Post by Professor Bowen Thu Sep 19, 2013 5:43 pm

Professor Bowen thought that anytime was a good time for a quidditch match, and even she was a bit concerned for the weather for the match. When she walked outside of the large front doors of the palace she found herself sinking. There was at least two feet of snow on the grass this morning. Finally she made it to the pitch and found that it was covered with just as much snow and thought it would be interesting to see how that changed things today, if it did at all. The sun was out making the snow almost blinding for her to simply stand on, it would be worse for anyone looking down at it.

While there was a ridiculous amount of snow on the ground that wasn't slowing anyone down. This was just even more proof that everyone loved quidditch. Most of them were wet up to their knees or higher from their trip from the palace down, but they were still there not letting the snow stop them from seeing the game. The aged quidditch fanatic's heart warmed at the sight of full stands on this nasty day. She smiled at the teams as they came out and went over the usually beginning stuff before blowing the whistle and releasing the balls.

The Announcers for this game are Caleb Miller and Rene Pendlebrook.
Game ends on September 27 at around 11pm EST

It was a snowy day, a yucky day. Caleb liked it better when it was warm outside, but snow was fun too. He was sure it was going to be a good game, a challenging game. He was nervous because it was his first game, at least he wasn't alone. This was going to be interesting and he was glad he got to announce for this game. He sat down in a seat and got close to the magical microphone. "Hello everyone! Welcome to the second game of the quiditch season! I'm Caleb Miller and I'm joined with Rene who you met in the previous game. I'm super excited to see how this game plays out with all the snow. Its going to be a challenge!"

"Maybe Captain D'Angelo can win this match, maybe Montagnard will continue their winning streak. We'll see! Good luck to both teams! Have fun!" The game was unfolding and Caleb was on the his seat.

With the snow so deep Marie-Laure was worried that she would not be able to push herself off the ground with ease. Would her broom pull her out of the icy-cold white powder? If it didn't that was going to cause problems. She held her broom up higher as she slowly moved through the two feet of snow down to the pitch. Now came the hard part but somehow someway she was hovering up in the air waiting for the match to begin.

The whistle had blown and the balls released. Marie-Laure flew toward the red one. She would catch it. She would score first. She had to. She almost fell off her broom when she heard Caleb's familiar voice fill the pitch. Marie-Laure lost sight of the quaffle as she turned her head toward the announcer's stand. He was announcing now? How had she missed that little piece of vital information? Even better was no biased Cerisier announcer. Marie-Laure suddenly recalled what it was she was supposed to do and grumbled to herself as she had to relocate the quaffle and the current possessor of it. That was why announcers were a bad idea.

Payton hated snow, it was too cold and wet. This was going to be a game that he wasn't going to enjoy. But he had to keep up with his cheery self. "Don't let the snow get to you," he said more to himeself than the rest of the team. Once the whistle was blown, Payton was off the ground. This game was going to be difficult. How was he supposed to find the snitch in all this snow?

The game was unfolding and Cerisier was the first to score. "Nuts,' Payton muttered. "Come on team! We can do it!" He was going to cheer on his team no matter what, even if they didn't perform as well as they did the last games.

With a thick-knit cap accompanying him along with his usual Quidditch uniform, Quentin was ready to take on the new game. He hadn't liked the speech that Christian had given him and the Cerisier team after their first game of the year and was inspired since then to push himself harder at every practice. He wouldn't let it happen again that Cerisier only managed to get two goals, since that was mostly his responsibility.

He wasn't going to let the snow get in his way and started the game out strong, flying quickly and snatching the quaffle up to send it flying through the hoop. "How's that for a turn of events!" He cheered to himself. They were starting off far better than Montagnard and Quentin was going to make sure that it stayed that way, even if the snow whipping against his face was starting to get noticeable and he lost feeling of his nose.

Louise felt a little bit better about this game...she really had taken into consideration the whole speech that the captain had given them. She had really been slacking off the game before...all she could think about was how Charon had gotten a girlfriend and just left their friendship in the dust. It wasn't that she didn't like Charon, it was just....she didn't really know, but she couldn't worry herself with the stupid boy trouble. She had to get her head in the game and catch that snitch. She wasn't about to left Payton beat her in another game. He couldn't. She wouldn't let it happen, she was too determined.

Annaliese rolled her eyes as she flew into the air for their second game. Montgnard, had seriously improved, she thought with everything. They seemed to work better as a team and everyone seemed genuinely happier. She knew this game was going to be a little difficult considering the whole aspect of the weather. She never really cared for the cold weather, but it was just another part of Quidditch.

