Delivering a Letter Empty Delivering a Letter

Post by Guest Fri Jul 19, 2013 2:30 pm

It was Cassandra's first time in the owlery, she never sent or got any letters. But after she had gotten her new owl, she wanted to see if he could deliver a letter. She would send it to her home, though no one would open it. Nat sat on Cassie's shoulder, he looked very proud that he would be sending a letter. The letter contained how Cassie's years had gone and school and what she had learned. It also talked about her owl and how he was named after her father.

Before she tied the letter to her owl's leg, she'd gave him a small treat. "Be safe. If anything happens, fly back to me." She gave her owl a kiss on his head, he flapped his wings in return. "You'll do great! I know you will. Fly this to my home. Its a long flight, so rest whenever you can. I love you." She tied the letter to Nat and before she knew it, he was off to deliver the letter.

Delivering a Letter Empty Re: Delivering a Letter

Post by Professor St. Pierre Fri Jul 19, 2013 3:14 pm

It was the weekend so the Professor's didn't have any classes to worry about only some grading. This particular professor had already finished all of his grading and was left with nothing in particular to do, so he decided to visit the owlery to pass some time. From time to time St. Pierre would visit the owlery with his pockets stuffed to capacity with owl treats, it was his way of thanking the loving animals for all the work they did for his students. His own light brown barn owl often found herself in the tower as well so it was nice to visit her once in awhile, instead of always waiting for her to visit him. The man slowly made his way up the stairs being careful not to drop any of the treats he had in hand.

Once he stepped in the doorway he saw a young student inside talking to an owl. He stood where he was for a few moments listening to her until the owl took off through a window and was gone. "You know owls can fly for quite awhile before they get tired so you don't have to worry about that one." He said kindly to the girl who seemed so worried about the bird. He loved to see students who cared about animals and tried to educate them on the animals so they could rest easy about their health, much like this girl seemed worried about the owl's health.

Delivering a Letter Empty Re: Delivering a Letter

Cassandra looked up at the professor, she hadn't expected anyone to be there. "Oh, hello." She gave him a small smile, she hadn't met him before. "Um, I just wanted to make sure Nat was going to be alright. He's blind in one eye." She explained. Plus, she wasn't sure how much of a flyer he was. He would rather sit on her shoulder than fly. "He doesn't fly much. I was worried." Being the nervous type she was, she stuttered a lot and looked at the ground.

She smiled at a white owl that was trying to get her attention. "Aren't you a cutie." If Nat was still there, he would be very jealous of the attention the other bird was getting. "Want a treat?" The owl seemed to perk up so she gave it a treat then began petting it. She always loved animals, cats were her favorite. But her heart belonged to her owl most of all. "How long do you think it would take him to fly to California?" She worried that her owl might get lost or hurt or sick. "I worry about him." She worried about everything.
