Here we go

Charon was so nervous. Since his conversation with Lucy by the lake he'd started to realize some things, he was crushing on her massively. She was so gorgeous with her long brown hair, but she was also like a gazillion miles out of Charon's league in his opinion, she was so much better than him. Nethertheless, it was worth a shot to ask her. He had invited her to hang out, but he had no idea what to do, he felt like an idiot. Charon closed his eyes and looked at the girl across from him on the picnic blanket. He looked down at the sandwich he made for himself before setting it down and sending his attention back to Louise. He sighed, now or never. Charon smiled a little. "Lucy? Will you go out with me?" He asked softly and waited patiently for her answer. Worst case scenario she said no and they never talked about this again.

Louise was a little excited about today. She was to meet Charon by the lake where they had had lunch a few times...but this time he said it would be different. This confused Louise a little. She didn't understand how it would be different, but she was sure that he was telling her the truth of it all. Smiling as she approached the lake she sat down next to him. "Hello!" She said brightly to the brown haired boy. He just looked completely nervous...and she didn't understand why, they were the best of friends. She kept her sweet smile...but it slowly started to fade when he asked her THE question.."Oh....Charon..." She said a little flushed. True she did care about him...and true she did like him...but she wasn't sure how much she liked him. He was sweet and adorable...but she didn't feel like she was ready for the next step in the relationship... "I can't....I'm sorry..." She started to stand up a little. "I just....I....' She couldn't find the words that she wanted to say. "I...uh...have to go..." She turned on her heel and quickly made her escape. Louise did really like him..and she was usually so peppy and talkative...but that question had rendered her speechless.
