A World of Words

Linette crouched down low so she could get a good look at the words written on the wall outside the Cerisier Commonroom. Words were her life and so naturally she had to find out what was written there no matter how small the writing. "Oh drat it all," she muttered. "What language is that supposed to be. It wasn't French or English or even runic. The fourth year frowned at the writing. It was so unfair. She wanted to read something and it was all foreign to her.

She sat back on her heals and rested her back against the wall. If only the person had written it in runes. That would have had her able to understand and practice for class at the same time. Linette tapped her wand against her hand thoughtfully. Was there a spell to help translate unknown languages? If there were she couldn't recall ever learning the spell. Wasn't that just wonderful. A most useful spell and as far as she knew a complete mystery.

Footsteps sounded down the corridor and Linette quickly stood making sure her legs obscured the writing. "Hi. Ready to enter the common room?" she asked. "By the way you wouldn't happen to know any translation spells would you." She casually tapped her wand against her hand as she spoke.
