No Candy Empty No Candy

This was going to be a terrible year, Caleb could sense it. Over the summer, his mother had been a terrible person and took away his candy. Who knew how he'd act without the beautiful treat. He was on edge and he just wanted his candy back. "You can do this," Caleb whispered as he sat down for breakfast. "Maybe I'll get it back after the year is over or mother will realize how unfair she was being."

He hadn't noticed that someone was sitting beside him and that he probably looked crazy. He looked up at the blonde girl. "Oh hey Paige! I didn't notice you. How was your summer?" He had met Paige at the candy shop, she loved candy just as much as he did. Maybe she had some with her? "Mother took away my candy this year for getting in trouble last year. Its so unfair."

It was a brand new year and Paige was just as excited for this new year as she had been last year when she was just an ickle firstie, the only difference being she wasn't scared. This year she had the confidence of an older student and she had people she knew now instead of going in blindly. It was breakfast time and still within the first week, which meant she still had plenty of her candy supply still .It wasn't until much later in the year that she found herself out of candy and looking for places to get her sweets. But for now candy for breakfast was a totally acceptable thing for her.

She sat alone at the huge Montagnard table next to a boy that she had met sometime last year, but since she couldn't remember his name she decided not to say anything. She was busy snacking away on eggs and sugar quills when he turned to talk to her. Sadly he remembered her name so she was left looking stupid without a clue what his was. "My summer was great, thanks, how about yours?" She asked with a cheerful smile. She gasp loudly when he said his mum took his candy. "Merlin's beard! Why would she do that to you? Doesn't your mum love you?" She asked concerned.

Caleb's summer consisted of playing around his neighborhood, telling his cousins about his first year at a wizarding school, and helping his mother. That was before she took his candy. Right before school started, his candy was gone. Forever it seemed. Which was the most terrible thing ever to Caleb and he wanted his candy back. Does wishing on a star really work? If it did, Caleb was sure to do it. "My summer was good, I spent most of it out and about. London is really fun during the summer, plus there's a bunch of tourists. Lots of fun to mess around with, they get so confused when I use different accents."

The topic of his mother taking one of the only things that brought him joy was tough to talk about. "I think she loves me, I'm not sure anymore. I'm supposed to 'focus on school'." He used his hands to quote the words that his mother had told him. "I don't see how my candy effected my school work. I still don't pay attention much."
