Cerisier vs. Montagnard; round III Empty Cerisier vs. Montagnard; round III

Post by Professor Bowen Fri Sep 27, 2013 3:07 pm

There was much that Professor Bowen could handle before getting upset. The vandalism of the Quidditch pitch, when it was turned blue and even when it was changed into landscapes corresponding with each teams signature emblem, she had passed off as mere team spirit and hardly found it detrimental to the game. However, whoever let a bunch of blast ended skrewts roam free on the bottom of the pitch was going to get an earful from her. She suspected it was Professor St. Pierre, Beauxbatons most eccentric Care of Magical Creatures teacher, for he had the means and the motive that he thought it would be either great fun or a statement that Quidditch could do with less funding and be used elsewhere. Nonetheless, there was no time to clear the pitch of the fire blasting fiends and, as she always told herself, the game must go on.

Forgetting about the disaster awaiting the teams, she offered her infamous smile to the players. "Both Montagnard and Cerisier have already obtained a single win, so much rests on this game. This final game will determine who shall win the Quidditch cup for this year. Good luck to both teams!" She motioned with her hands for the quidditch teams to carry on out, wondering how they would react to the challenge set before them, and then flew up to her usual spot. She ignored the skrewts down below and tossed up the quaffle, signifying the game's start.

The Announcers for this game are Caleb Miller and Linette Puchard.
Game ends on October 4 at around 11pm EST

This was going to be a great game, Caleb could feel it. Both teams had previously won and this was the game to settle who got the cup this year. If things weren't interesting enough, someone had let skrewts onto the pitch. They would just have to play with them on the field. "Hello quidditch fans! Today is the final game of this year. This game is going to be intense, this game decides who gets the cup this year. I'm sure both teams will do their best and take the game seriously."

"Montagnard won the first game, Cerisier won the second. Its anybody's game today. I'm sure both teams want the cup this year. So good luck the both!" This game was going to be intense and Caleb had one of the best seats in the house

It wasn't anybody's game, Quentin thought, it would be Cerisier's. Sure they went through a pretty rough patch and their captain suffered greatly because of it, but with the win they obtained last match, Quentin obtained a new confidence. Who cared if the pitch was swarmed with blast ended skrewts? They had already played in the freezing cold and many other terrains. He figured he was well prepared.

It helped not to look down and Quentin was succeeding in doing that, whizzing around to catch the quaffle and volley it around with the other chasers. Montagnard was probably too scared of some fire spitting crustaceans to stop them and when Quentin flung the quaffle through the hoop, he couldn't help but turn to Marie-Laure and stick out his tongue at her. "How's that for being a chaser! Top that!" He challenged.

Linette was pleased Caleb had followed the advice she'd given the previous year and joined her on the announcing team. Even with his admission he didn't like sport at the last SOP meeting didn't put off her enjoyment of having this second year Montagnard in the announcing booth with herself. It just made it all the more interesting.

"That's right Caleb. Whoever wins this game wins the cup. Personally my money's on Cerisier. They may have had a small losing streak but Captain D'Angelo must have whipped them back into shape hence last match's win." And wasn't that a shame she hadn't been there to announce. She was here this time and she was going to go and have fun with it.

She leaned forward to have a better look at the ground and her eyebrows rose. "Anyone notice a few extras on the pitch down there? I wonder what they'll do to the grass. Players it's a good thing you'll be up in the air but watch out for the landing later. You wouldn't want to put a foot on one of those things."

"And yes. D'Angelo the younger has managed to score the first goal of the match. Sounds and looks like he's thrown a challenge Sylvian's way. Let's see if she and her fellow chasers can do as he challenges them to." She rubbed her hands together relishing the little team rivalries she was hoping would pop up all over the place.

The lack of snow meant no more snowball fights between players who had no business playing games in the middle of a match. Marie-Laure hated the fact their team lost their last match. If their seeker hadn't played around with the snow then maybe they would have won. She shot a look toward the captain and waited to hear what words of wisdom he would give this time. Please no more lies of encouragement. That did not work.

The wizarding world was full of weird things and these ugly looking creatures attacking the pitch was yet another one. Something which she didn't think would be much of a problem when the players were in the air. Why did a pitch that wasn't used in the way a pitch for a muggle sport was used have grass? There was no time to dwell on that puzzle. It was time to play.