As the game continued on she narrowed her eyes a little bit, she had to get her head in the game. Cerisier had already scored two goals and was on their way to a third, but she wasn't about to let them score again. Blocking their next shot, she heard the ring of points being scored. Montagnard was catching up. "Watch out Cerisier." She chuckled to herself.

Charon felt so much better, and the snow just topped it off. He loved snow, he loved winter, and he was happy. After Paige screwed his head back on straight everything started to look up. He got a girlfriend, Macy, she was....rude and self-centered, but at least he was able to hold hands with someone. Plus, he was starting to rebuild his friendship with Louise. His dad had written him a letter and Charon responded by promptly telling him to screw himself silly. He didn't need that loser, he had a great mother. The world was a great place and Charon was a happy young man.

Cerisier vs Montagnard: Round II Empty Re: Cerisier vs Montagnard: Round II

Post by Osmund Hollow Mon Sep 23, 2013 7:37 pm

Osmund was freezing when he had woken up that morning and discovered far before when he had made it to the pitch that the world outside was more of a heavy snowfall than just a decent winter wonderland. He sighed at the misfortune of the weather, but at least the pitch wasn't shaped like anything weird this time.

Before they took off, Osmund wanted to talk to his team. He stopped in front of them and gave them a sober look and then raised a single hand with his thumb extended up and offered a smile. "Great job last game guys," He started. It wasn't often that he gave such praise. "You guys have been really working in practice as well. Keep up the good work." He could be nice and supportive when he wanted to and perhaps it was the winning streak that Montagnard had obtained that made it easier for the words to pass his lips. As he had promised, he was only going to praise them when they really deserved it.

The snowfall wasn't too bad. He was a bit colder than usual and his hands felt frozen, as they gripped his broomstick and his beater bat, but he was performing fine. He took out a ceriser beater and snickered at their incapability to defend themselves. They were, after all, a beater and should be able to do that. No wonder Chris was frustrated with his team. His beaters were hardly functional.

Marie-Laure didn't know what her captain was playing at but she hoped his strategy worked. It was true they did well in the last game but to praise them for a good practice? That did not sound like the Hollow she may not have grown to love but she had grown to respect. Well then. She would have to make sure she didn't let him down.

The scoring was not going well and Marie-Laure gritted her teeth as shook her head at the way the other two chasers seemed to keep the quaffle between themselves before losing it to Cerisier. Honestly. How many goals had she scored in the last game.

Finally Marie-Laure managed to get hold of the quaffle and bring the score up to more than Cerisier's. She flew off again eager to score more for her house when her eyes fell on one of the opposing team members. "D...Quentin," she shouted at the opposing chaser. "Think you can score more than me?"

"I'm very impressed with both teams, they're doing very well! Cerisier was the first to score and has been scoring ever since!" He meant to give Rene a chance to speak, but the boy was quiet. "You can talk too," he whispered, covering the magic microphone with his hand. "I don't mean to talk so much." He shrugged his shoulders and uncovered the microphone. "Quentin D'Angelo has sent a quaffle into the hoop, giving Cerisier ten more points."

"The score is tied, scratch that, Montagnard is now in the lead thanks to Marie-Laure Sylvian." The game was getting good and Caleb was still at the edge of his seat. "Anyone could win, the snitch is still up for grabs and it looks like both seekers are determinded to get it. Let's see how this works out."

Quinn was trying his best, and was somewhat succeeding, at doing better than he had last game. Christian had been right, their performance was ludicrous and the last thing Quentin wanted was for the rest of the school to think that about Cerisier team.

He and the other chasers were doing a better job at scoring goals, he, himself, managing to get the ball past the keeper nearly most of the time, but unfortunately, so was Montagnard. They were pretty even in score, but Quinn knew that wouldn't please Christian at all.

With a flash of red and purple, a Montagnard chaser pulled up beside him and when she started talking, Quentin recognized the freckled face. "Is that a challenge, Marie-Laure Sylvian?" He replied, grinning at the new motivation. The answer to her question; easily. Though maybe not as much as he had thought, for she suddenly had the quaffle and threw another one through the goal. Quentin quickly matched up the score difference with a goal of his own. Marie-Laure might've been better in potions and majority of classes than him, but he was going to be the better chaser.

The weather was getting colder and Payton still hadn't seen the snitch. Louise seemed to be on his tail and looked as determined as she possibly could. But that didn't mean Payton was going to let up. It was his job to catch the snitch and he was going to try to fulfill his job. He hated the cold weather and the snow was too white. The sun shined against the snow, making the snow shine bright.

