Not Choosing a Wand Empty Not Choosing a Wand

Christine was finally onto the shop she had wanted to enter ever since she learnt the truth about Stephanie's pointing stick. She had yet to see her sister actually use it but that was because, as Stephanie had explained, they were not allowed to use their wands outside of Beauxbatons grounds. Christine thought that was highly unfair but what could one do when the people around her did not acknowledge that one set of rules should apply to her and a different set to everyone else. It really was extremely difficult to be a princess in disguise waiting until that glorious day when all will be revealed.

Right now though she had a wand to buy and she'd entered the shop under the belief that her sister was wrong about the wand choosing her. A belief which was soon found to be wrong. "Are you sure that I cannot just choose the prettiest wand?" she asked and scowled when the shop keeper assured her that was the case. She was then told to hold out her wand arm to which she returned a blank look. "Why did not you not say so," she grumbled when asked which arm she wrote with and held out her right arm.

The eleven year old was getting really impatient now as the shopkeeper wrote down the numbers the measuring tape which moved of its own accord had given her. Finally they were onto the wand which in the end turned out to be the fifth wand she was given. Silver lime wood, with a veela hair core, ten inches and quite bendy. A very pretty wand. Just like you wanted. The witch smiled down at the girl as she also told her the price. Christine returned the smile graciously and handed over some odd coins with no idea as to which was which but she was sure this lady would tell her if it was not enough. Finally, with some change given and the box holding her precious wand was in hand Christine was out the door. Christine was not sure if the wand really was pretty but she no longer cared because all she could remember is how it felt when she held it in her hand.
