Cerisier vs Montagnard: Round III Empty Cerisier vs Montagnard: Round III

Post by Professor Bowen Sat Jul 26, 2014 1:27 pm

The snow was finally all melted and when the sun came out now it actually warmed everything instead of just making things brighter. This was Professor Bowen's favorite time of the season because now all of the students were excited to see who would take home the house quidditch cup for that year. This season was especially exciting since the first game ended in a Cerisier win and Montagnard won the second game. So, it was all down to this. Not only was there the question of that but it was also both teams captains' last year so both teams really wanted to win this for their long beloved captains.

When Professor Bowen finally made it to the pitch she saw that the stands had already started filling up to the brink. No one had chosen to miss this game. Once it was time to start she started her normal speech. "Welcome to the last quidditch game of the year. As I'm sure you all know this is Captain Henrau's and Captain Miller's last year here so let's give them a great game. Next year's captain's have been voted for and chosen. Cerisier has selected chaser Trent Davies to be their new captain! And next years Montagnard captain will be chaser Philip Bracknell! Now captain's shake hands and let the game begin." She said before blowing her whistle and tossing the balls in the air.

Cerisier vs Montagnard: Round III Empty Re: Cerisier vs Montagnard: Round III

Last match had been a bitter blow and Christine had been rather a bit hard on her sister. Today with the snow melting away and the weather being that little bit better she was feeling positive again. Maybe Stephanie could do it after all and they'll win the cup after too many years of Montagnard wins.

She was very happy to hear who would be captain next year. Not herself. Yes. She could spend her leadership abilities on the club she led and just hit bludgers for Cerisier. "Congratulations Trent on your appointment," she said before readying herself for Professor Bowen's whistle. This match will be much easier for bludger hitting than the last one.

Indigo would be announcing the final game of the season. She had been in the crowd when her best friend caught the snitch last game. She had been so proud of her and had stood up and clapped until her hands were sore. She had made sure to congradulate Cori on catching the tricky little ball and she had given her hot chocolate to warm her up. It really had been terrible weather to play in.

This round, however, called for much better weather. It was close to the end of the school year which meant warm weather. She wasn't as nervous as she had been her first game, but she was still a bit nervous. She turned on he'd microphone and began to speak. "This round says which house gets the cup this year," she said. "Montagnard has been getting it a lot lately." This was probably the most she had spoken in front of this big of a crowd. "Congrats to the new captains, Trent Davis and Philip Bracknell." She bit her lip at her mistake, she had pronounced Trent's last name wrong. "I'm so sorry, Trent. Trent Davies, I mean." Her face turned a bright red color and she moved her head away from the mic.

Guen grinned and made her way up to the announcer’s box. The last match of the year. It was so exciting and with the way that the season went this year, Cerisier might be able to the cup this year. She was hoping they would. If they did that would make Trent really happy. Guen sat down next to her fellow announcer and smiled at her.

She knew Trent really wanted to be named captain, she was so anxious up in the box for him. Professor Bowen was going to announce the new captain. She grinned hearing that both Trent and Philip were name as captains. Charlie was probably happy about that too. Guen giggled at Indigo’s little mispronunciation and leaned forward to the mic. “Congratulations, Trent!” She cheered. She really needed to stop focusing just on Trent. “Anyways, good luck to both teams today during this nail biter of a match!”

Stephanie had been half afraid her sister would be named captain after her. Christine was far too flighty for such an important position. Upon hearing Trent being named as the next captain she was able to relax. Good. "You'll do great next year," she said to him in an aside. Probably better than her. Right now she was especially nervous as this match was her chance to lead her team to victory. It'd been a long time since Cerisier had been in such a position where the final match would determine the winner.

She shook hands with Mabel whom she knew would be just as determined to win as herself. Then she was up in the air waiting and watching for the snitch determined to get to it. This time she would not be thwarted by the second year getting in first.

