Ding Dong Bell Empty Ding Dong Bell

Linette could hear it. There was something ringing but so far she'd failed to locate it. Where was it? She had heard it around here somewhere. The fifth year strained her ears. Nothing but silence. Nothing at all. All was dead and still. She raised her lit wand and peered down the dim dungeon corridor. Nope. Nothing. Then came the tinkling again. She raced after it but it was that little bit faster. "Stop," she called out. "Get back here now you bell ringer!" The sound echoed down the empty corridor and Linette huffed.

Eventually she just gave up and slumped against a wall. Why had she come down here to follow an ghostly bell ringing? She frowned as the bells sounded again. They sounded really close. Like at her feet close. The feel of something rubbing against her legs came next and a meow. Linette jumped and blinked as she looked down at the cat with a collar around it's neck and there was the bell. "So you're the bell ringer." She reached down and picked up the feline. "Now why are you down here and not with your owner?" The only answer given was a small meow and a low rumbling purr. "Come along we need to find who you belong with." Linette looked up the corridor again. Was there someone there?

At Beauxbatons there were very few things that he cared a lot about, his twin, Finlay and Artemis. He didn't see it as his second home as he had heard some people called it. It was simply a school that he attended and lived at for most of the year. It was fun to be living in a palace like a king and there were always plenty of people around for entertainment and the grounds were breath taking. This year he got to go down the Village du Cheval and that was pretty cool but he still didn't have many emotional attachments to the place. Today he had been about to go outside with Artemis when she rain into the dungeons.

The dungeons were always eerily dark and except for the History of Magic class almost no one went down there. He heard their were the kitchens down there were house elves serve the ones brave enough to find the kitchen. Rumor had it though that in the darkness of the vast tunnels that was the dungeons there were trolls, like the real big, ugly, children eating kind of trolls. There was also the room of the school's poltergeist that no one dared to go near down there. While he said he didn't believe in the trolls and that he wasn't afraid of the poltergeist he was still nervous about going down there. He had no choice Artemis was down there and nothing was going to hurt her if he had a say so he tore down the dark corridor after the cat.

It seemed like he had been walking around in the dark forever, it felt as if he was in a huge maze and would never find his way out again. What if Artemis had already gotten back upstairs and he was just walking around in the never ending maze of darkness. He wondered how long he had been down there, that was until he heard a loud crash behind him causing him to jump and he took off running through the dark. The scare most have been all he needed for soon he found the entrance where there was a girl with a lit wand and his cat. "Artemis where have you been?!" He said walking up to the girl with the huge, ball of chocolate fur that was his cat. "Hey I've met you before." He said seeing the girl's face properly now.

"Artemis?" Linette looked at the cat and then to the boy. "Is that your name young miss? You know you shouldn't be down here on your own. Aren't you lucky my jurisdiction as a prefect doesn't' reside over animals?" Lucky for her too. That would have doubled her responsibilities and cut down on time for all the work the Professors thought were fair to pile up on the fifth year class.

"Met me have you?" Linette stepped closer with the cat still in her arms before shining her wand on his face. "Oh yes. The boy with the invisibility cloak. Now you're the boy without the cat. Would you like her now?" That occasion was one of the reasons why the prefect badge was such a surprise. Somehow or some way no professor had been clued into her cutting class that one time. It must have been her attending the hospital wing as ordered before failing to return to potions which had somehow kept her safe from punishment.
