Twas a nice day. The sun was shining much to the protest of the grey clouds trying to overthrow it. It was a strong sun, though, and would not be so easily thwarted. It shined down on the grounds of Beaubaxton, where Digger was enjoying himself quite a lot. He sat on the grass feeding some gnomes; coaxing them to come nearer with bits of chocolate.

“Aha!” he threw a dungbomb at an old fat gnome as it got near enough. It growled and gave him the middle finger. Digger laughed and returned the hand gesture before sending a gush of water from his wand at him. The gnome spluttered, and scrabbled some curse words out of his mouth. Three more gnomes were trying to get near Digger to give him a bite and a kick, but he was alert, and shot a blasting curse at all three of them, sending them flying into the air. He laughed some more and went back to picking on the old fat one, who was still recovering from the spool of water.

He smirked, and reached behind himself to get his bag of dungbombs when some teeth sunk into his fingers. He screamed, and jumped to his feet. A little runt of a gnome had snuck up behind him and he was still stuck to his finger, his eyes mad. He looked like he was trying to bite the whole thing off. Digger continued screaming and started spinning around trying to get the ruddy thing off him. The gnome finally fell off his finger, and went flying into the air, until SMACK! It had landed on someone’s face.

Marceline wasn't much of an outdoors person, but on that day, she was forced to leave the shadows of the school and trek down to the greenhouses to retrieve something specific plants for a potion she was working on. She had picked up on potions quickly, adoring the feeling of some of the yuckier ingredients beneath her knife and finding it to be almost fun. She sometimes liked working on potions in her free time. Her current extracurricular project, a potion which promised to give warts to any flesh it came into contact with. She figured it'd make for some fun for her enemies.

However, the girl hardly made it near the greenhouse before she heard a disturbance in the bushes. Common instinct told her she didn't care and should carry on with her own business, but fate rolled otherwise. She was placing one foot after another when suddenly a strange, potato-looking creature came flying towards her. Her brain hadn't time to calculate the situation before it was on her face. The creature held on tight and once she pried it from her pixie-like face, the creature chomped down on her hand.

"Let go! You ugly potato demon!" Marcy yelled and swung her person around in hopes that it would get dizzy and fall off. However, Marcy got dizzy before then and came crashing down through the bushes and landing on something solid, but not hard. The creature released his grip, leaving a burning crescent of irritated flesh on her arm, and Marcy did her best to kick it away from her fallen position. She twisted around to stand up and then realized what, or whom, she was on. "Digger!" She said, half sounding as a casual greeting, half sounding accusing.

Digger gasped as the creature flung off his finger, and hastily examined it. "Bloody damn thing..." he cursed under his breath. His finger throbbed and bled and he wrinkled his nose at it. He was just taking a closer look when someone hit him, and he fell over, and got crushed by them. Well, that was one way to distract himself from his finger pain.

The person on top of him, a girl, made a kick at something, and he heard another curse word leave a gnome's mouth before it scurried away. Digger smirked, glad that the blasted thing got at least some of what it deserved. Then the girl on top of him twisted around, and he pulled a face of disgruntlement at the close quarters they were sharing.

He raised his eyebrows though when she said his name. Oh he totally knew this person, he realized. "Morkaline, right?" he asked, "partner in crime." A grin spread across his face at the memory. He then tilted his head at her, with confusion and slight disgust, as he noticed she was still on top of him. "Are you coming on to me?"

How could she forget about the boy who nearly got her into so much trouble she feared she would be expelled from school before she even set foot in it? Though she wasn't a fan of educational institutions, she figured a new 'magic' school had to be better than her all-girl boarding school she used to go to. She was mostly right. At least in this school there were classes that suited her taste.

She huffed and blew her bangs out of her face as the boy pronounced her name awfully. "Yeah, that's it," She said, a bit disgruntled. To say in the least, the boy didn't yell at her for knocking him over, unlike another snobbish boy she had the displeasure of meeting already.

Her face blossomed a deep red at the boy's notion and she thrusted her palms against his chest, pushing him into the ground before standing up and getting off of him. "I do have standards, y'know," She replied, somewhat indignantly. She hardly even thought of boys in that manner and any girl she had met her age whom had a 'boyfriend' possessed a relationship that lasted a day, a week at best. No dating was out of the question at this point for her.

"What was that ghastly thing?" Marceline asked, patting the dirt off of her skirt. She received a tear in her stocking upon the fall, but she wasn't upset. it only made her look all the more punk in her opinion. "And why was it flying at my face?"

Digger grunted as she pushed him further into the ground as she got up. "Whatever," he said, with an eye roll, before staggering to his feet. He doubted she even had any of those so called 'standards'. He put his bleeding finger into his mouth and sucked on it, vaguely wondering if the gnome had rabies.

"What thing--oh that was a... Drawman." he said, eyes sparking up, as they always did when his mind began twisting some kind of made-up story into life. "They used to live in the palace," he motioned up to the school. "In fact, they built it. They were just normal wizards and witches at first. But then some war thing happened, I don’t know the details, but in the end they were cursed to look like little freaks and live forever. They've been hanging around being stupid since." he smiled matter-of-factly. "They can also fly." he added.

"The real question though, is why did you attack me?" He looked her up and down and then checked his pockets. He still had everything in his pockets, so she hadn't just robbed him. Maybe she had just been excited to see her partner in crime, and that was some kind of glomp. Like a tackle hug... If it was, it had hurt quite a bit and he didn't appreciate it.

Marceline flopped on the grass beside Digger and pulled out a redvine to munch on as she listened to Digger's story. She didn't know whether that was really true about the potato demons, but it was awfully interesting. "I think I like calling them potato demons instead. They really do look like potatoes, y'know?" She bit off a piece of redvine and munched it, then offer one to Digger.

"Hello!" She replied, annoyed when he asked her why she fell on top of him and waved her free hand in front of his face. "You'd fall over too if a drawman hit you in the face!" She replied, indignantly. "You just so happened to be in the way when I fell," She finished and chomped once more on the licorice.

"well they were originally potatoes, but they evolved. Evolution, yah know?" He grinned, and sat down across from her and gave her a studious once over.

He immidatly tried to bite her hand as it was waved in his face, but missed. "Maybe you should look where you're falling then, next time." he said with impertinence. "Hang on" he took out a rock and threw it at Gnome as it was sneaking up behind Marceline, and got it square in the face. "Ha!" he picked up another rock and threw it harder, smacking it over, "Little potato demon..." he hissed.
