All I Want For Christmas

Break was almost upon them and Sawyer wanted to get his gift to Adela before leaving, mostly because he didn't trust his siblings not break the gift over break. Since it was so close to break most of the students had already left for their homes but Sawyer knew for a fact that Adela was still around as Payton surely would have said something if she was gone already. He had asked her if they could do the present exchange at breakfast the day before he was supposed to leave, that morning the tables were very empty so it was even easier to spot the girl. He strode over with a smile and sat next to her with his back to the table. "Hey there long time no see. My dear brother has been hiding your beauty from me." He said with a smirk lightly moving a hair from in front of her face.

"Anyways I've got you something and thought it safer to give you it now." He said placing the wrapped box on the table and turned around to sit properly on the bench now. "Hope it's alright." He said with a softer smile. He had actually put thought into this present since it was the only one he was getting for someone no in his family and he wanted Adela to know that he cared about her as well not just Payton.

Adela sat down at the Montagnard table and waited for her friend, Sawyer. She examined her gift to him to make sure it looked perfect. After fluffing the bow up a little, it was. The girl was very proud of her gift. She had worked really hard on it and even made the bow on top herself. Hopefully Sawyer would like it. They had decided to exchange gifts before leaving for winter break, since they wouldn't see each other over break and didn't want to risk waiting until after it was over. Sammy, Adela's pygmy puff, jumped down off of her shoulder and started bouncing on the box. She was just as excited for Sawyer to see his gift as Adela was. The girl laughed. "Be careful or you might break it." Sammy stepped off of the box and onto the table and began bouncing again.

"Ah there you. What took you so long? Wait, let me guess." Adela used the most posh voice she could. "You took a while to get ready because you just had to look perfect being in my presence," she said fancily. Her and Sawyer always enjoyed joking around with each other. "Oh Sawyer, you're so charming," she teased. The girl set the present down in front of her friend. "I hope you like it," she smiled. "Open yours first." Sammy climbed up the boy's arm and sat on his shoulder, waiting for his reaction to the gift. Adela chuckled, "Sammy helped me pick out the wrapping paper and ribbon for the bow. She's waiting to see if you like her choices."

Sawyer rolled his eyes dramatically at Adela's first words. "Wow aren't you full of yourself love, obviously I always look perfect so I wasn't taking forever on that. I'm late because this one kept trying to trip me." He said picking the giant, ball of chocolate colored fluff off the ground and put it on the bench. "Thanks I try my best to be my most charming around you my dear." He said with a crocked smile. He wasn't sure when he started deciding to teasingly flirt with Adela after Payton and her were official but she seemed to go along with it nicely. It sure did make finding her a present harder, his twin dating her and all, he was expected to get her something nice but as her friend he wanted to get her something nice as well, but not nicer than Payton's as to make him look bad. He knew that his brother had gotten the girl a necklace so Sawyer decided to go with something less formal.

He grabbed the box Adela offered and carefully pulled the bow off. Inside the teen found a beautiful painting of himself. The Montagnard stared at it for a moment taking in all the perfect brush strokes. "Damn girl, you painted this?" He asked with a small smile. "Only someone as beautiful as you could create something equally as beautiful." He said with a wink. "I love it thanks." He said sincerely. "Your turn." He told her pushing his box closer.

"I'm glad you like your gift. Wait until you hear the story behind it. You may just like the story more than the painting. I'll tell it to you after opening my gift." Adela picked up the present that Sawyer had given to her. "I think you'll get a kick out of it." She shook the box lightly, trying to figure out what it was without breaking it if it was fragile. She wasn't sure why she did this, it's not like you can ever really tell what something is by shaking its box. "Is it a puppy!?" She teased excitedly. Finally, the girl opened the box and pulled out the blue glasses that were inside. "Awesome, now we can match." She placed the glasses over her eyes. "What do you think, am I hipster enough yet? But seriously, I love them. Thank you." Adela gave her friend a playful hit on the shoulder.

"Okay, so the story behind your present. I probably could have done a pretty good job painting it on my own, but that wouldn't be very much fun now would it? So, I made your brother model for me. I just payed attention to all the differences between you two and made sure to put them in the picture. Here's the part you'll like. I made him sit still for three hours, just sitting there and smiling. I may have extended the time it took to finish it because it was so funny." Adela put her index finger up to her lips, as if to say, 'don't tell him.' "By the time I was done Pay looked like his cheeks were going to fall right off his face. I thought he would have his face stuck like that for the rest of his life! Finally I felt bad and let him go. Pretty funny though, right?"