Trent took the pitch with butterflies. He didn't know if he'd won captain, but he hoped he had. Trent took the field casually (or at least casually as he could). He was trying to get himself in a zone when he heard Professor Bowen announce him as the new captain of Cerisier. He couldn't help, but smile like a doofus. He waved to the Cerisier crowd proudly. He was determined to bring the cup back home to Cerisier where it belonged.

He smiled at Christine's congrats and returned it with a "Thank you." He nodded when Stephanie assured him he'd have good fortune as a captain. "Don't worry Stephanie. We're going to win today for you. I promise." Trent flew to his position and smiled when Guen only wished him congrats. He winked at her and chuckled softly when the other announcer said his name wrong.

The whistle blew and Trent sped off towards the quaffle. Cerisier had already pulled ahead by a score and Trent was determined to tack on two more. He got his first quaffle in a bobbled exchange and scored on his sister. The second one came off a steal and score. Trent felt good about this game. Maybe they'd actually win.

Heather was extremely proud to hear her brother announced as captain. "Congratulations, Trent!" She yelled over to him. "Thank you for being my captain this year, Mabel." Heather smiled brightly and finally looked over to Philip. "Congrats dude." She nodded in appreciation before flying over to the keep. She sat tall on her broom. Then the whistle was finally blown by Professor Bowen and Heather took a breath.

Heather's breath had barely completed by the time a barrage of chasers from Cerisier were coming at her. Three quaffles had already gotten past her and that kind of really pissed Heather off. She bared down easily stopping the next three Cerisier attacks before stealing the snitch on the fourth one and passing it up to the Montagneard chasers for a score.

Philip was hoping to get captain. Maybe because of something Charlie had said back when they were just first years, but he knew being captain would impress her and really he wanted to be captain.

He smiled when Bowen named him and Trent as captain. Philip nodded to Trent as a congratulations then looked to Heather. “Thanks, kid.” Philip looked for Charlie in the stands and found her. He waved and smiled before getting on his broom, pushing off the ground.

This game, Philip was determined to do a much better job. Last game he literally played like crap. Even if they won, which was only because the new seeker, he needed to step up his game. Philip grabbed the quaffle in a weaker pass from a Cerisier to another. He hurried down the pitch and threw it hard; it sailed past the keeper and into the post. He flew back on the defense.

It was Mabel's final year at Beauxbatons and she was ready for the adult world. But first, she would make sure Montagnard had won the cup again. Whoever won this game won the cup for their house. She was determined for it to be Montagnard. Before going onto the field, she decided to have a little speech. "This is our last game," she paced the locker room. "Whoever wins gets the cup, let's make it Montagnard." She paused to look at her teammates. "Whoever replaces me better work hard and get the team into shape."

After her little speech, the team followed her onto the field. She shook hands with Stephanie without saying a word. The whistle was blown and she was up in the air looking for a bludger

Harley was glad Philip had made captain. She didn't know him too well, just that him and Charlie were attached at the hip and he had asked her for help on homework that one time, but he was a relatively nice guy who deserved the new position. She bumped his shoulder before they kicked off, saying, "Captain, huh?"

Last game the weather sucked majorly, so hopefully with better weather they would score another win. Everyone seemed more determined than ever, including herself, so if they played well, everything would work out. The game started with a near immediate goal from Ceriser, so she picked up the pace and quickly went to work at hitting the bludgers toward the blue and green dressed Cerisers.

Stephanie was tempted to tell Trent not to make promises he couldn't keep. However, she kept her mouth shut. There was no telling how she would perform against the younger seeker for the other team. That she believed was what would determine the winner of this match. Nothing else. She had to be on top of her game because she was sure the chasers and keepers of both teams were on an even par. Thus she could not rely on her chasers to help with making sure it didn't matter who caught the snitch.

It was, however, gratifying to know her chasers were already doing a good job of keeping them ahead of Montagnard. She turned her focus from the chasers in time to see a bludger headed her way. Stephanie only just managed to get out of its path in time. She needed to find that snitch now and end this thing.

Christine had hit more bludgers this match than any previous match and her arms were beginning to hurt. "Stephie please hurry up and find that snitch?" she asked. "I am not..." She whacked another bludger away from one of the Cerisier players, "...sure how long..." Another hit. "...I can keep up."

