Maybe meeting up in the Muggle Studies classroom after curfew wasn't such a good idea considering there were tons of professors on watch duty since the threat from the Fee. The threats didn't scare maybe, they were just threats after all. Nothing more. It just made sneaking around more difficult. Since there were professors roaming around, Mabel couldn't use her wand to light the way so she had to be extra careful not to fall or make too much noise. Meeting Fane had been her plan and if she didn't show he might think she stood him up. The classroom door only seemed inches away when she heard a noise. She froze and looked around, nothing out of the ordinary. She let out a sigh before continuing into the classroom.

She grinned when she saw Fane was already there waiting for her. "Hey," she said softly after shitting the door. "There's so many professors out tonight." Before she could take a step, the door handle began to turn. It didn't open though, but there was a click then foot steps walking away. She grabbed the handle and tried to turn it, but it was locked. "Fuck," she muttered.

She turned to Fane and pulled at her braid. "So, looks like we're stuck in here." She laughed awkwardly. "Funny story to tell the folks, huh?" Normally she would be panicking but that wouldn't help in this situation.

Fane wasn't sure why Mabel had invited him out past curfew, but he had a few ideas in his mind that inspired him to agree. Besides, if he declined, she'd call him a wimp and a wimp he was not. The Professors didn't scare him and even though a lot were out for the protection against the Fee, Fane managed to sneak past them. It paid off to be as short and stealthy as he was.

He arrived in the classroom far before Mabel had and sat on a desk while he waited for her. As the time passed, he started to get doubtful and annoyed. He could be sleeping right now and she decided to play this horrible trick on him! However, the door suddenly opened and Fane's heart skipped a beat before he saw it was only Mabel. "I thought you weren't going to show," he admitted, but, realizing he sounded pathetic, he quickly added. "So why did you call me here?" He reclined on the desk slightly in some sort of sexy pose that clearly didn't work, for she was trying to open up the door.

He hopped off of the desk and moved towards the door, giving it a try himself before determining that it was indeed locked. "Pity. What ever shall we do alone in a classroom all night?" He asked with a smirk, moving closer to her. He was hoping for at least some snogging before they decided to either figure a way out of there or curl up together for the night.

She didn't pay much attention to the older boy, she was too busy trying to get the door to budge. If they got caught, this was sure to go back to their parents. If her parents found out that she was alone with a boy at night, they'd have her head. She wouldn't be able to do anything and would be grounded for life. She pulled at the door again once Fane was finished trying. "It needs to open! I can't be stuck in here with you!"

She bit her tongue before turning towards Fane. "That sounded harsh, I just meant that we can't get caught in here." She kicked the door before crossing her arms and taking a seat in front of the door. "You can't get into anymore trouble, remember? If we're caught, we're gonna get in trouble. Tons of trouble."

She leaned her head against the door and let out a sigh. "If we get caught, might as well kiss me goodbye. My parents will kill me. Or worse, transfer me." She had never let anyone see her vulnerable besides Fane and he usually took it very well since she had seen his weak side before.

Fane leaned on the wall next to the door and was about to move in for a kiss, when Mabel snapped at him. His lips tugged into a frown and he took a step back. "Sorry, I didn't know I was such a horrible person to be around," He spoke, taken aback. If it was anyone but Mabel who have said that, he wouldn't have cared. But he thought that he was close enough to Mabel to actually be cared about.

He sighed and took a seat next to her as she explained herself. The explanation did help a bit, but he was rather bummed out that it meant they weren't going to make out. "Yeah, I guess," he replied, melancholic like. He hated school and rules, yet her point was quite valid. He already had the threat of expulsion from school and didn't want Mabel to go through the same. He already lost his friend Gus due to him transferring. He didn't want to lose Mabel as well.

"Well, we're not gonna figure a way out by sitting here," he stated and then stood up, offering a helping hand up to Mabel. He ambled towards the window and looked down. "Damn, Seventh floor." There was no way they could just climb out the window. "So it has to be through the door. Maybe we can pry it open with something?" They were in a muggle studies classroom with hardly anything but books. "Too bad we didn't get stuck in potions. We could've shrunk the door or something." He offered.