Marie-Laure pushed off the ground and was in a fight for possession of the quaffle and lost. Her exasperation was compounded by Quentin's behaviour after he scored the first goal of the match. "Don't be so childish," she called back. "That's only one goal." She would show him who the better chaser was.

Cerisier vs. Montagnard; round III Empty Re: Cerisier vs. Montagnard; round III

Post by Osmund Hollow Tue Oct 01, 2013 7:07 pm

Osmund was baffled by the state in which the pitch was in. This didn't seem to be any prank executed by a well-meaning member of one of the houses, hoping to show a little team spirit, this was potentially rather dangerous. Osmund had done his homework and knew quite a few facts about skrewts. For one thing, they ate lettuce and other vegetables. For another thing, they had quite a range when they get provoked and decide to use their defense mechanism of spitting a firey substance at potential threats. However, these skrewts were far too small in size to be considered adults. That made things just slightly less intimidating.

"I hope you have all paid attention in Care of Magical Creatures class," Osmund noted, turning to his team after gaping at the skrewts. To those who were too young to take that class, that was a pity, for knowledge about the creatures or not, they were scattered across the pit. "You don't need me to tell you how much winning this game means. So get it done," He said, a bit tired. "No more distractions. Your personal lives should stay out of this," he noted, rubbing his temples. "And absolutely no child's play!" He said with a tone slathered in annoyance. He looked towards Payton and figured that was enough singling people out. But if Osmund found that little things were distracting his seeker from catching the snitch, it might be fine time to let said seeker go.

Once in the air, Osmund couldn't help but look nervously down at the skrewts. They crawled across the pitch in leisure, but he knew that would only last for so long. Just as he had thought, once stimulation came to the skrewts (coming in the form of the goal post ringing out, thanks to the blue haired D'Angelo), the skrewts started to get irritated. He watched as a patch of the pitch lit on fire and swallowed hard as he knew that that could've been him.

After Payton had thrown the snowball, he regretted it. It seemed like some people blamed their loss on that snowball. But Payton didn't think so, Louise just got lucky. But today he was going to be on his game, he wasn't about to get yelled at again. Plus, he was singled out in front of the whole team. That wasn't about to happen again unless it was about something good. He wasn't and didn't want to get yelled at again.

He sighed, his mood was going down hill. But he had to push that aside, he had to get focused. It was hard for him to stay focused lately, he wasn't sure why though. Nothing dramatic had changed in his life, so why was he not focusing? If things weren't bad enough, there were visitors on the pitch.

Payton kicked off the ground and was focused on the game and finding the snitch. "Let's do this," Payton said to himself. This was no time to be childish He tossed a look at Louise, challenging her a bit. He was ready for this.

Charon was more pumped than he'd ever been before. Bring it on, Marie-Laure. He thought. Charon felt like he could take on the world in a fight and win. It was such a nice change from before, he was so done with being moody and gloomy. He was going to win the quidditch cup today, and he was going to make his real parent, his mother, proud. He was also going to invite Louise to hangout with him this summer because as fast as he'd gotten close to his girlfriend, they'd quickly broken up, but how much can you expect from a thirteen year old couple? He would be thrilled to take Louise to his mum's beach house and goof off and have fun for a bit this summer. He thought about all this on the way to the pitch then stopped dead in his tracks upon seeing the little fire vermin littering the pitch. He just grinned, apparently it was going to be Charon versus the world today, well too bad for the world today is Charon's day. He took off on his broom flying to his home on the pitch as keeper.

It looked like the entire Cerisier team was in renewed spirits from their win last time and they had all probably had time to work out any of their personal issues that had been eating at them. Or at least Christian hoped they had all worked it out, especially better than he did. Person interference aside it seemed as if everyone was at least focused on the game today and that was all that matter because quite frankly there was only one person on his team whose personal life he cared about in the slightest. "Alright team one win is not going to save you if you lose this game today. This is for the cup and I know you all have it in you so lets show these Montagnards what we're made of!" He said enthusiastically hoping to motivate the young players to do their best.