A smirk formed on his face, he had the perfect idea. He flew down, close to the ground. He picked up some snow and made it into a ball. He flew back up and looked around. Who would be his victim? He eyes laid on a second year with curly hair, Charon. The boy that had gotten hurt in the previous games they had played. He smirked more, he aimed and threw. Maybe it would distract him enough for Montagnard to score. Payton went back to looking for the snitch, he believed that no one had seen him throw the ball of snow.

Because fate seems to despise Charon Winthrop he got a faceful of snow. He was pissed. What a bush league tactic by a bush league Montagnard team. The force of the icy snow hitting him in the face and eye just motivated him if anything. Montagnard would not outscore Cerisier before the snitch was caught. His vision flicked over to the direction of whatever bush league Montagnard player decided to be a complete and utter wuss by throwing it at him, he spied the seeker and smiled. Time to fight fire with fire....or snowballs with snowballs. On his way down to make a save Charon scooped up the dustiest snow he could find. And on his way back up he let it fall hopefully blanketing Johnson's vision.

This was the most entertaining game René had ever seen especially considering what he just witnessed with Payton and the Cerisier keeper Charon. It was great, the rivalry was great, the snow was great, the match was great, and this week's game, Caleb was pretty fun to hang around with too. "All the tricks are out now as Montagnard seeker Payton Johnson and Cerisier keeper Charon Winthrop attack each other with some blasts of aerial winter snow. Cerisier seeker Puchard appears to be hot on Johnson's tail, and it'll be interesting to see who will be the one to claim the snitch as their own."

Cerisier vs Montagnard: Round II Empty Re: Cerisier vs Montagnard: Round II

Christian hadn't let anyone know of his thoughts yet but they were still very much prevalent. After the pitiful game Cerisier had played last game, and the previous losses in a row Christian was starting to consider resigning as the captain of the team. Of course if he resigned as captain there would be no way he could stay on the team as a player either, one losing was still gonna be there even if he wasn't blamed for it, two there was no way in hell he was going to follow orders of anyone else on the team. Besides any new captain would probably have it out for him after that last speech, and the extra practices he was fond of giving. While those thoughts were still there Christian tried to ignore them and act like the captain he was, or had been, and get his team to win for once now. He had yet to actually score any points himself directly but he was making on hell of a quaffle mover. He would fly the quaffle from one end to the other as fast a possible before tossing it to either his cousin or the other chaser to score.

The teen flew down to the Cerisier goal posts to get the quaffle after Montagnard's score and saw his keeper, get this, throwing a snowball. "Bloody hell kid what are you doing?!" He yelled over to the child. "Merlin's beard, this is a quidditch match for crying out loud not a snowball fight. There will be time for that childest crap after we win!" He yelled over before quickly flying to catch up with the other chasers with quaffle. He got there just in time it seemed, the chaser was cornered and they tossed it to him to make the score. No one had seen his late catch up to block him so the score was way too easy.

Paige was so pumped for this match, even if there was a crazy amount of snow on the ground. She loved snow but multiple feet of snow was way too much. If just walking caused one to sink into the ground up to their knees, there was way too much snow. By the time she kicked off the ground, which she just barely did with the snow, the bottoms of her uniform was nastily wet. Maybe by the time the game was over the wing from all the flying around would dry it, just in time for her to land in the snow again and get them all wet again.

The blonde was knocking as many bludgers as she possibly could towards every player in blue and green she could find. None of them however were hitting anyone and she was starting to get frustrated that she could get nothing done even with all the effort she was putting in. Cerisier scored another goal making them ahead by two goals now and Paige was getting really angry.

Annaliese could feel the anger rising on not only her face, but that of her team mates as well. Who did these Ceriser's think they were. She gritted her teeth and quickly blocked the next shot thrown by the opposing team but the heard the goal ring again, Whilst she'd been blocking that one that stupid chaser Christian had scored leaving her and her team in the dust.

This made her angry. They couldn't loose the game. They just couldn't. "COME ON PAYTON! PICK UP THE PACE!" She called out to the seeker blocking another quaffle headed for the goals. "Not today!" She muttered and blocked it. "Y'ouch!" She called out feeling something crack in her hand and an excruciating pain fly up into her hand and arm. It was almost worth it to hear the sound of Montagnard's scoring another. 'Great...'she thought to herself. 'Another injury.' Trying to shake it off and glanced up at the battled that was going on between the seekers. Louise was the ball (Or snitch) today for sure.

