On a Hot Day Empty On a Hot Day

Post by Quentin D'Angelo Sun Sep 08, 2013 7:54 pm

The day was too hot for Quentin's taste. Not that he despised the warm weather or anything, he just wasn't too keen on the idea of being stuck in his hardly breathable school uniform all day, sweating during classes. He couldn't wait until classes were over for the day so he could cool off for a little bit. After finding to his disappointment that there wasn't to be any ice cream for dinner, he turned to another source for cooling off.

The school had a lake right by it and though it wasn't as clean as a pool might be, it was something nonetheless and finally Quentin was going to put to use the swim trunks he had packed for one reason or another. He had made his way down to the lake and wasted no time in jumping into the water, the water a bit chilly but feeling very refreshing given how much he had been sweating that day.

He paddled around for a bit, even dunking his blue head beneath the surface and getting his hair wet before he decided something about his decision; it was awfully boring by his lonesome. He should've invited someone. Perhaps Caleb, his best friend, or Chris, for Merlin knew how much that boy needed to get out and play more. Even having his kid sister around would've been more entertaining, but Quentin wasn't going to get out just to find a playmate. He frowned slightly as he bobbed in the water until much to his luck, he spotted someone wearing water-appropriate clothes by the lake. He sent a small wave towards her to catch her attention. "Hey! Come on in! The water feels amazing!" He called out to her, vaguely recognizing her from his classes and from Quidditch.

On a Hot Day Empty Re: On a Hot Day

Today was one of the hottest days in the entire history of hot days in France, Paige was sure of it. Perhaps she was being a little bit over dramatic but she truly felt as if she was going to melt. Classes seemed to drag by, the professors seemed to breathe fire everytime they opened their mouths to teach, and every student she was near seemed like a burning hot coal that kept closing in on her to melt her. She felt like a piece of chocolate on the window sill in the sun. She knew that whenever her chocolate started to melt she would put it in the freezer, but what was close to a freezer for a person. That's when it hit her, the large lake sitting right next to the school that was so bright it was called 'silver lake' looked just like it was frozen over all the time.

With her mind made up she ran up to her dorm the minute her last class was over. She was ever so grateful that her mother insist she bring her swimsuit this year cause it was supposed to be a hot year. Boy was she right. The small blonde quickly dressed in her bright red bikini and grabbed a towl which he wrappecd around herself before running out of the palace. Until a passing professor yelled at her, then she changed to a fast walk. Once she neared the lake she noticed it wasn't as busy as she thought it would be, and considered going back inside to find Xavior or Charon. It was too late now though, outside in the sun she realized how hot it really was and decided to go in alone.

She threw her towel across a branch of a nearby tree and headed to a shallow bank of the lake. Before she actually got in someone from the water yelled at her. She smiled, already knowing the water would feel great but happy that there was someone else, even if she didn't know them. She immediatly jumped into the water emerging her whole body before resurfacing much farther out. She swam over to the boy that had called to her, happy to feel the cold water around her. "Hey there." She said with a cheerful smile. "Hey you're one of those D'Angelo chasers aren't you?" She said upon seeing him up close. She remembered hitting a dozen bludgers or so at the blue haired boy, hoping he didn't hold that against her.

On a Hot Day Empty Re: On a Hot Day

The blue haired boy turned to float on his back as he returned a cheery grin back at the girl. Now he recognized her. Not only was she in the same year as he was, she was also the other beater for the enemy. At least she was the nicer of the two, though. Quentin would sooner swim with a shark than swim with the scary Montagnard beater.

"Is that what they call us now?" Quinn replied, grinning as she mentioned him along with his cousin. He always liked being considered family with Christian, even though the boy was a bit of a grouch as of late. He sti admired the boy greatly, however, and wants to be as cool as him someday. "And you're the pretty beater," he replied, making a play on the way she refered to him.

It felt all the more better in the water, with the sun feeling not so bright on his water submerged shoulders. "Did you come here to talk or did you come here to play?" He could think of a few pretty decent games to play in the water if she wanted to. All she had to do was say the word.
