Not My Cup of Tea

Not My Cup of Tea Empty Not My Cup of Tea

Osmund had managed to escape the overbearing watch of Helena and was now on his own. Yet, as the woman took her own sweet time eating lunch, something Osmund took care to do before he left the house that morning, the boy had found himself with an abundance of time and without a shopping list to go off on. Helena had done this on purpose, Osmund concluded. By with-holding the list from him, he was stuck with waiting in the pub until she deemed it time to leave.

There is no point in going parched, Osmund concluded, walking up towards the counter and resting his elbows on it. "One tea, unsweetened," Osmund ordered, leaving his 'p's' and 'q's' at the door. He waited as the waiter walked away to fix his order and tapped his foot impatiently, looking around. A girl, who had probably just ordered as well, stood nearby. Osmund avoided contact, not wanting to speak to her.

'Here you go.'

Osmund accepted the glass and looked down at it in displeasure. "This is not what I ordered." Osmund said, placing the butterbeer on the counter. "I ordered tea. Are you blind? Does this look like tea?" However, Osmund's rude personality earned him a shrug off, as the waiter then walked away, leaving him to his own devices.

Not My Cup of Tea Empty Re: Not My Cup of Tea

She still had no idea what really was going on, all she knew was that she had been ordered by her older sister to stay in the pub and look after her youngest brother which was easier said then done as she glanced ever so often over to the other end of the pub to the eight year old just to make sure he was not dying or in some sort of trouble that would get her kicked out.

Seeing that he was harmlessly wandering she looked back to her table. Having ordered one of those so called Butterbeers she guessed that she kind of had to try one at the very least after all, she had seen so many to be first years wandering into the pub and order one that she really wanted to know what all the fuss was about as she smiled a huge innocent grin to the waiter as she watched him drawn closer with a drink.

"Than.... Wait a second!" she quickly yelled after the waiter who backed away? She had seen butterbeer and its colour before in others glasses and she knew exactly that he had given her tea! With a shouting from her side she swirled around on her seat. "No but this does!" she answered his question as she glanced towards the boy.

As if the idiocy that the waiter possessed wasn't enough, next some girl was talking to him. The boy looked down skeptically at her drink, steaming hot and smelling like tea, and then met her eyes again. "Why yes...that would be tea," Osmund replied, sounding disinterested. At least someone knew tea when they saw it, but the boy hadn't made much of a connection as to why she was talking to him and went after the waiter instead.

The boy found himself soon lost in a crowd among people. He couldn't pick out the man that had served him and cursed beneath his breath. "The bloody peasant lucked out," He grumbled and went back to where he started. The cause was a lost one and holding the butterbeer in his hand, the boy scoffed at it.

"These things are always too sweet for my taste," Osmund grumbled, placing down the drink on the table and pushing it away. "I don't even want this rubbish!" Osmund turned his nose up at it and then turned to face the girl from before. "You can have it, if you want. I have no use for it!"

Teddy was used to a lot of different personalities after all, she did live day after day with so many people that not all of them would be the most cooperative and talkative as some others. So the tone of the lad was not at all off putting or anything that would have stopped her talking to him. "Why yes..." she copied his exact tone as she continued "But i ordered butterbeer" she smiled to him.

Raising an eyebrow at the lad at his choice of words she hadn't ever heard someone use them words against someone before. It made her chuckle under her breath on the fact that the wizarding world seemed more old fashioned in status views than anything while the muggle world wasn't as bothered in them terms.

With his words she smirked again "Well i have no use for this, its to plain" she responded as she passed the lad the cup of tea whilst she picked up the butterbeer. "So you going to this school then?" she asked quickly "I heard the uniform is all in blue?"

The boy through a skeptical glance over the tea pushed towards him. He was starting to catch onto a hint that she was mimicking him, even taking care to speak in the same tones. He didn't trust her, but then again, she had said that she had ordered a butterbeer, rather than a tea and he had it happen to him in the opposite, so maybe their orders were really flipped and this would complete the action of making things right.

taking a whiff of the tea, he determined that everything seemed alright and took a small sip. Surely enough it was tea and it was unsweetened. He was feeling dandy at the point to turn away and drink his tea on his own, but the girl was persistent in conversation. "No, I'm going to Durmstrang but made a wrong turn," Osmund replied, sarcastically and let his eyes roll in his head before taking another sip of tea. "Would it matter if it were a different colour?" He responded. Perhaps blue was the girl's favourite colour, but even if it was, it was a uniform to be worn whether students liked it or not, so really, colours shouldn't matter.

With the boy's sarcasm becoming more bold she only smiled to him "Very funny" she commented briefly as he kind of reminded her of one of her older brothers, Daryl mostly. Shrugging to the question she guessed it didn't matter that much of the colour after all Teddy didn't mind blue as she wasn't that girly to begin with so she was glad that it just was not pink.

Taking a drink from the butterbeer she looked to the boy, looking away she could not help but look back to him. "I'm Teddy by the way."