She switched the bat to her left hand and shook the right. A bludger came at her and she ducked, dropping her bat at the same time. "My apologies," she called out before flying down to pick up the bat. It had been a while since she last dropped it and she wished she could have kept up with it never again.

Philip didn’t have a chance to catch his breath. He was playing defense and trying to get a hold of the quaffle for himself. Finally there was a weak pass between the Cerisier chasers and he hurried forward to intercept the pass. Once he was certain the quaffle was in his hands, he bounded towards the opposite end of the pitch. He threw the quaffle hard and BAM, right into the posts. Philip grinned and flew quickly back to try to get the quaffle back in his hands. He lucked out and the quaffle was back in his arms. He passed it onto another chaser to get another goal for Montagnard, but they missed.

Guen was having much more fun this game. Trent hadn’t done anything stupid or daredevil worthy. Yet. She would kill him if he attempted anything like that again. She would smile at the girl beside her then focus back on the match. “Montgnard and Cerisier are really neck and neck this game! I wasn’t kidding when I called it a nail biter earlier.” She laughed softly, thinking she was the funniest little shit ever. Guenevere really wasn’t though. “Wonder how our seekers are doing right about now…” She mused aloud into the mic, squinting to look at the seekers. Both seemed pretty determined to win this game for their houses.

Trent was very proud of his sister, so far she was shaping up to be a really good keeper. Like today she was completely owning Trent and it was kind of embarrassing. He was just totally being stonewalled which was good because the witch might have actually pulled off a pretty good upset sob story. Trent tried to shrug off his anger and sighed, sitting back down. They were much more comfortable and competent to have a sealed up unmarked package. Trent wanted to win, but that snitch on Montagnard's side was hard to ignore. "Come on Stephanie." Trent prayed for a win.

Cori was scanning the skies fruitlessly. She couldn't find a single thing that would indicate a near by snitch and it was starting to really annoy her, but what was she going to do? She was so worried that the Henrau girl would get there first. She was a practiced seeker. Cori was just a second year. She just needed to learn the position, but here she was trying to win a game for an entire cup. It was actually the most insane thing ever.

Cori watched as the game tied up and the scoring began to grind to a halt. Great. It really was on her. However, then she caught a lucky break. She heard the sound of something fluttering. A hummingbird...? Or was it? Cori zoomed quickly after the sound.

Heather was pretty happy with herself. She'd managed to stifle her brother and Cerisier's offense, but unfortunately it seemed that the Montagnard offense had also been stalled, and now the game was basically at a standstill. Heather stayed back by the keep waiting for an onslaught that wasn't coming, and honestly the fact that it wasn't coming kind of pissed her off. She wanted a chance to really play and make an impact on the game.

She watched Cori make a move and crossed her fingers. Maybe the girl would pull through just yet. Heather just had to beat her brother. It would mean so much to her.

Cori was shocked. She was trailing the snitch without Stephanie at her side. Cori's heart was pounding a million beats a minute. There was a real possibility that they were going to win this game, and that possibility meant a lot to Cori. If she had a shred of a chance of winning it for her team than it was definitely worth it. Cori was flying as fast as she could. She could feel her bones shake and she soon stretched her hand out.

Then Cori felt the snitch hit her palm. She gasped loudly and grinned, curling her fingers around it. The ball began to stop moving in her hand and a final whistle ended the game in Montagnard's favor.

This match seemed to last longer than the last two games, but that was probably because everyone was determined to win and tried a lot harder. Either way, bludgers were becoming more and more hard to hit. Her arm was becoming a it sore, but she kept blocking her team from the bewitched iron balls that threatened to knock them off their broom.

Harley barely heard the final tweet of the whistle due to her focus on hitting the bludger that was zooming towards her, but once she did, she smiled and flew down next to Cori. They weren't the best of friend, hell she barely knew the girl, but she congratulated her nonetheless. "Good job, Cori," she yelled over the cheers of her teammates and the crowd.