She sighed and bit her bottom lip. "I know I'm mean to you, but I don't think you're horrible to be around." Mabel was never really good with her words and usually things came out wrong. When showing emotions, things usually messed up or were taken the wrong way. "My parents already hate the fact that my two best friends are guys," she felt the need to further explain herself. "It doesn't help that my sisters have big mouths that love to tell my parents about all the things I've done." Siblings were such a pain, they always had their noses were they didn't belong.

"I'm good at getting into rooms, but I guess I'm not so good at getting out of them." She grabbed the boys offered hand and stood up. "I didn't know we were going to get stuck in here or else we would have met in a useful classroom." The reason for meeting in this room was because no one would think to look into the boring classroom for students, they hardly liked going in there for class.

She tried the door once more, she was getting desperate now. "What's the chance that a student will pass by that isn't going to get us in trouble?" She turned back towards her friend. "I don't want to transfer." She frowned, she was growing upset. No way could she cry in front of him though, no one saw Mabel cry.

Fane was still a bit hurt by Mabel's comment but tried to play it cool. "Yeah I guess I would be a bit suspicious if my daughter were hanging around a boy as hot as me," He replied with moderate humor. He supposed that the sooner they got out of there, the better.

Her reasoning for why this specific classroom was pretty sound, he had to admit, though he still didn't understand one thing. "And why did we have to meet up at the ass-crack of dawn?" He questioned, tossing aside a stack of student papers, all on muggle objects. Why anyone would ever take this class, Fane hadn't the slightest clue. "You couldn't wait until tomorrow to see me again?" He added, cockily. He was about ready to quit and make use of their time together by practicing snogging or to at least cuddle with each other, but she seemed persistent.

"You'll probably attract a professor before a student, I bet," Fane replied, indifferently looking through the shelves in order to find something of use. Books, books, and more books. His eyes met Mabel's as he heard the anxiety in her voice. He had never seen Mabel look like that before, so defenseless and scared. It took him completely off guard for a good moment before he approached her. "Hey, hey," He started, soothingly. He gently held her by her arms and offered a confident grin. "No one is going to be transferred, alright? I won't let it! I've got connections," Fane told her in attempt to comfort her. It was true that his family was loaded, but he doubted he could get his parents to bribe the school into refusing the transfer of a student, or to bribe them into not expelling him. However, Mabel didn't need to know that. He dropped his hands to take Mabel's hand in his own and gave them a squeeze. "I will blow up this classroom with bombarda before I let you get caught," he promised and he was starting to think that blowing the door off of it's hinges might not be too shabby of an idea.

"Does there have to be a reason to meet?" She paused, okay maybe there had to be a reason since it was so late. "I just wanted to..." What was her reason? She hardly remembered now since they were trapped inside the classroom. "You wish," she rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. "Maybe I just wanted to hang out and talk " She looked at her hands, there was some dirt under her nails that she had the urge to pick at. She stopped herself and looked back up. "Well, we haven't done much talking since the whole Odette thing happened." She never meant to be so honest with him, but she had and she couldn't take it back. "I mean, we've kissed and stuff. But we never talked about it."

"If I attract a professor then we'll be in major trouble." She didn't want to get in trouble, at least not right now. Word would get out about her being alone at night with a boy. It didn't help that the boy was Fane Blevins. "Really?" she sniffed and looked up at the boy. It would be sweet of him to get her out of trouble, she would owe him a lot. "You're my favorite, don't tell Stark." She wrapped her arms around the boy and gave him a gentle squeeze. "You always know what to say." If they did get caught, she would want him to talk his way out of punishment. She planted a kiss on his cheek before putting her head on his shoulder.

Fane rose an eyebrow and gave Mabel a skeptical look. "And we couldn't do that during the daytime? You know how much I like to sleep," He replied, but his laid back personality was hindered with Mabel's next comment. The short boy fell silent for a moment. He absolutely hated that confrontation between Mabel and Odette and himself smack dab in the middle of it all. It made everything awkward between him and his kissing buddies for awhile, which completely negated the whole point of snogging someone for fun and stress relieve. He chewed on his lip piercing for a moment before timidly replying. "What's there to say?" His voice was vacant of emotion. He wanted to say he never cared about Mabel, but that would be a lie. He wouldn't call it 'love' but there was definitely something he felt for Mabel that exceeded his desire to touch her soft breasts.