Louise knew the heat was on and that Cerisier was actually in the lead. She shook her head knowing she couldn't let her team down, she had to win this for Cerisier, for herself. Things hadn't really been alright with Linette and she was struggling to get their relationship back on track, but was failing miserably, so she had to focus on something positive...such as this game, and she would win this game.... She glanced at Payton and shook her head. "Think you can catch me Payton?!" She yelled to him with a cocky attitude. She laughed as she slowly neared the snitch. She started to reach out. "Almost there....almost...." She whispered almost and encouragement to herself, she was going to catch it. She was so close she could taste it.

"Of course it is Quentin D'Angelo," she shouted back. She snarled at his having scored the next goal. Well two could play at that game. Marie-Laure had set the challenge. She was not going to back down from it. Getting hold of the Quaffle though was a little bit more of a challenge. She got angrier and angrier as the quaffle and the goals kept going Cerisier's way.

The snowball fight which had suddenly sprung up between Johnson and Winthrop couldn't have come at a more opportune moment and it was unfortunate that neither Marie-Laure nor her fellow chasers were in a position to take advantage of that fact. Finally though she was able to intercept it and score for Montagnard. It was just a little beyond annoying that she hadn't had hold of it sooner.

Cerisier vs Montagnard: Round II Empty Re: Cerisier vs Montagnard: Round II

Post by Osmund Hollow Thu Sep 26, 2013 3:20 pm

While Osmund was busy knocking bludgers at people, he wasn't the only one trying to take out other players with ball-like objects. He noticed from the corner of his eye as the snowball flew through the air and hit another player. His attention was drawn from his usual beating duties to work out what had just happened. Charon suddenly had a patch of white snow on his uniform and Payton was grinning. He worked out the rest from there.

"Oi! You've got a snitch to catch!" He yelled at Payton. Though he had trained the boy personally in the years prior and the boy had proven to be admirable at his position, the one thing he couldn't seem to get a grip on was focusing. He rolled his eyes as Charon sent a snowball in return. Such children. "Okay that's enough!" He motioned for them to carry on. There was a snitch somewhere in the pitch and while Payton was distracted otherwise, Louise might as well have caught it already. Thankfully, that wasn't the case.

After his scolding had been done, he turned back to his own duty and swung another bludger, this one aiming at the chasers. With his own keeper seemingly injured to the point of hinderance, it seemed only fair to make ground even by taking out a chaser. The scores were close now. Too close and much rested on the seekers.

The snowball that Charon threw missed, badly. It missed Payton by a mile. He must have been really bad with his aim. "Good shot," he teased. "Good try." The smirk on Payton's face didn't last long cause as soon as Osmund began to yell, the smirk fell. "I'm trying." He stuck his tongue out when Osmund went back to what he was doing, he hoped he hadn't seen. If he saw, Payton was going to get yelled at even more.

He went back to what he was doing, determined as ever. Cause if Osmund had seen that little act and Payton caught the snitch, he'd might excuse it. Another goal was made by Cerisier, Payton sighed. He needed to catch that snitch soon so this game would end.

But it seemed like the universe hated Payton as Louise caught the snitch. Just his luck, he had got caught throwing a snowball and was probably going to get yelled at for not catching the snitch. And if he had seen him sticking out his tongue, the yelling was going to be worse.

Paige let her great captain done, she had not hit anyone this game not even a small nick. He was sure to be ashamed of her playing today, and she would probably be hearing about it later. If she did he wouldn't hear a word of argument from the small blonde.  She had played horribly, completely uncalled for and she was determined to learn from this and play better next game.  She landed on the grass and walked over to her captain waiting until they were to go in. At least Charon won also maybe he would be happier and not be considering to leave anymore.

Christian flew around the pitch as far as his broom would go throwing the quaffle between his players trying to keep it out of this hands of the mountains. However that didn't always work out so well and the teams ended up tied with neither able to get ahead. "Come on Cerisier!" He yelled at his team trying to motivate them, as well as warn them what would be the results of another loss. Just as the teen was about to score another goal that would have surely went in, when the end whistle blew.

The nervous captain looked around to find the seeker with the snitch. He practically jumped off the broom he was mounted on when he saw the young Puchard with it. "Hell yeah! That's how you do it! Finally!" He celebrated. Looks like their lossing streak was over so perhaps this meant they could win the cup yet.

René tried not to sound to disappointed when the Cerisier seeker caught the snitch. Out of two games announcing, the Montagnard team was one and one. He really wished he'd been slotted for the third game instead of this one, as it would've been pretty intense to call that match, but oh well, he'd gotten to call two pretty fun matches. He spoke into the microphone attempting to pep up his voice. "And that will be it as Seeker Puchard has got the snitch in her grip." He sighed silently, but he was pretty excited to get the experience of just spectating for the fun of it, without the stress of announcing.
