Owl Eyes Empty Owl Eyes

Persephone had made it a habit since she had started attending Beauxbatons to always write home and was still going strong with that habbit, even in her fifth year of school. She was always extremely close with her Papa and wanted to tell him the highlights of her life at school as much as she wanted to read the stories of home he had to send her. Sometimes he mentioned her muggle friends, but not always. The letters she received directly from her muggle friends were also starting to dwindle in numbers, which sort of bummed Percy out, but she wasn't about to give up on writing to them.

Four letters were clutched in her hands as she entered the Owlrey. She handed them off, one by one, to school owls that didn't really seem to be too interested in anything and set them off. That was, until she had just one letter left, but the owl she tried to give it to flat out denied it. "C'mon," She cooed. "it's not that long of a fly to Wales," She tried to coax the bird. It remained reluctant. She looked around to see if she could spot another school owl that wasn't busy, but there seemed to be few left. "I'll give you a nice treat if you do it for me," She tried, and reached into her pocket to find it empty of any sort of thing an owl could eat. "Ummmm," she was sort of lost here, but wasn't about to start bribing the owl with her own ferret to do the job. Luckily she wasn't alone in the owlrey. She turned to the younger student, desperately, and asked, "Do you have anything to eat?"

Owl Eyes Empty Re: Owl Eyes

This was how habits started, he hadn't set out to make this a thing he did often but Ryan had been insistent to know what was going on. For awhile the young boy continued to send a multitude of letters to the first year demanding that he send some back telling him all about the palace and its wonders and above all how it felt to officially learn magic. Both boys have known their entire lives that they were most likely going to become wizards like everyone else in their family but there was something different about knowing it and experiencing it finally. It had begun as a way to pacify the younger boy but now Stark found he was writing at least one letter, or more, to his brother every month.

Just this morning the strawberry blonde had received a letter from Ryan so he didn't have a response letter just yet but he wanted to go give his owl a treat after its flight. Once in the owlery he noticed someone else there but they seemed busy so he just called his own owl down with a whistle and fed it some owl treats. "There you go Donnie." He said with a smile when she took the treats from his hand. Once they were all gone he got up to leave but the girl in the room with him spoke up asking if he had anything to eat. "Sorry I just fed the last of mine. Is that one being incorporation?" He asked noticing the owl in front of her. "If you'd like you can have my owl send that out for you." He said with a smile motioning towards his own bird.

Percy got closer to the younger boy, as he insisted that he was fresh out of treats for owls. Her eyes narrowed as she prodded a finger at him. "Are you lying to me?" She accused, not that she could ever be considered an intimidating, but she was trying anyway.

However, she decided to believe him when he offered out his owl. "Are you sure? Won't you need him?" She asked, a bit unsure about asking a stranger for an owl. What if he expected something in return? "He's going to have to fly an awfully far distance." She admitted.

One could never be sure who they'd meet around this school or how they would react to things. For instance Stark was certainly not expecting this girl, who had looked so nice, to instantly accuse him of being a liar. If she thought he looked the kind of person that would lie to a stranger then why did she even bother to ask him in the first place. His eyes grew wide when she approached him and accused him of such a thing. "Why would I do that?" He asked is a quiet, almost scared sounding, voice. He pulled his pockets inside out to show her that he was indeed out of the little treats the owls loved so much.

He took a few steps back from her before answering again not liking how close she had got to call him a liar. "Donnie loves long flights and I won't need to send anything out for awhile anyways. The poor thing doesn't like staying here with all the others for too long so I'm sure it would love to deliver a letter to where ever it is you need to get it." He said with a small smile, still he was wary of the girl now.

Persephone hated it when people asked to borrow a pencil and never returned it or borrowed one of her books and returned it in poorer condition than which she had leant it, so she wasn't about to do the same to some strange boy she had met. He seemed sweet enough to lend his owl to her, but she wasn't about to tire the poor thing out with her letter back home. However, as he insisted, Percy decided that he was being genuine, and not only being genuine, but being sweet and kind and mixed with the fact that he had glasses and was a freshman, Percy found him completely adorable.

"Thanks kid!" She said, and poked his nose affectionately. She accepted the owl onto her own hand and tied the last of the four letters to his leg before bringing him to the window and sending him lose. Turning back to the boy, now empty of owl as well as treats, and raised an eyebrow. "Why did you come here in the first place if it wasn't to send a letter?"

Stark stared at this older girl for a moment in confusion. She changed her acts so quickly the small boy found it difficult to keep up a bit. One minute she is accusing him of being a liar and the next she is all smiles and thank you's, she even threw in a tap on nose as if he was a baby. Did this girl like him or did she think he looked like a liar, it couldn't be both unless she liked liars, he just didn't understand. He gave her a sweet smile as usual though not letting his confusion show. He watched as the girl attacked a letter to Donnie's leg who was practically squirming from anticipation of the flight. The stranger than took his bird to the wind and it was gone.

She turned back to face him then and asked what he was doing here. It was to be expected that she ask that since most people came here only to send letters. "I just wanted to give Donnie some treats." He said with a smile. "This morning I got a letter from my brother so I thought I'd visit Donnie after that trip." He said with a warm smile, he really loved his bird even if he didn't always get to see it or cuddle with it like the ones with cats and whatnot.