"Exactly," Fane replied. Calling for help was definitely not an option, though Fane was quickly finding his brain empty of any ideas. However, he didn't want to let Mabel know that, for she was already starting to freak out. Fortunately, his words seemed to have brought her piece and he smiled as she told him he was her favorite and hugged him. "Oh you know I will," He said cheekily as he returned the hug. He pulled away, accepted the kiss, and then pulled out his wand from his trousers. "This might cause some noticeable noise so get ready to run once the door is down," he told Mabel. They'd have to run and do their best to avoid any Professors who heard the clamor that was most definitely going to arise. He aimed his wand and with a flick, uttered the incantation, "Bombarda!"

The door ripped from it's hinges and landed with a loud thud on the ground, stirring up dust in the moonlight. Fane grabbed Mabel's hand with his free one and bolted right out of the classroom. "We'll go to your dorm first," he whispered breathless from running into her ear. That way, she had a better chance of getting away and if he was caught, he'd say he was just trying to visit his girlfriend and she had nothing to do with it at all.

"Nobody would be up your ass at this hour." She didn't have to worry about someone, Odette, butting into their conversation. "I rather talk in private than have people interrupt." She didn't have a problem with anyone besides Odette, she despised her. She was the type of girl that Mabel avoided so she wouldn't get sucked into a drama filled tornado. But she was already in one because of that stupid brat. "You know how some people can love someone and only want to look out for them? I wish I could say that was me, but its not. That's only part of it." It was so hard to explain feelings. How did people do it? How did people find the right words to use? "I guess what I'm saying is that I just want you to be happy and even though I have some feelings for you I don't wanna change anything." She liked what they had and nothing could ruin that. "But, I want to know how you feel. Wanna just ignore my little outburst and pretend it didn't happen?"

"Don't tell Stark," she warned, a small grin played on her lips. "If you tell you'll regret it." She always knew Fane was a bit crazy and destroying school property was crazy. She watched with wide eyes as the door fell to the ground. "You've got to be kidding me, professors are going to swarm like ants!" She had no time to think about the door as Fane took her hand and they began to run. "If you have to you can stay in my dorm, my roommate won't mind too much," she puffed out. "I don't want you to get caught just as much as I don't want to get caught."

She was right about the professors swarming because she heard a lot more than two pairs of feet running. "If we get caught, lie. Number one rule: lie."

After what had happened when Odie had walked in on him and Mable kissing, Fane understood the desire to talk in isolation from someone budging in. He had never expected what to have gone down to have happened, but he was talented at pretending that it never happened. However, now he was cornered in this conversation he dreaded with no distractions. He remained quiet as he calculated what answer was best. "It doesn't matter," He replied, in response to his feelings in question. He wasn't sure how he felt, but if he told her he had feelings for her as well, things would be awkward and most certainly would not go back to the way they were before. If he lied and said he felt nothing at all, he would indubitably offend Mabel and perhaps lose her as a friend.

"I can't promise anything," He said with a wicked grin. Stark most definitely was going to be hearing about this. But his grin only cultivated as he knocked the door down. The rush of adrenaline was absolutely delicious and even better with Mabel there with him. He chuckled as she invited him to stay in her dorm. "You were uneasy about being found in a classroom alone with me yet you're fine with me in your dorm at night? You're a strange one," He noted with a mischievous tone, though knew it would be best for him to dash to his own rather than chance being caught in a girl's dorm. The trouble he'd get in would be sufficiently less if he committed the former.

He heard footsteps echoing in the corridors, and they were not his own or Mabel's. His heart pounded out a chaotic melody as he knew slowing down meant sudden doom. They were nearly there to the Montagnard Dorms when suddenly a figure stepped out in front of them. Fane audibly gasped as he haulted, Mabel's hand still clasped in his own. "We're screwed."

Professor Cox made it his mission to catch anyone that decided they wanted to roam the halls at night. Usually, he came up empty handed. But when he did find the occasional rule breaker, they always wished they hadn't broken the rules. He was just about to give up for the night when he heard a loud thud. Whoever caused that sound probably wasn't very bright. He turned around and began to dash towards the source of the sound.