The little skrewts on the ground were probably going to prove to be a problem, but that was a problem for later Christian decided. For now scoring as soon s possible and as much as possible was the most important thing on his mind. He smiled proudly when his little cousin scored the first point after some volleying from the Cerisier chasers. "Way to go Quinn, but keep your head in the game!" He called over to the boy noting the yelling he was doing to the second year chaser on the opposing team. After some more volleying between chasers Christian got the quaffle and a clear shot at the right post where he threw the ball easily. With every ding from the goal post a skrewt set a patch of grass on fire. While he knew they had to get the score up to win he was a bit worried that there would be no place to land by the end.

"Keep it up Winthrop!" The captain yelled up to his keeper when Montagnards attempt at scoring failed and he had the quaffle again. "Puchard stay sharp!" He yelled over to his seeker as he flew by her on his way to keep up with the other chasers who were passing the ball down the field keeping it out of the hands of anyone in red and purple.

"Hollow is really getting into his team this time. Can't say I blame him after the snowball fight of the last game. Yes that's right. You may not have heard my voice but I was watching you Johnson and Winthrop." Though really she had been quite happy about it because that had obviously given Louise the advantage over the Montagnard seeker.

"This game is going very very slowly," Linette said in a slow voice. She sped up her speaking with her next sentence and shouted, "come on you lot. Score a little more." She yawned loudly into the microphone and moved her elbow to nudge Caleb. "Make sure my co-announcer can find a reason to stay awake will you."

She banged the table. "Finally. Yes. Our dear Captain D'Angelo has scored. Way to go Christian. That brings the scores to twenty to Cerisier and zero to Montagnard. Sometimes I wonder if Montoya has any idea how to keep that quaffle out of her goal."

The scores were in Cerisier's favour and Marie-Laure did not wish to be reminded of that fact from those announcers up in the announcing booth. Her captain could do it but not them. She gritted her teeth at the way she'd failed to get her hands on that quaffle. How could she possibly prove to D'Angelo that she was the better chaser without being able to get a hold of it?

The witch watched and waited for her moment. One of the other Montagnard chasers finally had hold of the quaffle and threw it toward her. Marie-Laure caught it with ease and finally the next score on the board was for Montagnard. "I'm gonna prove to you Quinn D'Angelo just how much better than you I am," she threw out at her opposing chaser.

The commentator was right; this game was going about as slowly as the blast ended skrewts crawling on the ground. Why? It seemed nearly impossible for either team to keep the quaffle in their presence. As soon as he obtained the quaffle, he volleyed it on to the next chaser and suddenly it would be intercepted and the same would happen to Montagnard team. Fortunately, Cerisier had two goals on Montagnard, that was until his little challenge with Marie-Laure only encouraged her to make a goal of her own.

He wasn't going to allow that to pass. If he was going to prove to her that he was the better chaser, then he needed Cerisier to win by a lot more points than Montagnard.

After getting the quaffle back into his possession, Quentin called out to one of his fellow chasers. "Hey! Follow my lead!" He dashed towards the other triad of goals and then passed the quaffle on. The two of them volleyed the quaffle back and forth and when they came close enough to the goal post, Quentin threw the quaffle in, quickly recollected the quaffle, passed it to his fellow chaser and allowed them to make a goal as well. "Two goals, right after each other," Quentin bragged and mockingly dusted off his hands.

Today was going to be a good day, at least that's what Paige thought until she got out on the pitch and saw the numerous amount of crab creatures on the grass. Not only were they just there in the way but they spewed fire, onto their all grass pitch. Those two things simply didn't go well together and Paige's hopes of a good game seemed to be dying with every second she was out there with those things. She wasn't about to let them affect her performance today though, so with that positive thought ahe took off into the air. She started whacking as many bludgers as she could get near, which unfortunatly wasn't that many. It seemed the Cerisier beaters decided to actually play this game instead of watch from the side lines. That wasn't exactly a good thing to Paige but she wasn't about to throw in the towel just yet.

She was proud to say a lot of the switching hands the quaffle was doing was partially due to the bludgers she sent towards the blue and green players. The hard speeding balls made for a good distraction, yet somehow the Cerisier chasers were still scoring way more than they were.

Montagnard was losing badly, they were so far behind. "Come on guys!" Payton cheered. "We can do it!" Things weren't going Montagnard's way at all. It was up to Payton to catch the snitch, if he could. It seemed like all the good luck was going towards Cerisier.

The snitch was no where in sight and Payton's guard was raised. Not only did he have to worry about Louise, he also had to worry about the not so friendly visitors at the bottom of the pitch. If he wasn't careful, he was sure to get hurt from the fire spitting creatures.

