SOP Meeting: Let's Make a Story Empty SOP Meeting: Let's Make a Story

Caleb was now the leader of the Student Organized Press club, he was going to try his best to be the best. He spent tons of time thinking of ideas, but he was getting no where. After meeting with Sawyer, the new co-leader of SOP, they had come up with an idea together. Caleb was pretty happy with this idea, even though he wasn't the one to come up with it.

Caleb stood in front of the club and smiled brightly. "Hello!" It was nice to see everyone's faces. "Now that Linette is gone and graduated, I'm the new leader. And I'd like to introduce the new co-leader, Sawyer." He smiled at the co-leader, he was glad it was him and not someone else. "You can stand up and introduce yourself if you'd like." He was sure that the club new who he was, but he gave him a chance to introduce himself if he wanted to.

"So, today we're going to make a story. I'll start it off and then someone will add on, then someone else till we have a full story." He cleared his throat before he began. "Once upon a time..." How cheesy. "There was a boy and he..."

"Who wants to go next? I wanna see what you guys can come up with."

Ruby was excited for her second year of Beauxbatons, she loved this club. She applauded with the rest of the club when the co-leader was announced, he was Noah's brother. How cool was that? When the applause died down, the leader continued. What was his name again? She was always so bad with names and she could not remember his name. She listened carefully to the older boy, making sure she got the directions right. It was a simple command and Ruby raised her hand to go first.

"...had a dog, but not just a normal doggie. His dog was as big as a lion and spoke in different languages. One minute he'd speak english, then Spanish, then French. He wasn't in control of this and the boy couldn't understand him because he was always changing what language he spoke it." She smiled, satisfied with her little story.

Joining SOP hadn't been Stephanie's idea. It was all her older sister who suggested she should join the school paper as a way of channelling her daydreaming. She'd expected a lecture on her report card and thus had been surprised when Marie came up with this idea. Daddy and Auntie Simone seemed to treat Marie as though she were a genius for such a suggestion. Now that she was here Stephanie wondered just how well this would work. She'd felt like she'd been steamrolled into this suggestion. Now she was stuck in a club she wasn't even sure she wanted to join.

The meeting idea though sounded like a rather fun one. A story? Surely she could pull some of her daydream ideas out and make something of them. That was until Ruby took up the strands of the story. Stephanie blinked as she tried to come up with a way to continue it on after the younger girl stopped. "Um well. One day a wizard came along to hear this really big dog changing languages rapidly as it talked to the boy. He suggested...." She stopped as she failed to come up with an idea of what the wizard might suggest.

Adela had always loved the annual Student Organized Press meetings. The leaders always came up with ideas for the meetings that were both fun and helpful. The activities helped improve skill and knowledge on everything involving the press, but just felt like fun little games. This year was going to be a little different, though the girl wasn't sure how different. This is the first year for her to be a member of the club without Linette as the leader. Adela had always looked up to Linette and was sad to see her go, but she knew Caleb would do a fantastic job. The prefect knew that Caleb was very creative and fun to hang out with, so he would make a great leader. Plus, this year he had Sawyer.

Sawyer was also very creative and original... He usually just used his skills for pranking people. It will be interesting to see what ideas he puts into the meetings. Adela looked around room for anything that might look suspicious. Caleb and Sawyer were two of the girl's closest friends, so she was excited to see them working together as the big dogs of the SOP. Speaking of big dogs, there was a story that needed added onto. She rose her hand as high as she could. "I'll go next!" Adela thought of what the wizard might suggest to the boy. "Okay, the wizard suggested that the boy use a potion on the dog. This particular potion will cause the dog to only speak the language that the boy wants it to. The hard part is, the potion doesn't taste or smell good. The boy has to trick the dog into drinking the potion. He does this by..." She was curious to see what someone else might come up with for a strategy.

"...Putting it in a meat flavored cupcake on the dog's fourth birthday. The dog barely gets it down, but after it has taken the potion the dog says..." Charon hadn't been expecting this kind of an exercise so he just went with what he thought was right enough. He liked the student organized press club a lot. It even surprised himself a bit, and pushed him to joining a newspaper and printed article club at the muggle school he went to over the summer. He really did like that school now. He was a better goalie than he was a keeper. Not that he was a ad keeper he was just better at soccer.

Sawyer had thought about trying to apply for leader of SOP for quite sometime since joining but he never actually done it, that changed last year when he applied. Now he was Caleb's co-leader and the annual meeting was here. Unlike most new leaders or co-leaders Sawyer was not nervous, in fact he was very confident as the topic that him and Caleb had com up with was simple yet fun so there wasn't much work to be done here. He stood behind Caleb as he introduced them both and described what this years meeting was going to be about. The story was started off talking about a boy, which was normal and a bit dull, but it quickly changed to talk about a huge dog that changed languages. That was way more interesting if not a bit bizarre.

The teen stood in the back for a while listening as others added to the story and smiled at how creative they all were. When the story seemed to fall quiet Sawyer picked it up. "and he said that was very creative of you. Just like it was so creative of all of you to come up with such a great short story. Excellent work everyone, give yourselves a round of applause. Be sure to keep up that creativity when you're writing your articles this year." Sawyer said with a bright smile, proud of himself to find a way to tie the story into an ending of the meeting.
