In La-La Land Empty In La-La Land

Post by Guest Thu Jul 03, 2014 12:14 am

Melanie had a nasty habit of doodling in her notebooks and on her parchment. It was something she had always done during muggle school and sadly, like her procrastination, continued onto Beauxbatons. Today, the drawing was of Willow. The cat showed up in a lot of her notes.

Charms was one of her better classes, but that was mainly because Hayden helped her out a lot with it. She forward to get more detailed with her doodle and shade it. Melanie was focused more on this and missed most of what Professor Boux was saying; and more importantly her fast approaching footsteps.

Hayden had a good habit of being able to bail Melanie out of trouble. It wasn't always an easy affair. Like today, he had to do a switch and flip as Professor Boux was fast approaching. What was a switch and flip? Well, Hayden leaned across and took her notebook, replacing it with his own meticulous notes, and flipping over her notebook to a blank page and scrawling notes as fast as he could. Today, however he felt like Professor Boux had definitely caught him bailing out Melanie today. However, instead of being angry or even pointing it out...he was almost positive that the Professor had smiled at him-an extremely small smile-but that smile was definitely there. Boux never smiled when it seemed like someone was trying to ignore one of her lessons or seemed like they didn't get it. Hayden couldn't help but nod a small 'thank you' before going back to writing more notes for Melanie.

Melanie didn’t even look over at him anymore after the switch and flip. She would thank him later for helping her out. She didn’t deserve such a good friend as him. Melanie did not want a detention and she liked Professor Boux quite a bit, so she didn’t want to get on her bad side. She looked up in time to make eye contact with the professor and was already looking back down at Hayden’s notebook. Melanie had completely missed the soft smile that the professor had given Hayden. She glanced over at Hayden and mouthed ‘Thank you’ to him, carefully swapping their notebooks once more. Melanie sighed softly; she was so useless in classes.