Finally, things were going Montagnard's way when they scored for the second time that game. The sound of the goal made their visitors unhappy and they began to spit fire once again. "Someone's gonna get hurt," Payton muttered. Hopefully this game ended soon so no one ended up getting burnt.

This match wasn't as interesting as Caleb hoped it would be. It was actually really boring, Caleb was almost at the point of falling asleep. Until Linette said had said something about the second year. He sat up straight, letting out a yawn as he did. "Cerisier scores again. And I'm awake, for now." It was defiantly the game that was making him so tired and bored.

He wished something interesting would happen the the fire spitting friends on the field. But no one got close enough to them for anything to happen. Caleb didn't want anyone to get burned, but it would bring more action to the game. "Montagnard scores," Caleb said more cheerfully, trying to sound more awake than he actually was. "I think the crowd needs more entertainment and excitement."

Post by Osmund Hollow Fri Oct 04, 2013 2:36 pm

Osmund was trying his hardest to knock the quaffle out of the opponents hand as soon as it came to them. However, no sooner did he give the quaffle back to his own team did his team lose the quaffle once more. "C'mon guys! What are your hands all slippery from sweat!?" He'd give them all a good reason to sweat if they kept up with their ludicrous playing.

Every now and then, Osmund was reminded of the unfriendly spectators on the ground when one or a small group would get irritated and spit out a bit of fire, though Osmund was convinced they sometimes did it just for fun as well. He lost concern for them after awhile, focused on trying to prevent Cerisier's score from improving so Montagnard could catch up. It wasn't until he felt an unfamiliar pain on his arm that he realized how low he was flying and it took a few moments, in which his brain went through a process of noticing the discomfort, wondering what caused it and then full on realization that he was, indeed, on fire.

Swerving on his broom a bit, Osmund tried to pat out the fire himself, but his sleeve was slowly being devoured by the flame of the blast ended skrewt. Tears came to his eyes from the pain as he ungracefully returned to the ground and dropped to a patch of skrewt free grass to quench the flame.

Cerisier was finally starting to do well in quidditch and Christian was determined to keep it that way. He absolutely hated having to rely on the seeker to win or lose the game for the whole team. The only way to solve that problem was simply to score enough goals that even if the other team gets the added 150 points they would still win. Obviously this was no easy feat to accomplish but he didn't care how easy or hard it was. After his cousin scored a goal they moved it to the other chaser who scored right after and soon after that Christian scored a goal too.

Christian was too busy trying to score as many goals as possible that he didn't even notice his best mate catching fire and going down. Finally he noticed the absence of a Montagnard beater and looked around to find him. This cost him the quaffle when one of his chasers threw it to him and he didn't pay enough attention to catch it. Montagnard scored on that quaffle but Christian came back with a vengeance and scored a goal of his own.

Paige was trying her hardest she really was, but she felt like no matter what she did she couldn't get her team ahead. She was knocking bludgers away from her teammates and towards the other team as fast as she possibly could, but every time she got her team the quaffle they lost it soon after. While she was flying around trying to spot another bludger to hit the small girl noticed a slightly flaming figure near the grass, they were wearing purple and red. Upon closer examination she learned it was none other than her captain who fell in the grass.

She felt the pressure now with her being the only beater on the pitch for her team. She felt out numbered and they were already doing poorly but now it was up to her. Without her captain there she knew that she'd have to play twice as hard as not to let him down. Once she got near a bludger Paige whacked it towards the closest person in green and blue, this one is for Osmund she thought as she watched it make contact with the players back and see them fall. She saw the bat fall with them and she realized she just evened the field with the number of beaters. Not that it mattered when the whistle blew and Payton didn't have the snitch.

Charon had been on his game all day and thankfully the beaters were too. With each Cerisier score he felt more and more comfortable in net which led to a few nice saves on his part. When he saw the Montagnard beater fall he bit his lip and tightened his grip on his broom just a little more. He was lucky that Paige hadn't annihilated him yet this year. That girl was murderous with a bludger. She'd put him in the infirmary with broken ribs last year and he wasn't too keen on repeating that. Then a whistle broke his train of thought, when he looked up his heart pounded in his chest. Louise had the snitch! He pumped his fist in the air and grinned broadly.
