Fiona held her broom in a tight grip as she looked up at the sky. Did it look like rain? Maybe she should forget about this latest brainwave. It wouldn't do to get wet and catch cold when she had a plan to play well this year. That was her strategy. Keep people on their toes. Expect her to continue to be the worst player in Quidditch and then wow them with her prowess. There was just one problem with that plan. Her fear of moving heights had not diminished since last year.

"I think this broom is good for nothing but sweeping the ground," she mused aloud. "Yep. That's it. Can't do it." She swung the broom over her shoulder and decided to leave the pitch. But then she thought of her sister. How could she keep Mabel on edge if she didn't do something unexpected? Nope. She was going to have to get over this fear of flying and improve so much Mabel would wonder if her sister was someone polyjuiced to look like Fiona. She'd gone to all that trouble to practice her catching and throwing. There was no point letting that go to waste if she still couldn't get up in the air without keeping her eyes closed.

The witch bent down and picked up the quaffle she'd also brought out for the occasion. Right. Throw up and fly. That was the order. The quaffle was soon up and so was Fiona. She swallowed as she determinedly kept her eyes open and managed to grab the quaffle on it's downward move. Eyes were still open and quaffle caught. Next step. What was the next step? Oh crap. She'd forgotten the need to have someone to throw it to. She looked down and shouted, "oi you. Get on that broom and get up here. Prefect's orders."

Tamara was simply walking by the Quidditch pitch. She had never had a knack for the sport. Well, her flying was pretty mediocre borderline below average, so she never really got into the sport. She did enjoy flying for leisure and watching the sport was quite fun. Tamara had gone for a walk and noticed the weather shifting slightly towards rain, so she decided to head back into the castle.

Tamara heard someone call to her. Prefect’s orders? But she was also a Prefect… She looked up and squinted slightly. Oh, it was one of Grace’s older sisters. She bit back the original sassy remark she was going to say. “Be right up!” Tamara called and grabbed the broom.

She took a deep, climbing onto the broom then kicked off the ground. Tamara looked at the girl. Oh, crap… which sister was this… Was it bad that after two years of dating Grace she still didn’t know the sister’s names? Yeah probably. But for the record they had never really met properly. “So, what do you need help with?” She asked, glancing to the quaffle in the older girl’s arms.

It was hard to distinguish one person from the other when you were up in the air so Fiona got a surprise when the respondee was her sister's girlfriend. A Cerisier too. Now this would be interesting. "What I want," she began as she dared to try holding the quaffle with both hands... "Hey I'm not holding onto the broom. Oops. Sorry. What I meant after that little interruption is for you to play catch and throw with me. That's all."

She tried twirling the quaffle on her fingers and dropped it. "Hang on." Fiona flew downwards and managed to grab it again. She gulped as she realised what she'd done. With one hand still on the broom and the quaffle under her arm she flew upwards again. "Now. As I was saying...here. Catch." One handed Fiona threw the quaffle at the other girl and then grabbed onto her broom again. "This is harder than it looks," she remarked as she gulped again. So far it was not working.

Tamara tilted her head at the older girl. She watched her nervously on the broom. “Be careful please…” She said a bit quietly. It was hard to focus on what she was saying with her not being safe at all. “Oh, okay. I can definitely do that. I have to warn you I’m not very good.”

Tamara watched her curiously as she flew back down. She waited until they were both at the same altitude. Tamara caught the quaffle a bit shakily. But she was able to keep herself steady. It would definitely be a horrible way to go, falling off one’s broom. Tamara nodded, looking over at her. “I totally agree with you. It was one of the reasons why I didn’t take up the sport.” She laughed slightly. “I give you props for joining it.” She smiled at her.

"Nor am I," Fiona assured her. She didn't think anyone could be quite as bad as her. She was just the one who'd been crazy enough to try out for her house team. Never again. Never ever would she do anything as crazy as that. Ever again. Not even if it would be the bugging of Mabel to end all buggings of Mabel.

Fiona laughed and shook her head. "I don't deserve that. I did it to annoy Mabel. I never dreamed I'd actually get picked to join the team." Which said something for the limited talent in her house. All of them were on the team. How else could the winning streak of Montagnard be explained? They were obviously so good that not even Fiona could drag them down.

"Ready to throw it back?" Fiona asked.

“Trust me, I’m terrible.” Tamara laughed slightly. Which was true, her cousins once got her to play quidditch with them.Once being the keyword. She kept scoring on the wrong posts and accidentally knocked another off their broom. They didn’t appreciate that and made Tamara be the “announcer” and referee for the game after that.

“No?” Ah. She wanted to bug her younger sister. “Well, you still tried out even if it was to annoy your sister.” Tamara turned the quaffle in her hands. “Do you like playing it?” She asked curiously.

Oh, right, she had to throw the quaffle back. “Yes, sorry.” She flew a bit ahead of the older girl then turned, tossing it back to her.

