough. Payton sighed when Montagnard tried to score, but had failed. "Try taking some people out again! We could score more!" It seemed like a pretty good plan, it would help them score more.

After the win of last game, Payton made sure that Louise knew he had caught the snitch. "We're gonna win," he bragged to Louise. "I'm gonna catch the snitch." After she had fallen last game, Payton had checked on her to see if she was alright. But now she was all better and Payton wasn't going to go easy on her.

Montagnard scored once more but Cerisier was right after then, scoring for their team as well. "Come on team!" If they won the cup, that would be amazing. That would be a great end to a great year. Things seemed to get more difficukt once the rain began to pour down more. "Be careful!" Payton warned, telling his team to watch out for the pouring rain.

The rain was really starting to come down then and even some lightening started to strike. He was hoping that his teammates were a bit more thick-skinned than to let that bother them, though he could see how intimidating it could be to be flying so high with electricity in the air. Though he wasn't going to let any of the team know that he was slightly worried.

He rolled his eyes as Linette practically told him to shut up and leave Annaliese alone. He wasn't going to because first of all, he still wasn't okay with her calling him out in the first place in the beginning of the year, even though she had practically taken it back before the game, but that was another matter. He didn't want her to think that anything was different between them now because of the deed he had done before the game. In fact, he was perhaps acting even nastier because he wanted her to back off and forget about him. That should have never happened.

He slung a bludger at one of the chasers, following Johnson's advice and trying to help out Sylvian and the other chasers. He smirked to himself as he couldn't help but think with all of this positive reinforcement from the young seeker, he was sounding like their personal cheerleader or something.

Louise couldn't take the contininug criticism from her sister over the intercom. I was getting to her head and was causing her to loose focus. She was racing against Johnson for the snitch. After what Christian had told her about the game and their winning streak. She was determined that the snitch would be hers and they would celebrate....she could only imagine the penalties if she didn't catch it. But from what she saw from the other captain it would've been just as bad for Johnson to loose the snitch. Sighing she pressed on and tried to make her way through the challenges that were placed in front of her. She sighed and tried to weave her way through the pillars, but seemed to always be one step behind him. "Come on Louise...." She spoke to herself. "You've got to win this."

Annaliese glared at Linette. Someone needed to throw a quaffle or bludger at the girl. She could do nothing about the girl except endure her constant talking. This was the final game, and Montagnard would take the cup. She'd ensure it. Glancing at the beaters, Annaliese felt the little trickle of something play across her lips. Perhaps it was still the feeling of what had happened prior to the game. She sadly smiled a little and looked up at the game. The score was almost even. She'd block the rest of the shots. She had to. As the quaffles came towards her she threw out her arms and knocked the out of the way. One! Two! Three! The shots ricocheted away from the goals and her. She smiled and looked to see the score. The chasers had made the score only ten points behind Cersier and her blocking the shots had helped. She had to continue to block the shots. She smirked. "Bring it on, Cerisier!" She called out cockily!

The games was close. Montagnard wasn't far behind, only ten points away. "Coke on team!" Payton cheered. "Lets do it!" He scanned the pitch for the snitch, which was hard to find in the rain. His eyes darted around, he was getting desperate now. He had to get the snitch. The game needed to win befote the lightning got worse. For the safety of everyone. He didn't want anyone to get hurt.

The game was now 100-70 when Payton caught sight of the snittch. He zoomed past Louise, making a grab for the snitch. His hand wrapped around the metal ball. He caught it! They won once again! This meant they won the cup. He flew down to the ground, cheering that they had won. "WE WON!" He would have to tell his family all about how he helped win the Quidditch game. When his feet were back on the ground, he handed the snitch to Professor Bowen. He ran back over to his team, careful not to slip."We won!"

Louise had the snitch in sight as she continued to fly through the pitch. She started to near it and felt it almost at her finger tips. "I've got it!!!" She cried out as it touched her fingers. But then suddenly, it left her hand and flew down. Within a second she saw was seeing Johnson zoom past her. "Hey!!!" She cried out. "NO!" She kept trying to get to him, but then she heard the word of her defeat. "No...." She shook her head. She could hear the screams of Payton yelling 'We won!!!!' She flew down to the ground of the pitch. Cerisier had lost. It was her fault and she was in for a mouthful.....

Charon sat on his broom in shock. They lost. They actually lost. He could see Louise upset on the ground. He wanted to fly to her side, but decided he should congratulate Paige first. He flew toward his blonde haired best friend and extended his hand. "Good job Paige." He said with a small smile. Even if everyone on her team either gave him the creeps or scared him she was still his closest friend and she'd won fair and square. He'd rather lose to Paige than to someone he didn't know. His dad would probably be equally as upset Cerisier didn't win, but there was always next time.

Paige had been so happy when her team had won their first game last time, but she had felt really bad about hurting her best friend so much in the process. However that didn't mean she was going to get arrogant this game and let herself slip up. This game was for the cup and that means it is time for business. If Montagnard won the cup this year, her first year on the team, she would feel on top of the world. If they didn't she wasn't sure what she'd do.

