Sound of Music

Before Beauxbatons, piano and viola had practically been her life. Now, with the duties of second year homework and Quidditch captain, they had become marginalized. She still managed to practice viola sometimes in her dorm, but her roommate didn't always appreciate it. Besides, she'd somewhat lost inspiration and will to play. Her piano practicing, on the other hand, was virtually nonexistent. It wasn't as if she could put a piano in her room. So after finishing all the important things on her agenda, she stopped by the Melodic Studies room and sat down at its dusty piano. 

She closed her eyes. It had been a long time since she'd practiced her last piece. Yet when her fingers played the opening notes, they seemed to carry her through the rest of the piece. When her mind wasn't sure what they were doing, her fingers danced almost effortlessly throughout the keys. It was a marvel she couldn't completely understand. And maybe that was okay. For a few minutes her mind seemed completely engulfed by a stream of notes. That was when she realized someone was standing behind her. "Oh, you can play if you'd like," she said quickly, breaking off mid-key. She had likely overextended her time anyway.