"I hate it," Fiona replied cheerfully. With the way she spoke anyone might have thought she was joking about how she felt rather than being amused at how the original joke backfired on her. "And after this year I will never get on a broom again." She'd learnt her lesson. Never ever do something to annoy Mabel which involved moving heights. It wasn't worth the pain and torment.

Fiona caught the quaffle, not quite with ease, but a little better than she had before. "You know something? I've decided that I'm gonna forget all about playing better just to surprise Mabel. I'll just live up to expectations or rather down to her expectations." She held the quaffle close to her body and nodded. "Yes. That's what I'll do. I guarantee that Montagnard will still win because they just keep on winning." And nothing, from what Fiona could see, will break that streak. Probably not until the Cerisier seeker graduates. By then Fiona will already be gone.

“You hate it?” Tamara repeated just to make sure she heard the older girl right. Pluse she responded so cheerfully that it was strange. She burst out in laughter. Bad impression. “Sorry, sorry, that was rude of me. I can’t believe you hate it though.. that’s just, wow.”

Tamara simply nodded as the girl spoke about annoying the other Miller sister. There really wasn’t much she could say on the matter. A.) She wasn’t involved and B.) Fiona had made up her mind. She simply waited for the quaffle to be tossed back to her.

“Fiona, you’re a seventh year, right?” She asked just making sure. “What are your plans for after school?” Tamara asked curiously.

"Yep," Fiona confirmed, "I hate it and wish I'd never come up with this crazy scheme in the first place." She shook her head. "Oh it wasn't that rude. I mean to say to hear someone say they hate playing quidditch despite being on a team must be a bit of a shock. It was a shock to me when I passed the tryout."

Fiona nodded. "That's right." She grimaced at the typical question asked of seventh years. "I plan to move objects around in my sister's rooms whilst they're away. Don't tell Grace what I plan to do. It'll be completely harmless. Nothing will be broken. It's just to confuse her when she comes home for holidays. For paid work I think I might...well I have a few ideas. That's all I can say on the subject."

Tamara nodded. “Did you make it because there was an open slot on the team and they were desperate to fill it?” She asked curiously. Well, that was good, Fiona didn’t think she was being rude for laughing.

“Sorry, for asking that question.” She picked up on the grimace. Fiona had probably been asked that thousands of times already from other students, professors, and family members. “Still planning on parking your sisters?” She laughed softly and nodded, drawing a cross over her heart. “My lips are sealed.” Sealed because your youngest sister is usually connected to them, but that was probably something Fiona didn't really need to know. “Oh?” She was curious about what Fiona had in mind, but didn’t press further on the topic.

Fiona grinned and nodded. "That's pretty much it. Maybe Bowen is a closet Cerisier supporter and thought I'd sabotage Montagnard's chances at winning." She loved a good conspiracy theory. It kept life interesting. It was just a shame other people got all grumpy about it and took what she said too seriously. If this girl wasn't of that group then she would totally approve of Grace's choice of girlfriend.

"Don't worry about it. I'm just a little sensitive. Parental pressure and all that rubbish." She nodded. "Of course. They need a little chaos in their lives." Now wasn't that a good thing. Grace had a girlfriend who was willing to go along with not warning her what her favourite older sister was planning. "Yes. Oh and dad did not like any of them. Well boo to him. You know something? I think the both of us are getting good at this balance thing. Now I think we should go back down to the ground before we jinx ourselves."

Tamara laughed and shook her head. “Oh, please with the current winning streak that Montagnard has kept up, Bowen is clearly more supportive of your house.” She teased. Tamara wasn’t one to buy into the house rivalry. The houses, to her, were a way split people up who were of similar-ish personalities/dispositions. The rivalry was just silly.

“Oh, okay.” She nodded. “I understand, my mother started putting pressure on me last year.” She wrinkled her nose. That wasn’t very fun. She laughed, hopefully Grace wouldn’t get too upset with whatever Fiona was planning. “That’s a shame.” Tamara nodded to her last statement and started her descend to the ground.

"So you think she's turning a blind eye to all our fouls?" Fiona joked. Now there was another one to add to the list of conspiracy theories surrounding Montagnard's success. Of course no-one actually had fouled. "I promise it wasn't me. I was too busy keeping my eyes shut and getting hit in the head with quaffles and snitches. Ain't I lucky it hasn't been a bludger." Thinking of that possibility sobered Fiona a little bit. She hadn't thought of that in her efforts to not look.

"Already?" Fiona asked, "but weren't you only a fourth year last year? Boy and I thought my dad was bad." Granted he still nagged her over her passing grades. Just passing by the skin of her teeth granted but it still led into a lecture on the expense of educating three daughters.

"Oh wonderful ground." Fiona knelt one grass and patted it. Only an odd moment of common sense held her back from kissing it. She stood and brushed grass of her knees. "Thanks for the help. Now...ouch." She rubbed her head where the quaffle dropped out of the sky onto it.