By the time he got there, whoever caused the door to fall was gone. He glared, destruction of school property. Whoever this was was in deep crap. He ran towards the sound of foot steps and whispers. No one could get away from him. He would find them. Luckily, he knew a short cut that would cut the students off.

Soon, he was right in front of them. "You have some major explaining to do." He crossed his arms and squinted down at the two students. He still recognized them even in the dim lighting. "Destruction of school property, sneaking out after curfew. Want to explain yourselves before you're sent to the office?"

They had been caught, they were so screwed. Maybe they should have just stayed inside the classroom until someone came the next morning. She knew they would be in twice the trouble now since they had destroyed the muggle studies door. And of course one of the meanest teachers had caught them. Why couldn't a nice teacher catch them? Then maybe they could talk their way out of getting kicked out of school. "Well, sir," she began. But she didn't know what to say.

She bit her lip then looked over at Fane then back at the professor. "Sir, we heard a huge thud and we just wanted to check it out. But once we heard footsteps, we decided to leave so we wouldn't get blamed for the mess. Sir, we don't know who knocked the door down, they were gone before we got there. But if we're to be punished then could we only get punished for breaking curfew? I don't want to get blamed for something I didn't do. I think Fane would agree with me." She gave the older boy's hand a squeeze as a sign for him to back her up. "He was only taking me back to my dorm to make sure I was safe, like any good-" She looked down at their hands then back at the professor. "Boyfriend would do. Isn't that right Fane?" She just hoped that the professor bought their lies and that the punishment wasn't too bad.

Fane's mouth went dry as he sized up the Professor in front of him. There was no messing with Professor Cox. The Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher already knew about the shenanigans Fane was prone to getting into and for a long, awful moment, the boy was void of words to talk himself out of the situation. Fortunately, Mabel had his back.

"Erm, right!" Fane replied, after listening to Mabel's explanation of the events that didn't happen. "Mabel was up in the library studying for her History of Magic test and fell asleep. I figured I ought to escort her back to her room because two people are safer than one and ever since that vampire creep broke into school, I've made a habit of watching my own and my, uhh, girlfriend's back," Fane added. His words calculated as they came out. He stumbled on the unfamiliar word 'girlfriend.' The word and Mabel felt odd on his tongue.

"I know we're out past curfew and I understand if you want to make repercussions for it, but we had nothing to with the whole blown up classroom incident. We were simply passing by," Fane continued. "In fact, I think Wendy snatched a couple of Pandora's box explosives from some students and might've decided to test them out tonight in order to cause an uproar," Fane suggested. It felt believable. He just hoped Professor Cox bought it.

Even if they hadn't had anything to do with the Muggle Studies classroom, they were still out after curfew. They would still be in deep crap, they would still be in a lot of trouble. He crossed his arms and glared at the two of them, he hardly believed them. But there was no proof to put them at the scene of the crime. "Since you're out after curfew, you're still in trouble. If I find out you had anything to do with what has happened tonight, you wish you hadn't snuck out of your dorms." He looked from the both of them, both of them were thorns in his side. "I will personally make sure you two get the punishment you deserve."

He cracked his next before pointing down the hall. "Get to walking, I'll be right behind you making sure you get to your dorms." He had much better things to do with his time but, no, he was spending his time making sure hooligans stayed out of trouble. "Your parents will be notified along with the headmistress."

Mabel almost let out a sigh of relief, butnstopped herself. If she fid let out the breath then the professor would know something was up. She looked back over at Fane when the professor wasn't looking. She squeezed his hand and smiled. They were actually getting away with it. They weren't going to get blamed for the door. This was great. She was just glad he caught on with her story, he really was the perfect partner in crime.

"Whoever it was was quick," she added for good measure. "I hope you catch them, they were very loud. They probably woke up a lot of people." She let go of Fane's hand and went ahead of both of them. She was secretly freaking out that her parentd would be told. She was in deep shit. What if they decided to send her to some muggle school? What if she couldn't see her friends anymore? Sbe let out a shaky breath before looking back at Fane then Professor Cox. She had to play it cool and act as if she didn't care that her parents would be told about this.
