Miss You Empty Miss You

The greenhouse was always a pretty place to visit and Gus always enjoyed visiting when he could. Ever since his cousin had left for Hogwarts, he had been feeling a bit down and he tried to push off his feelings by making himself busy. He had read all of the books in his dorm, he cleaned his whole dorm(even Fane's side), he was up-to-date on his homework. But now he wasn't so busy anymore and his feelings were rushing back. It wasn't like he'd never see her again, he would. But now he was alone with no older cousin to follow around. He was lonely and even though he did have a friend, he hadn't spent any time with him. He felt alone and nothing could help that, even if he did hang out with his friend.

Feeling alone wasn't a foreign thing to Gus, he was an only child after all, he knew what it felt like to be alone. It was a feeling that left him feeling empty inside, like it ripped away everything else and replaced it with numbness. Why was he so upset about her leaving? She would always be a letter away. Gus stuck his hand in some dirt and watched it fall from his open fingers. He didn't notice the younger boy enter the greenhouse, he was to preoccupied with the dirt.

Stark had always liked the flowers that grew at the palace but usually he only went out looking for the ones out on the grounds and inside. The only time he saw the prettu exotic ones that grew in the greenhouses was during his weekly herbology lesson but today he decided to venture there without the professor around for a lesson. A lot of the plants there were intimidating, like the devils snare and the mandrakes, because the professor had told them how dangerous they were, and then there were the ones they hadn't even learned yet.

Today though the young boy had finally found the confidence to go by himself. Once inside the front gate he looked around at all the different greenhouses and wondered which one was the safest to go in. He chose the one they had been using this year for lessons assuming at least there he knew all the plants. When heopened the door he found someone else there already so he skipped over and said, "Hi," with a bright smile.

Gus was glum and it showed, his posture was slumped and there was a frown plastered on his face. He thought he was unapproachable but he thought wrong because a younger student came right to him and smiled at him. Did August really want to be alone or did he just want someone to notice how lonely he was. "Hi," he replied back in a tiny voice, he didn't even look at the boy.

Scoop up dirt, let it fall, repeat. It was a cycle and was like a very boring game. But it kept him busy and focused. He hoped he didn't come off as rude for not paying attentiom to the boy but he didn't want to ruin anyone elses mood. So he kept quiet and hoped the boy would go away.

Stark didn't have a shy bone in body so he had no problem bouncing up to this glum looking boy. The boy looked a bjt familiar like perhaps they had passed by in the corridor before but not familiar enough to say he knew the boy. He looked older than Stark but not by much kind of like his new friend Fane, whom he had met on the train earlier that year. It seemed this boy wasn't as nice as Fane though or he was just so glum, over whatever was making him look so sad, that he didn't care about how he sound. Stark thought about leaving but not until he had at least tried to cheer him up.

"Are you okay? Did you wanna plant something there or just get your hands all dirty for fun?" He asked sweetly before sitting on the edge of the flower bed.
