Gotta Be You

Post by Guest on Wed Oct 30, 2013 7:47 pm

The new year brought a vampire to the school and locked the students inside. Well at least it locked most of the students inside, Christian seemed to think those rules didn't apply to him. During the lock down he had found some secret passages that took him outside without being caught and often ventured outside alone. Now the vampire was caught and the students flooded the grounds again. Now that ninety percent of the palace occupants were outside Christian found he liked the inside much more.

With Christmas coming up the sixth and seventh years were starting to talk about the Valentine's Day dance, at least a lot of the females were most of the males didn't care about it this early yet. Christian wasn't exactly fussed about it for he just had to throw on some dress robes, not think about the hair and makeup like girls. The only thing he cared about this early was finding his date which seemed to be a big deal with these kinds of things. When he started thinking about a date there was only one person that came to mind, this being one of the times when have few friends was convenient. He decided it would be best to get this settled now instead of waiting till last minute so earlier today he had slipped a note under the door of dorm #1, the one he knew Linette stayed in, asking her to meet him in the prefect lounge.

Ever since last year when Christian had randomly decided to kiss her he wasn't sure what their relationship was anymore. She was the last of his friends that he hadn't shared a kiss with, but unlike the other two both were happy afterwards including Christian, and that was new to him. During the last game she had made a comment about a reward if they had won, which sadly they didn't, but he wasn't sure what she thought of their relationship now so this might be an interesting meeting.

A badge restricted Linette more than she'd realised. If she hadn't been chosen to be a prefect she might have done all she could to try and escape from the palace. Instead she'd been kept busy making sure the younger students didn't try to get outside. There really was no fun in being an ogreish prefect stopping others from breaking rules. Or reporting them for breaking the rules. The capture of the vampire couldn't have happened at a much better time.

She had planned to go outside this day and take advantage of the fresh air. It may be cold out but it would be much better than looking for some indoor distraction from her studies. Instead that plan had been thwarted by a note slipped under her dorm room door. Thank goodness her dormmate wasn't in the room. This was possibly better than her original plans and Linette wasted no time in leaving for the prefect's lounge.

Linette had wondered where they stood with each other after that kiss last year but it'd been hard to find a moment to corner him about it. Then of course was the planned reward for winning which never happened thanks to the more experienced Montagnard seeker catching the snitch before the new Cerisier seeker could.

"Christian," she said with a bright smile and greeting as she entered possibly the most privileged room a Beauxbatons student could enter. "I've made it here without having to be stopped any step of the way." Linette was feeling nervous now she was alone in a room with him. Did she kiss him or what and see what it was he wanted to talk to her about?

Christian sat in his usually spot in the lounge, on the small sofa just big enough to lay out on. He started out sitting there patiently but suddenly he grew impatient and stood up. He leaned against the back of the sofa facing away from the door, but the longer he waited the more he thought about what he was about to do. Nerves started kicking in and he started pacing around the lounge. What if she just saw their relationship as a once in awhile snog but not enough to publicly be called his 'date'? He wasn't sure he wanted to go much farther than just a date to the dance but what if she didn't even wanna go that far with it?

He froze mid-step when he heard footsteps outside on the stone. That must be Linette for surely anyone else would be outside right now. He decided to take up a temporary seat on the arm of the sofa as if he hadn't just been pacing. When the door opened it was Linette as he's predicted and she smiled brightly saying only his name as greeting. He stood at her entrance and smiled brightly. "Linette, glad you were able to make it. Sorry about the late notice." He said apologetically.

What did he do now? How does one ease into asking this? What was he supposed to say to start a conversation? He was sure he looked like a wreck right now even though he was trying to act calm, cool and collective. "You know while Cerisier didn't win last time, I think I gave it one hell of a try. You think maybe that counts for maybe a slightly smaller reward?" He asked with a smirk. There you go Christian when in doubt say something stupid, excellent job. He scolded himself. What was wrong with him?

"Late notice? I hadn't noticed." She smiled brightly at him whilst feeling her insides twisting up for reasons she could not comprehend. Nervousness was a feeling she hadn't felt in a long time. Not since she was a much younger student had she felt like she might throw up any moment. Great impression she'd make on Christian then wouldn't she?

She smiled at the reminder of her promise. "I did say that didn't I?" she remarked. "I think that perhaps you do deserve a small reward. Like you said, you did try very hard and you are the best chaser out there." Linette stepped closer and stretched up to kiss him on the cheek. She then stepped back again. "Nice reward?" She hoped she hadn't made a mistake with doing that.

Christian gave her a small smile when she pretended not to notice how he had just notified her of this meeting a few hours ago, she didn't seem to mind coming up so he took that as a good sign. He wasn't sure why he was so nervous about this he was just asking her to be his date, that wasn't a serious commitment or anything just a date to a dance for one night. Since he was who he was he had to say something about the reward. At first he felt stupid but then realized her reaction would help him gauge how she felt right?

When she filled the remaining space between them and reached up on her toes to plant a small kiss on his cheek he had his answer. She moved to step back afterwards but he caught her by the waist, almost losing grip on the smooth, blue fabric. He ended up grabbing her waist on both sides to keep her from backing up all the way. He gave her a crooked smile, "Great reward." There was something endearing about how she didn't take advantage of that situation as his other friends might have, he was sure they wouldn't have simply gone for a cheek kiss.

Christian bent down a bit so he could speak quieter but she could still hear him. "What would you say if I asked you to be my date to this dance?" He asked quietly, his crooked smile was gone now and he looked completely serious. After saying that he straightened back up to look at her face trying to gauge her reaction based off her facial expression.

His reaction to her kiss gave her more confidence. She would have kissed him again but she really did want to know if the reward was the only reason why he asked her up here. Besides it was nice just to stand there feeling his hands on her waist and she reached up to place her hands on his shoulders again.

"Dance?" she asked and then beamed up at him. "Oh the Valentine's dance." Linette may have a dress all ready for the dance but she hadn't dared to think about who she'd go or dance with for fear she might be disappointed. Things like that had never bothered her before but now when she was confused over her feelings for Christian she was unsure of everything. "I'll go with you. Be your date." This Valentine's dance was suddenly becoming more than just a chance to socialise without the younger students around. It was much more wonderful than that. It would be her first date.

Once it became clear that Linette wasn't going to reject his touch or continue to back away, in fact she seemed happy there, Christian pulled her a even closer. He was sure that she could now hear or feel the crazy speed his heart was beating at. He was a bit concerned when she first questioned what dance he was talking about, how could she not know what dance he was talking about, was there any other dance? He opened his mouth to explain when she said the Valentine's day dance, he gave her a bright smile in confirmation.

When she finally answered his original question by saying yes she would in fact be his date he let out a breathe he hadn't realized he'd been holding. With a small smile he bent down and whispered, "Then it's date." Christian then pressed multiple light kisses on her neck that slowly trailed up.
