Term 16 Round III: Feu vs Montagnard Empty Term 16 Round III: Feu vs Montagnard

Post by Professor Bowen Mon Dec 22, 2014 11:03 pm

Montagnard and Feu had both played great games, and Professor Bowen was expecting an even better one today.

The winter had been a mild one, and it was giving way to an even warmer springtime. The sun was shining and there was a light breeze. It was a perfect day for Quidditch.

"I would like to congratulate both teams for making it to this final round. This has been a great season. Now I want a clean game. Banken, Green, shake hands," the professor said to the players, before blowing her whistle.

Once everyone was in position, she released the game balls.

Term 16 Round III: Feu vs Montagnard Empty Re: Term 16 Round III: Feu vs Montagnard

All the attention Isobel had gotten from the school for her first Quidditch game was feeding her ego. She was determined to win the cup for Montagnard and it didn't matter what anyone else thought.

Isobel shared a look with her teammates. They had practiced really hard, and she knew they could perform well. "Let's go," she said simply. She didn't really know what to say.

She flew to her spot after smirking at Feu's captain. Isobel was ready to win.

With the whistle blown, she was off to find the snitch. She heard cheering from the Feu side of the pitch. Someone had already scored.

Term 16 Round III: Feu vs Montagnard Empty Re: Term 16 Round III: Feu vs Montagnard

Lucie didn't understand the smirk the younger Montagnard captain sent her. It appeared to her to be a little silly to do that against an older more experienced captain. She hadn't dared do anything at this girl's age. And it was experience which Lucie hoped won her team the cup this year. What did she mean by hope? Of course they would. They were the more experienced team. The only loss was last year and after winning her first match of the year this year Lucie had refound her confidence in herself and her teammates.

She pushed off and flew to the Montagnard goals ready to protect them from any quaffle a Montagnard chaser threw that way. The fourth year had a bit of a wait as one of her chasers managed to score the first goal. "Keep it up," she called out encouragingly. Probably unnecessarily too when taking into account how well the chasers did last game when they annihilated the opposition. Waiting for action at her end was boring but her reward was hearing another ding down the other end of the pitch. She would take all the boredom if her chasers kept up their wonderful performance.

Gregory had cringed watching the Montagnard captain smirk at Lucie. It reminded him of last year's defeat.

But that wouldn't happen again. Feu was going to win. He knew it. No bratty ickle captain was going to beat them. Normally, he'd feel bad for thinking that way, but he was way too excited about the Quidditch Cup to be his normal pessimistic self.

Greg was chasing a bludger, while keeping a close eye on the score. Feu had scored the first few points easily, but Montagnard seemed to be on the path to recovery, as the bell had rung at their side.

Bo had a good record when it came to catching the snitch. He only had one job in the game of Quidditch and given that he caught the snitch more times than he didn't, he considered that he did his job well. However, he didn't let it get to his head. Excessive pride would only lead to his downfall, Bo knew, and when he saw the young captain smirk at Lucie, he felt infuriated. She had only won one game so far, whereas Lucie had lead her team to many wins during her four years as captain.

"Send a bludger at her, will you?" He said only half-teasing to Greg, the beater, before flying off in search of the snitch. Suddenly all ire of the cocky captain left his mind as he perused the pitch. He wanted to focus to ensure that they beat Montagnard that game.

Greg knew that Bo was just kidding about hitting the girl. But now the thought was there. He shuddered. The Montagnard girl was obviously a brat. But he didn't want to think about maliciously hitting her. A bludger probably weighed more than she did.

He convinced himself that she wouldn't be much of a bother to Bo. He had been playing longer than she had. Experience trumped talent and usually luck.

He hit a bludger away from one of his teammates so they could get to the scoring area, but still kept a close eye on the girl. Greg would hit one near her, if she tried anything funny or became more obnoxious.

Isobel was looking for both the snitch and a decent spot to watch the game. She needed to see the big picture before she could find the one detail that meant winning the game.

She had found her spot, but she heard the buzz of the snitch's wings. But hearing was not the same thing as seeing. And she couldn't just blindly chase the noise. She had watched Kayla do it in her previous game, and it definitely helped Isobel find the snitch more quickly. She wasn't going to pull a Kayla. Isobel was going to wait for them to slip up first.

Haruhi always got excited when it came to the last game. The difference this time was she was finally participating in it and would have a chance at helping her team bring home the quidditch cup. No way would any laziness pass with her now. She was wide awake and ready to get scoring goals as soon as she had stepped out onto that pitch that day.

Sure enough, Feu was quick to score points in the beginning of the game, with a little help from Haruhi. She had never played a game where they had outscored the snitch, but given the score situation, she held it as a tiny hope in her heart that today might be that day. Not that she doubted Bo would miss the snitch.

Haruhi sent another goal through the post and turned to see what looked like an opposing beater sending a bludger towards her out of spite. She panicked, knowing she had to dodge, but fortunately before she could execute her escape, a fellow beater blocked it. "Thank you!" She called, before flying off to stay near enough to the other chasers.

Term 16 Round III: Feu vs Montagnard Empty Re: Term 16 Round III: Feu vs Montagnard

The Montagnard Chasers were in better form than the Ceriser chasers of the last match. Lucie had a much more challenging time at blocking the quaffle. She was glad her team were still better when it came to scoring and she still had faith that Bo would catch the snitch again.

She flew toward the left goal to block the quaffle and succeeded. The next time a Montagnard chaser came her way, however, Lucie didn't move quick enough. The keeper looked up at the score board once the quaffle was back in play and in the hands of Feu. Still ahead of Montagnard. Her eyes then fell on the Montagnard captain before shifting to Bo. Now there were two reasons for hoping he caught the snitch. The win and showing the other captain that smirking too soon is never a good idea.
