Going Home

Dear Reader,

I'm not going to launch into a lie about how Beauxbatons is a home away from home etcetera. It is a school. A place of learning. That is all. There is nothing special about it. Sure we may learn magic here but there are other schools which serve the same purpose and I would say the same of them if I was sent to one of them. Personally I am glad my time here is drawing to a close.

Even so with all that I wrote above there have been good times and good friends who I am certain I will see again after graduating. My feet may be both planted in the wizarding and muggle worlds but I will not choose one over the other. It is who I am. Both witch and muggle and I will not be ashamed of either world.

One highlight of Beauxbatons is leading the Montagnard Quiddich team into victory two years in a row. How they do next year, however, is not something I really care about one way or another. I enjoyed the seven years on the team but that, like my education here, draws to a close and whilst I loved it I will not miss it.

There is only one piece of advice which I leave with this letter. Honesty may be the best policy but sometimes learning how to tell the truth will make your path in life smoother than mine has been. I still struggle with tactfulness. It's taken me a long time to realise that but I have the rest of my life to learn how to do it.
