Muffled Or Maybe Not

The commonroom was quiet except for one person and their infernal humming. Lucie tried to shut out the humming by hunching over her Charms essay but to no avail. The humming sounded like it was getting louder and soon she found herself humming. Why wouldn't it stop? Why wouldn't they stop? She looked down at the essay again before shooting a look at the library book she'd borrowed with it's explanations of certain types of charms to do with deafening or allowing private conversations.

"Muffliato," she whispered to herself and tapped her fingers against the page. It was for stopping others from hearing your private conversations. That much was true but Lucie wondered if perhaps she used it on herself it'd stop her from hearing any noise around her. Far easier than silencing ever single person around her who dared even do so much as sneeze.

With that thought in mind, Lucie pulled her wand out from under the pile of books and pointed the wand at herself. It did nothing of the sort. The humming was still going on and Lucie had to reread the information given regarding the spell. "Damnation," she muttered angrily before looking up at the humming offender. "It's your fault," she accused whilst pointing her wand at them. If she got the spell rightly understood and cast no-one else in the room would be able to over hear her accusations. No-one except the person she was speaking to.