The day started out looking alright or the game but shortly after everything started it began to rain. The rain only got heavier and heavier making it hard to see. When she went to hit a bludger she realized too late that she aimed it at one of her teammates. However she learned it was just the rain messing with her vision and the person the ball was flying at was actually her best friend....again. Thankfully it missed, she didn't want to have to go through that again. As soon as that incident was over the whistle blew and the game was over. She looked around to see who had the snitch and almost jumped off her broom when she saw Johnson with it. "Thanks Char." She said when her friend came to congratulate her.

He smiled at her softly. "I'm glad you were an opponent or losing would have sucked even worse." He chuckled softly. "Well, I'll leave you to go prepare for your impending celebrations." He flew off to make sure Louise was okay, it wasn't her fault, not completely. You win as a team or you lose as a team, one player doesn't make or break you. He decided in his head. Besides they were only first years, with some more training they had the potential to be good, great even. "It wasn't your fault, Lucy." He said gently, giving her a reassuring hug.

"Young D'Angelo is on fire with his goal scoring. Cerisier is 20 points ahead of Montagnard. Great chasing team right there everyone. Old D'Angelo is keeping up his hard work with scoring goals as well. Montagnard is really trailing dismally. Woah. Sounds like Sylvian and Montoya are having it out over who's supposed to be keeping the goal gap from increasing. No wonder those Montagnards are having so much trouble. They haven't heard of teamwork." Linette tutted into the microphone.

The announcer jumped at the rumble of thunder. "Those seekers had better get a move on before someone is struck by lightening. I wouldn't want to play out in that lot. The scores are now at eighty to Cerisier and sixty to Montagnard. Scores are going up on Cerisier's side. 100 to them and 70 to the other crowd. No surprises there. Wait a minute. it looks like there's a race to the snitch." She leaned forward in her excitement. "And Montagnard has managed to do it again. This time without the cheating. This year Montagnard wins the cup with 220 points to Cerisier's 100. Bad luck on that Cerisier. Christian if you keep Louise out too late with practice next year I might do something I'll regret."

Post by Quentin D'Angelo Sun Aug 18, 2013 2:24 pm

Quentin had put his best foot forward and really tried to stay focused this game. He wanted to be someone who Christian would be proud to call his cousin, not that he thought Christian was ever ashamed of him. He just didn't want to see the older boy get all bummed out last time. Chris got pretty scary when he was upset, especially when it came to Quidditch, and Quentin never knew how to cheer him up. He was going to need to learn how to fast when he heard shouting from the other side of the pitch, and saw a player dressed in Montagnard colors yelling "We won!!" over and over again like some sort of chant. Quinn's stomach dropped. That could only mean they lost.

The other Puchard, the one with the microphone who was allowed to talk throughout the whole match, confirmed their lost. Quinn really had hoped to have brought home the cup for his first game playing Quidditch, but he was even more bummed for Christian. "Hey! Look how many goals we made!" Quentin said to Christian, trying to be positive. "A lot more than those dumb Montagnard chaser's did!" He put a hand on Christian's shoulder and smiled at him. He loved his cousin no matter what.

When Paige had started out her school year at Beauxbatons she didn't think she was going to be joining her houses quidditch team, let alone win the quidditch house cup with them. She had to admit it felt wonderful and she was just so happy to be able to say that she was a part of something this great. The whole team had worked theirs butts off for this win and they really deserved it no matter what the other team might think. Today they would be returning to their house finally making Montagnard proud, and she was looking forward to the party she heard the winning team threw in the common room. She didn't want it so much for her as she wanted to see if they had made everyone else just as proud to be called Montagnards after this. She smiled at her friend and thanked him for his words before following her team off the field to the changing room, all of them looking happy as could be.

Christian had never seen his team work harder than they did today, everyone was working in over time. Quinn, him and the third chaser were flying in more loops than they have all year. Winthrop was blocking as many goals as he seemed capable of with his small size. The beaters were combating the bludgers as best they could and the little Puchard was trying her hardest to get the snitch and almost did. However Cerisier still lost when the seeker from Montagnard caught the snitch. Of course he was equally as upset as he had been the last time they lose but this time he had witnessed how hard his team had been working and he really couldn't fault them on this, it all came down to the blasted snitch in the end it seemed. Christian shot a look up to the announcer's box on his way by though when Linette decided to call him out specifically to protect the sister he wasn't even considering punishing. He liked Linette in all but that could change if she continued to call him out over the speaker like that, making him look like the worse captain now.

When his little cousin came over and started giving him positive thoughts on the game Christian simply grinned. "Yeah kid we were kicking butt out there." He told the boy before slinging his arm over his shoulder and ruffling his hair some. "We'll get 'em next time eh?" He asked confidently. There really wasn't anyway he could be mad at these youngsters this time, though he was still highly upset at the lose, it really wasn't their fault though. They had played the game to the best of the abilities and they were doing amazing, it was that snitch that killed them. He would have to work on getting the other seeker of the way next year.

Montagnard: 220
Cerisier: 100
