Emotional Owls
Katie had been in here before, she knew that she had, because when she saw one of the owls, she had remembered being dragged away by her mother. Making her way to the back of the shop, she squatted down and was now at eye level with the owl.
It seemed nothing special, just an ordinary barn owl, but Katie knew, when her hand reached out to stroke its feathers, and it leant into her palm, the eleven year old smiled, but frowned when the owl started to coo. Did owls coo? Letting the owl hop onto her arm, the redhead, stood up and slightly stretched her legs.
"Stupid emotional owls," She said, as she paid for the barn owl. Looking up as the person at the main desk asked if she wanted a cage, she shook her head. After all, her owl, which she now had decided to call Lancelot, after a myth she had read years ago when she was still living in Kent, Lancelot could just fly home now, it would save her a lot of money...
